Me and 2 other friends traveled from Sydney to Taiwan too. I was so overwhelmed, so many amazing dolls. Not sure if there are bjd doll groups in Sydney but we enjoyed the Taiwan event. I hope we’ll have something this big in Australia in the future.
There are groups in Australia but with how separated everyone is, might as well be a separate country to begin with, plus these groups are all so private they might as well not exist in the first place. I've lived in Australia for basically 6 years at this point and I don't think it has any chance of having events like these when people are just trying to get by, and those who can afford to are afraid of being ostracised by everyone for having a weird hobby, so only a handful actually come out for group gatherings or make their hobby public. Not happening.
