I am Hindu, we are 3 sisters. My mother advised me to wear dupatta as we grew up to protect ourselves from that gaze/ maintain a modesty. What is a dupatta to every women is hijab to Muslim women. This is so clear, why all the fuss!!!

The whole issue is not about them wearing hijab. The issue started when girls going to secular school/colleges started insisting that they be given exemption from the code of dress in uniform because of their religion.
Personally l am not against hijab. Everybody has right to wear whatever they want. But when you enter a space of an institution as a student it is deemed that you will abide by the system of institution and not fight against it and change the underlying principles that run the institution.
Muslim women do have colleges and schools where they get good education and also wear islamic dress. Why don't they go those institutions, instead of creating a ruckus which spoils the image of the management , staff and students of the institution? This just an attempt to tarnish image of India and Hindus. What an irresponsible way?
Either these muslims are daft or ill intentioned or simply don't understand what secularism means or just suffer from identity crisis or they are brainwashed by the mullas who simply don't get the concept of secularism.

@@amaan730 Good question. First of all, bindi is not a religious symbol. Its a cultural symbol. In south many Hindu girls wear it as tradition. Some in north wear it only after marriage. Many punjabis, bengalis and north eastern people don’t put bindi even after marriage. So please 🙏🏼 if u don’t know about Hinduism , don’t compare it with any religion.
Coming to Sikhs, turban is not their choice. It is compulsory. From the day Sikhism was founded, turban = Sardarji/ sikh. It is one of the pillars of sikhism. Hijab is not . It is choice. The girl kept her points really well, great that she admitted that Hijab or Burqa is not essential from Islamic religion. Although failed to understand why she always had to notice the boys so vividly that every time she used to feel scared and resorted to wear Hijab. I pity her for growing up in such a hostile condition that can only be found in Afghanistan or Pakistan like country.
She lived in such a society where her father and brother never imposed anything on her but the men outside managed to do so just by staring. I hope she herself is not a pervert.

It's about institutions. Every institutions also have right to choose their school uniform.
Sanskarit vidhayal have there own dresses, you can't go there in pants shirts and any other dress then normal prist dress.
Madarsha also have thier own dress.
The school i study don't allow girls to wear pants , shirts. I studied from government school.
In the same city my friend from CBSE schools only allow to wear pants and froks and skirt.

The university should worry about making its education system not only uniform but also better. I don't think there should be uniformity in their class, we are not making puppets. You know that there is a lot of diversity in India and if we want to bring unity to the whole country then we have to allow that diversity to stay in the classroom so that they can exchange ideas and connect more with each other.

Same happened in my case.. we had always been modern and I wore capris, jeans, long skirts.. my mom did not wear hijab too... But I hated the lustful gazes and one day one dirty gaze a guy gave me had completely changed me.. I totally stopped wearing jeans and all.. then slowly got introduced to hijab and that was it.. Alhumdullillah I love it and I know it's importance in my life.. and my mom wears it too now 😇

There is nothing wrong if the childrens in their early childhood days taught the culture of brahmin family. It is upto the child to decide whether to follow it or not. Same way islamic system is taught to muslims. It is upto them whether to follow it or not. A muslim must perform five time namaz a day, you are not asking a muslim why u r not performing five times namaz or u r not asking a devotee why he is not going to temple. You are not asking a drunkard who taught you to consume liquor or it is harmful for human body why you are consuming it. Truth is that all muslims must perform five times namaz but all are not doing nobody bothers. All hindus are supposed to worship their God/Godess all are not doing nobody bothers. All muslim womans must wear hijab but all are not wearing but issue raises when some wears. In future one may question who taught you to do namaz all muslims are not doing why you? Same all hindus are not going to temple why you?

Exactly. I know many girls who wear short clothes but are morally upright. And I know fully covered women who are completely promiscuous. I don't believe in casting judgement on anyone. But yes one should be mindful of the society around you. We in India have mixed culture. Some people are in highly westernised, Urban settings, others are from rural and moffusil backgrounds. Judgement happens both ways. But society wants to objectify and possess women as property.
