      @@contorta960 I’m not really into Andy’s skating. Don’t get me wrong it’s impressive and super creative. However, to me it’s a bit like listening to tech metal guitar players where their virtuosities cool but I’m not really hearing a song. I just don’t feel a flow with Andy’s skating. Though glad he’s out there innovating and kudos to him. I like people who skate like surfers with spontaneity in their style.

    Very soon I want to get a new board. Do you still sell custom ones ? I want 8.0 size with square tails. Tell me what’s the best for street and freestyle skateboard

    • @openSourceskateboards
      @openSourceskateboards  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You can order via www.opensourceboards.com/CAD/SK8CAD-SB.html .
      Deck width is totally up to you - if you're combining street and freestyle, 7.75" - 8.5" is most common. Wider boards create a larger platform for footwork and landing tricks. Narrower boards flip faster and are lighter and more maneuverable. Consider the size of your trucks when choosing width, as this helps with any railstand tricks. I like a width of 8.375" and use it with 8" wide trucks and Waltz Snakes wheels. Square tails are nice for providing more contact area, but they can make rail flips more difficult. Blunted tails are a nice compromise if you're looking for the best of both worlds. (To see what I mean, change the "tail shape" parameter in SK8CAD to 80.)
      If you're interested in a custom laser engraving or simple graphic, shoot me a message via the contact page on the website.
      Thanks!

      Send me an email here: www.opensourceboards.com/contactform.htm and I'll get back to you with the actual pricing for a complete with all the parts I use. Just include the specs for your deck. If you want me to choose your specs based on what you've told me for an 8" board, I'm happy to make the design for you based on that. Also, let me know if you're outside of the continental USA, as shipping price will be different.

    Do u think the wheels will affect the slide

    • @openSourceskateboards
      @openSourceskateboards  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To some extent, yes - harder wheels will slide easier (with less effort) since they have less traction than soft wheels.

      Oh no! But, your limitations can be what determines your style! It's great to try everything, but, from what I've seen, when people focus their energy on what they are good at and what comes naturally to them, they are more likely to achieve their goals. We need to work on our weaknesses and limitations for sure, but not forget to leverage our strengths and our differences.
