Wow, I remember when I had my first baby back in 1993 I got Lil' Johanna, Lil' Suzy, Angelique Natalie, all From Tony Garcia, my favorite Latin Freestyle Song Composer. To this date I still listen to these songs, they never go out of style plus, they bring me some of my best memories.
No other music mixes the Spanish and English language with such great harmony. I never could understand why Latin Freestyle never got the exposure that it deserved during that time. It seems like they are coming back stronger than ever and are filling up bigger venues in certain cities. Long live Latin Freestyle or Latin Hip Hop as some of us recognize it.
If you remember, gangster rap was also taking off at the same time. For some reason, it eclipsed freestyle music except in the mostly Latin communities. I loved freestyle..no talk about killing, shooting, drugs or any of that other craziness. It's strange that it went that way.
