I'd say, start off with the 18-50F2.8 since I value flexibility and ease of use over the most critical image quality. I'd take a zoom lens any day of the week if that means I can do more with it. After that however, I'd recommend selling the kit lens and getting the 56F1.4 to supplement the telephoto or portrait side of things, as the kit lens wouldn't have much use at this point. Keep the 16F1.4 around, since a wide angle fast lens is always handy and if you're familiar with my style, you know how much I love a wide angle portrait. As for the stand, its just a common BJD 1/4 stand with a 1/4" hole drilled in the middle, and a plate with a standard nut and bolt to attach to my tripod. If you want to do the same, just make sure you can use the nut and bolt with your own tripod plate before drilling anything👍

Focus stacking is wildly different from exposure stacking, however if you're already used to that side I think you'll pick up what I do pretty quickly. However if you shoot dolls or anything with hair, focus stacking outdoors or anywhere with a slight hint of breeze will be a nightmare🙃

I buy almost all the outfits you see on the channel since there's not a lot of people that would lend clothes like these. Wish there was a renting service but not even that exists in Hong Kong where there's relatively more doll collectors🙃 I caved in and bought seasonal stuff cuz they aren't that expensive if you use em for a few years, and if you can afford to shoot a few more photos then the cost also evens out🤨

There are groups in Australia but with how separated everyone is, might as well be a separate country to begin with, plus these groups are all so private they might as well not exist in the first place. I've lived in Australia for basically 6 years at this point and I don't think it has any chance of having events like these when people are just trying to get by, and those who can afford to are afraid of being ostracised by everyone for having a weird hobby, so only a handful actually come out for group gatherings or make their hobby public. Not happening.

Most of the people I know are all dudes, where are you located? I know most western groups are mostly women. The ears are magnetic and are made by AmaRe BJD studio, though I'm not sure if they speak English or ship outside of Asia.

@@AKTKLM Im in northern California. Seems like there is more activity down south in Los Angeles but that is 8 hour drive away. My girlfriend is HongKong native fluent Cantonese & Mandarin I can bug her to help order the ears. We are going back in spring to renew her citizenship.

Hey there, thanks for watching🫡 Originally this channel also started with the premise of me trying to pivot to other forms of content, mainly camera or landscape stuff since I wanted a way to start entering that side without going head on into that much competition, but the stats have told me it's either dolls or nothing. The retention and views of non doll focused content, even if its just me speaking about things that may relate to the shot, aren't very well received. General content may work however its going to be extremely difficult due to the stiff competition out there, and I honestly don't see myself being able to keep up with the others. I guess maybe I'll start looking into landscape focused videos since that's likely the thing closest to what I currently do🤔

I'll try with the flash settings, but it won't always be there since it involves positioning, output and the flash itself has a zoom setting (which doesn't really matter tbh), so it'll make the behind the scenes even longer🤔 I'll maybe do a video about stacking if I find a way to make it interesting enough to incorporate into a video though. They're just regular off the shelf Taobao doll stands, but I modded them myself🙃

I'd say the stand is as important as any part of my gear, if anything, I couldn't take photos without that stand so you should get one. As for the process, here's a quick rundown: Shoot the photo, keep the camera exactly where it is and take it again after removing the subject, edit them exactly the same way and put the layer with the subject on top and erase the stand out like digital painting. There's more techniques including exposure blending, partial cloning and eyeballing stacks but those are boring to cover, difficult to talk about and largely depends on feeling and experience so I likely won't cover them until later on🤔

Thank you, editing longer videos everytime often gets to me, so I try to cut down on things however I like putting a ton of clips in my videos, glad at least someone appreciates it🫡

What do you mean by the creative process? If you mean looking for the shot, then setting up before the explanation then that's what I'm doing, what exactly are you looking for🤔?

@@AKTKLM I'm just insatiably curious is all. You mentioned dissatisfaction with older shots but I don't understand why as they seem fine to me. I'm curious why you set things up as you do. Why this doll in this pose in this outfit? What is your intention with the shot? Take for example the flash you set far away in the shot on the stairs. Did it do what you wanted it to do? How did you determine the power to use for it? Why are you focus stacking? What is the issue you're trying to fix? You mention lenses but I'm never clear why you choose a wide vs a long one.

A lot of people are rude, especially when it's the certain group of certain people🙃 Going out for photos for years meant I've ran into a lot of these people, but this is definitely the first time I've caught someone standing right behind me for almost the entire setup period on camera🫠

I see Pekora on your photo too😉 From what I know I'm the only one who made Mio, there's several Fubukis here and there but I've only seen one photo of another one, so I'm the only one with both and goes out for photos🤔 Also yes, no security to deal with is good🙃
