    Does the pressure switch bleed the pressure in the line running from the compressor? I made one without that type of pressure switch and the pump will not start under a load.

    Hi, I would like to build this but I am a little confused, How do you stop oil from the compressor to go to the air tank, I mean the compressor is full of oil so how do I stop that oil from getting into the air tank ? Thank you

      I think they run them dry without oil , so not sure how long they will last.

      harbor freight sells a water-oil separator you can splice in-line at the compressor output.

    How long would you say it takes for a compressor built this way to get up to max pressure?

    • @KostasMiniatures
      @KostasMiniatures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depents on the size of the airtank. This one takes about 4 minutes

    Will it have enough pressure and flow rate for driving nails?
    What is the typical pressure maximum of fire extinguisher bottles?

    • @KostasMiniatures

      Certainly, it is possiple, you simply need to ensure that the refrigerator motor does overfill the tank rapidly. Otherwise, you risk either putting excessive strain on the motor, leading to quicker wear and tear, or depleting the air supply in the tank.

    sir Kostasiii Miniatures can i ask?do you have an idea how will you know the PSI required for the unlabel tank.coz i have a junk fire extinguisher but i dont know what is the appropriate PSi for that tank.i hope i caught your attention.thanks.

    I don’t know what the max pressure that compressor can produce, but perhaps you can use a high pressure compressed air tank that can handle more than 3,000 psi to build a air compressor for high cfm needs.

    • @engjds
      @engjds ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats over 200bar!, even expensive commercial ones operate at a maximum of about 12 bar.

    Thank you for this informative video kostas! I just built mine but had some issue where it doesnt create enough pressure to my tank, my regulator and air pressure gauge doesnt seem to read the tank. I wonder what causes the problem. btw I used condor m11 for my pressure switch. Thanks again Kostas hope you read this comment!

      Hi Czar. Better late than never! Did you manage to find a solution? Low pressure usually is air leakage or not so strong compressor.

      @@KostasMiniatures Hello Kostasiii, Yea the thing with mine was it is a prebuilt air compressor using a fridge compressor and wanted to add an additional air tank
      ( preview.redd.it/z96pojv4hyw71.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13b6d72394b0768b2f89c4b2d72cfcc0e851e5e5 )
      I was able to add a pressure switch as well as the new tank but yea the pressure works now there's some leakages that I might need to cover with Teflon tape.
      overall the compressor is working but when left alone with air inside, the day after the tank is empty which tells me there's leakage. anyways thanks for replying man! I appreciate it

      @@KostasMiniatures If you haven't removed the rubber membrane but added a valve at the bottom, does it make any sense? The air will only be in the balloon, and so will the condensate.

    • @Fenr1r90
      @Fenr1r90 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under the plastic cap is a standard automotive air valve for filling air and generating pressure. The liquid is in the membrane and the air is in the rest of the tank, just like in membrane hydrophores. In this case, the valve becomes completely unnecessary.

      The manufacturers data sheet for the compressor will give you the displacement, (in cc`s) which you multiply by 2900 and divide by 1000 for litres per minute. This the the theoretical free air output, the real world output will be somewhat less, typically 10%-15%

    Kostas ,
    Thank you so much for your detailed explanation of the build , and in particular the modification of the pressure switch .
    My first build failed due to this not functioning, resulting in a burnt out motor , however , following the instruction in your video, the modified pressure switch works perfectly and I have a most useful compressed air system in my small workshop ,
    Thanks again ! .

      Yeah, but you wouldnt be able to use it continuously I guess, you need bigger bottles or a much faster compressor.

    You didn't do a very good job of explaining why the pressure switch needed to be modified and how what you did would work. I don't see why the pressure valve would depend on the VOLUME of air moving into it, just the PRESSURE of the air at shutoff. I could be mistaken-can you expound on why you did this?

    残念ですが冷蔵庫orルームエアコンの圧縮機ではそのままではモーターが焼き付きが生じます冷やす対策をこうじて下さい。冷媒が入ってない分圧縮機は高温になってコイルが焼けてしまいますよ。
