I feel a sense of guilt that I am now 52 years old and have passed for white my entire life and have not use that to educate more people. I have been trying to tell people for decades what has been going on in this country. The advantage I have is that white people view me as one of them, until they see my indigenous father, so they tell me things that only a white person would tell another white person. I can't tell you how many people I have put in their place over my lifetime. I can't tell you how many times I have cut somebody off right before they said something extremely racist, xenophobia, or misogynistic. I can't tell you how many people I have thrown out of the place of business I was working at, all because of their racist rhetoric. Yes I live in Kentucky, and yes there are a lot of good people that live here, but the bad seems to outweigh the good at this moment.
Its time we get things right in this country, for once. We have to acknowledge the problems and then fix them. We cant so it all at once, but we can make improvements now. As my granny used to say, the road is long and our feet are small but with one step at a time we can get there.

Different groups have been given reparations such as the Japanese, American Indians, and the Jewish community. The JC is given reparations monthly from the taxpayers within America. I don’t hear anyone complaining about it either. When it’s mentioned as an argument there’s no rebuttal.

The Average (mean) white family has a net wealth of $200,000 dollars. Average black family is somewhere near $5,000 (let’s just say 0 to make the math easier)
There are 15.3 million Black Families in the US (according to the US Census Bureau) . 15 mil x $200,000 is 3 trillion dollars.
I thought I was going to argue that reparations would be untenable for white people to swallow. But something near that scale actually seems quite doable.
That honestly doesn’t seem like it’s anywhere near enough to pay back the value of our ancestors lives and labor, but I couldn’t even imagine them coming off much more than that.
The actual value of their labor with interest is so high, it might crash the value of the dollar if the actually paid it out.

Keep dreaming. What they owe us is the opportunity to succeed in this country, through business, through education and any other positive means necessary. What we do have is the power to vote. Let's not allow them to take that away from us.

I say these very same things all the time and I can't tell you how many of my white friends that have turned their backs on me and have been offended just because I speak on things like this. it's not to start trouble or make anyone feel guilty for something that they did not do themselves. But I say these things because I want to bring understanding and let them know why we feel the way that we do sometimes. We are viewed as being so bad but it is a fact that people growth and behavior tend to be much different when you grow up in better circumstances. no it is not an excuse for everyone. But having proper parenting from both, love and the wealth to grow up in decent environments can make a major difference in anyone's lives.
