    Poetry in motion
    The skill you display from free-hand layout to freehand bench navigation, is that of a true craftsman! The absence of shop fixtures, when tooling radial cuts/layouts multiple times in corresponding parts, requires "machine" precision. From one Carpenter to another Carpenter....You sir, are greater than the machine🙏🏾

    I went ISAT ( Iloilo School of Arts and Trade) in the Philippines. At age 11-12 yo they taught us metal work and arts like this guy. Too bad I pursue a career in medical fields. Now I forgot what they taught us but teachers were really good. I still have my wall decor made of metals.

    Il b making similar to ur design but there will b slightly different by using hydraulic jack. The universal dies set u made is very unique idea. Been thinking of making d bender quite awhile but materials costly expensive. Keep sharing all d bright ideas and hopefully u have good buyers out there can benefit those heavy duty tools u have created.

    You need to replace the bearing with a bigger diameter concave roller bearings to easen-up the bending.

    Great video. I do tons of square tube bending. Not sure the bearings you have chosen are doing anything on the outside edge. But from maybe where you are located geographically that’s what you came up with. Bad ass vid and I sure wish I had your toughness everyday. Maybe I wouldn’t be a fat ass if I took the working route like yourself. Thanks for the share brother.

    is anyone else amazed the drill press still works after all those holes assuming he actually did every plate shown

    • @offroader22
      @offroader22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would the drill press get broken from drilling holes? It's whats it's built to do...

    • @AndrewBrowner
      @AndrewBrowner 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@offroader22 not the drill press shown, i have a few that size people sell them around here for 10-20$ they have no torque at all, like 1/4 of the torque of a wall powered or even 18v cordless drill, its because they use an inductive motor instead of a universal style motor
      the kind shown use more so for wood maybe the occasional small hole in steel 3/8" and under, using those large drill bits and hole saws it really takes alot of time and patience applying much pressure just stalls the machine, they get really got quite quick, not to mention its harder on the drill bits and hole saws theyd much rather have alot of down pressure and make nice big chips instead of little needles and dust
      i may pick up a mount for my milwuakee fuel 1/2" drill to use it as a portable drill press as it has little problem sending 3/4" drills into steel i just dont have the weight to provide it down pressure or the strength to hold onto it when it grabs onto a bite.. itll spin you around or if you get yourself wedged up in a solid position itll break the screws and possibly plastic in the handle from the force
      in order to get a drill press to drill steel youd need to spend over 1000$ itd have much better fixturing or even a vice probably a taper chuck of some kind and enough torque and gearing to push a 1" drill through steel with you hanging off the feed handle without stalling, itll make nice big curly chips and youd be able to drill 100 holes without sharpening your bit
      long winded reply but all drills arent made equally

    I watch and just imagine how much less effort and work it'd take to use a hydraulic powered Bender setup. But for someone who has a lot of junk like that laying around you could build one that'd get the job done I guess

    • @AndrewBrowner
      @AndrewBrowner 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      im not worried about the effort, pit a bigger shaft on for the handle and get a longer cheater bar, but the bend quality was pretty poor, it kinked and flattened the tubing and pipe because the roller bearings and the steel plates werent machine to fit snuggly against the material they were bending, it was a cool build and seems to work for his application but in north america you can get a hyrdaulic pipe bender that will do the quality of bend for under 100$.. a true tubing bender that makes nice looking sound bends for things like roll cages in cars cost about 400$ for the unit and 200-400$ for each set of dies you want you need a seperate die for every size tubing you want to bend as they fit each size very smoothly and dont kink or deform the material

    • @jackle842000
      @jackle842000 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewBrowner I was referring to the effort to build it and all really. Plus it would take a ton of work to bend it a perfect 90 degrees or whatever you want which he isn't showing here. He's just bending it to whatever he thinks it's close. So for the house occasionally I guess it wouldn't be that much effort but if you wanted to use it daily it would add up super fast. But guess it's all depending on the intended use. For me I'd definitely prefer more repeatable and accurate bend quality and angles with much easier use. But guess it does bend it

      Heads up, we don’t usually use gloves at the drill press or bandsaw. Same reason we keep beards and hair away. Gloves are known to get caught in machines and pull your hand in. I prefer a small cut over a mangled limb! But yes any other time, wear gloves!!

      Plus he should have clamped his workpiece to the press table so it doesn’t catch and spin. Although that drill press probably cries for mercy and stalls rather than crushing your wrist with a 1/4” thick steel death frisbee..
