You never cease to amaze me with the incredible amount of amazing garments you present, especially taking care of a family and being a full-time educator. Take care and keep up the good work.
At 82 years old I must be one of your oldest followers. I love your cheerful videos and seeing everything you have made. I have been sewing for most of my life and can lose myself and forget everything else when I am with the sewing machine. Please keep sewing and telling us all about your busy life. I have a daughter who is a teacher so I understand that you too can lose yourself in your beautiful sewing. Dont listen to nasty critics.
You are an amazing mammy. Delighted things are turning around for u all as a family now. Not easy at all. So glad to have u back you have been missed !!
So happy to see you, Liz!! So happy for your eldest as they find their way! Thank you for sharing your life update and your makes. So inspiring and great tips!
I was sad to hear about what you have gone through. It would be interesting to know many of the people who left the negative comments actually do anything themselves- I suspect not a lot. Don't ever change. 😂
Yay yay yay.. So happy to see you back.. What you do is amazing with family, work and school.. I love watching your videos and look forward to them each week.. you and I are very different in style but you help me step out of my comfort zone.. I love Watching.. Thank you
Glad you put the video back up. We can't let internet trolls bully us for no reason other than they are having a bad day or just want to start a fight. I love watching hauls - they are very relaxing and interesting. We are allowed to enjoy our life and our hobbies. Good on you!
Liz, it was so good to see you back. I have missed watching you and always find you so positive. I am so sorry that other people are so negative towards you. I cannot believe how much you are able to do alongside working full time as a teacher, which I know is so full on, as well as taking care of your lovely family. Please take care.
Good on you for addressing these issues. I think sometimes people need to hear it. Being on TH-cam, making videos, planning, lighting, sound, editing and all the other stuff in our normal lives is a lot. It takes a lot of time. I don't make any money out of it, pretty sure we don't do it for money. I want to be one of those people who say thank you. Thank you for all your hard work behind the camera and I am really grateful that you are here, allowing up sewist to feel we are not the only person who sews. I love all the beautiful colourful clothes you sew. ❤❤
Glad you are back……a favorite for sure! Sewing is you hobby and TH-cam is one of your charities maybe. I can’t imagine the time and effort it takes you to organize, write your script, film, and oh my gosh edit…..thanks a bunch!
So sorry you had to go through this! Happy to see that you're back - the sewing community is not nearly as bright, colourful and cheerful, if you're not around!
Not JUST a hobby. Sewing is your mental health necessity. Everybody needs and deserves time to themselves. This also makes for a better you, wife, mother, friend and all the other roles you fill. Put bluntly, stuff the haters. You have enough on your plate and do a fantastic job being you, a vital part of your family, friends and those of us who enjoy your videos.
Dear Liz, I can truly understand how people throwing rockets at you from the cover of trenches can hurt you (my daughter is a model, so u can imagine ). You inspire me, and others, to sew and we, your followers, look forward to your vids. Keep up the fantastic work ❤
Love your videos Liz. Cannot understand anyone wanting to be unkind as they do not have to watch. Unfortunately there are always those type of people who just want to be negative so just ignore and continue doing what you do. You have plenty of us who love to see what you have been sewing and buying x
I’ve taken some time away for a couple of months and I’m so pleased to hear that Ruby is now able to attend a more appropriate setting, hopefully she’ll enjoy her summer and return to school feeling happier. I LOVE your today’s dress - it looks fabulous. I’ve yet to try out the estimate, but I’m hoping to make some for my holiday in September. Take care … keep smiling xx
Well done Liz! One of the reasons I watch you over anyone else is how you advocate for your children. I work as a teacher in secondary education and ASD is missed so often in girls. Your work for your daughter matters for her and for others like her. I particularly love what you do for her in terms of her clothing!!! That IS using your hobby to advocate. Not that you are obligated to do so. She did a full day of school! It's probably the new Mum hormones but I'm having a proper cry for you! You're amazing! ❤ I mean FFS I watch you every Sunday, you provide your content for free. Anyone who chooses to take an opportunity to then be horrible to you is a ******
Liz, I am so glad to see you back and its great to hear that your daughter has found the right school setting. We have been through similar problems with my son and honestly, there is little more stressful than that. I know that it is easier said than done to ignore the mean comments, but if they don't like it they really need to watch someone else. You are amazing and those that don't see that need to go elsewhere. 😘😘😘
Thank you so much for taking the time to make such a lovely video. I was delighted to hear that you have won your battle regarding your daughter’s education provision but know that will have been a draining and frustrating process. Thrilled she has enjoyed a whole day. Your makes are stunning, particularly your Mabel/Sofia dress hack. Thank you for the water bottle carrier pattern recommendation, off to make one of those for sure. 😊
Welcome back Liz .. missed you . Sew impressed with your crochet , I can’t get my head around it ! Lovely goodies you have , can’t wait to see all your new makes . Happy last week of term . X x x
I am a subscriber and regular viewer of your fab vlog.I have never seen anything that would warrant an unkind comment.Could I suggest that those people choose another channel and then use their energy to better purposes. I have a child with special needs and he was home for a year ,while I was also ill, battling the system.I finally found a brilliant day placement for him and twelve years on he's still happy.I hope your choices turn out equally as suitable. Yours is a sewing channel and anything else is up to you to share. I have loved this vlog, it is filled with fantastic makes and fabrics.I love that you choose such interesting and lovely fabrics. The dresses with the back bows look gorgeous. For crochet TCDDIY is a weekly youtube that produces modern crochet garments. They are really individual. She shows you step by step how to complete the stitches and garments and you can buy her patterns. Be careful of some patterns(not hers) that are American. The stitches in English are different to American.I am already looking forward to your next vlog.
If people don’t like what you post they don’t have to watch it don’t get upset by negative people you do a great job posting your makes etc I enjoy it immensely take care have a great holoday
Hi Liz, I for one have missed your videos, and am glad to see you back, I also have an autistic daughter and I know just how exhausting it is advocating for them, don't let them get you down, you do a fantastic job, with working, looking after your family and youtubing, be proud of yourself, its amazing , you're amazing xx
Hi, i think I've missed the excitement. Dont waste energy on negativity. You love sewing and showing, we love sewing and watching your vlogs. Ps I so get it with psoriasis. I have it on my feet which makes me self-conscious about wearing sandals. I'm so going to take a leaf out of your book and not worry too much about it. As for wearing shorts, my knees are so knobbly 😂❤
So glad to see you back Liz. I loved what you said at the beginning of this video. Energy is finite and you deserve to enjoy your hobbies. You give so much of yourself to so many and deserve better. ❤
Welcome back Liz! That Mabel mashup is beautiful as are all your makes. Keep posting and lifting our spirits with your positive attitude and gorgeous fabric choices xx
Loving your crochet Liz. I’m just learning basics. And am loving it. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had a bad time with some unkind comments,. That’s so unfair. I love your vlogs. And your passion for your family and support you give in fighting for an educational setting. We’ve done all that and it’s hard work.
Hi Liz, I'm so sorry to hear people have been unkind. I love your channel and really appreciate the time and effort that goes into editing and producing these videos. Keep being you. I watch you from "downunder' Australia. 😊🦘🐨❤
Lovely to see you back ❤ I am sorry that you have had to deal with such sad people who have nothing better to do in their lives than upset others. You just carry on being the beautiful person you quite clearly are. Hopefully TH-cam gives you the option to delete and block such idiots from your channel? I love seeing what you have made, your fabrics and your plans. Your enthusiasm is very inspirational. Enjoy your last week of summer term ❤ see you next time.
Lovely to see you back. Can see you've been upset by what ever happened. Your videos are fantastic love seeing all of your makes, keep being you don't let any negativity get to you 😊
How lovely to see you back and don't let others stop you doing what you do clearly love doing! I absolutely love your blogs and did miss seeing you the last few weeks. Stay strong and true to yourself . Thinking of you all especially your beautiful girls and wishing you all well xxx 😍😍
I've missed your videos. You are very talented and huge amount of people support you. It's hard but these nasty people are not worth heeding. I hope you continue
😊 I love seeing all your beautiful makes and always look forward to your videos. Im always amazed at the amount of sewing you can fit in to your busy lifestyle. Thank you for sharing 😊
OMG. I can’t believe people can be so nasty. I follow you because I find your posts interesting. Just don’t let those narsts get to you. Your sewing and styling goes from strength to strength.
Glad your back. Lisa lam makes bags and sells kits.Debbie Shore makes lots of things including bags. Maybe you can find out about those clasps from them. X
Liz, I fully understand the struggle with having an Autistic child. My 13 yr old grandson was diagnosed when he was 3 1/2. Those first years of school was very hard. Mainly because the teachers did not understand him and we try to our best to give them as much information as we could before school even started each year. We tried to let the teacher know that if she could give him a five minute countdown before she would switch to the next subject it would keep him from having a meltdown. But often we found that they did not do that and he would become disruptive and his parents were often called to the school as a result. But that never stopped him from learning, expressing himself, and trying to make friends.
Welcome back Liz! I just finished the Marley swimsuit and it’s super cheeky. Like almost a thong but not quite…just throwing that out there just in case you wanted to adjust it. I’ll probably be adjusting mine for my next one.
I am so glad to see you back, love watching your videos and I am so sorry you’ve experienced unkindness. You are inspirational and you haven’t got to explain yourself, carry on posting and ignore them, to do what you do with all the business you have got in your life is just amazing, and I am so glad things are going in the right direction for your eldest, I cannot imagine how difficult it must be. X
Hello Liz! Your videos are always a delight. I think the pink gingham lining for the tomato dress is perfect. The dress you hacked is darling on you. And finally, life is short…I’m happy you’re wearing the shorts. Im sure no one is looking at your knees. I’ve recently worn a sleeveless top with my old lady arms. I thought who’s really looking at my arms. It’s just been really hot. Let’s ignore the negative Nellies 😊 Take good care of yourself 💕 As a side note, a woman on the current Project Runway wears a gorgeous granny square sweater. I thought of you when I first saw it. I don’t know if, in the UK, you’d be able to find a picture of it. I know you’d love it!
My Grandson is autistic. When he was younger there was a lot I had to help my daughter with, to get him looked after at School effectively. In the end we had to move him to a special school and he thrived. We were lucky, but I sympathise with all you are going through. Ignore people who are critical. Only you know what you are going through, it is easy to criticise someone and people should be more supporting. Hope you get things sorted out.
Why are some people so unkind. I’m sorry you have been upset by these comments. I don’t think I’ve seen the video but that’s not ok to be so judgmental. We have autism in our family too and I know how hard it can be to get the right help for each person. I love your videos you always give me loads of inspiration on new makes. Don’t change we love you for you. Lots of hugs to you and your family from me ❤
I have just seen fabric godmother fabric on Instagram. Made into a sleeveless sage brush top with the print going vertically on the main part and horizontally on the yolk. This gave me an idea. You could make a sleeveless indigo tunic with the print running vertically and a frill with the print horizontally cut the width of the pattern.
Missed you. So good to hear your voice again. Great sewing projects done and to come. Also glad to hear you have found the right situation for Ruby. It is extremely stressful on the whole family when one member is unsettled.
Isn't the Esti great and so comfy. I had issues with the gape on the neck as well, tried sizing down which lessened it but definitely didn't remove it...but it doesn't stop me wearing it lol Liz I am sorry that people were giving you a hard time, there is enough going on in people's lives without having to try and defend against keyboard warriors...only take criticism from others that are willing to put themselves in the arena with you, I have learned that from listening to Brene Brown audio books and it really does make you think about people who are willing to be cruel but not willing to put themselves above the pulpit. I am thrilled to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel with your child's education, they have the right to education in a way that they can engage with it so it is so good that cone September there will be a ray of hope. Take Care Christine ✌️
Lovely to see you back, the bag clasps : one needs to go on before the lining is top stitched, to be fair I don’t think yours is thick enough to hold it, the other part fixes to the front, quite difficult for a new bag sewer, I would leave this one as is, ❤
Hi Liz. You don't need to change anything. You're amazing, we love you. I'm also a teacher and I genuinely don't know how you find time to do everything that you do. Nearly the summer though, I need the break and I wouldn't be surprised if you do too. Have a fab summer and if you get chance to share of your sewing with us we'll all appreciate it. Take care of yourself and your family.
The dress you are wearing and all your makes really suit you. Rachel from stitched ip made the asymmetrical swim suit for her holiday and it looked great.
So so lovely to see you, I've missed you so much. i love watching your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your very busy life and wonderful hobbies. You make some amazing thing and your fabric choices are alway fabulous. xx
It's lovely to see you back again. I really enjoy your creative and colourful take on projects. Very glad to hear that your eldest has found a really compatible school.
Welcome back! I’m so glad that your daughter is getting settled. I also have an autistic child although he is an adult now. It made a huge difference for him when we found a school that was a good match for him. I’m loving the tomato dress!
It’s really nice to have you back, I missed the Sunday and Wednesdays videos. Just love 💕 all the Fabrics and makes, I don’t know how to get your community tab? So I thought you maybe unwell 🤧.its amazing how you fit it all in, work, family, baking and of course all the sewing.
It is so lovely to see you back. I'm so happy for you that you have managed to get your eldest settled into a school that suits them. Our eldest is Autistic and know some of the challenges - though of course all our children and circumstances are different. Keep on being the lovely person you are, don't let the negative people get to you (easier said that done). Thank you for sharing this lovely chatty catch up - such a treat 😁
Oh my god, I had a two piece swimsuit in the 90s in peach and lilac! (the top had a big black zipper in the middle). I loved it so much! have you tried ravelry to find crochet patterns? it's a bit of a rabbit hole, but the lovely kind.
You never cease to amaze me with the incredible amount of amazing garments you present, especially taking care of a family and being a full-time educator. Take care and keep up the good work.

Lovely to see you back, the bag clasps : one needs to go on before the lining is top stitched, to be fair I don’t think yours is thick enough to hold it, the other part fixes to the front, quite difficult for a new bag sewer, I would leave this one as is, ❤
So glad to see you back, just get on with what you always do so we’ll, giving us inspiration in the sewing community.😊
