Al-Fatihah buat Mokthar Dahari....Sesungguhnya ia telah meninggalkan arena bola sepak yg begitu banyak kenangan bersama negara "" Malaysia ""...tetapi di ingatan rakyat Malaysia dan juga negara luar terhadap arwah SuperMokh tak kan terpadam setiap kali ada nye permulaan bola sepak di tengah padang....Kesungguhan SuperMokh bukan pada wang ringgit,pangkat,nama atau pon kedudukan...Tetapi apa yg ada di dalam diri SuperMokh hanyalah demi negeri Selangor dan negara Malaysia...Nama dan juga pendirian SuperMokh mmg susah hendak di cari ganti buat masa sekarang ni....Smoga arwah berada disamping penciptanya dan ditempatkan di kalangan org² yg beriman... pemain paling persis selepas ketiadaan Supermokh bagi aku Safee Sali..dari segi fizikal pun hampir serupa..tapi mungkin iltizam dan semangat SS tak sekuat supermokh..betul kata coach Reduan Abdullah nak berjaya kena kerja keras..tak ada jalan mudah...extra hours in training is needed to be a champion.. nak jadi pemain bolasepak negeri tu pun dah susah..nak jadi yang luar biasa macam Supermokh pasti susahnya dua kali ganda...
Pagi tadi terjumpa cikgu Mad(Ahmad Mahmud) - he always sharing his memories with mokhtar dahari. The key to be success is be optimistic. I'm a Singaporean. And it's true that no one can replace Mokhtar Dahari.Why? Bcoz football in the past is very different from today's football.They are very skillful than today's footballers and defenders during that time will break your legs!Southeast Asia has lot of football talents during that time.Piyapong Pue On (Thailand), Fandi Ahmad (Singapore), Allahyarham Mokhtar Dahari (Malaysia).Now look at present football? All sucks!Today's footballers do not possessed the right attitude as the past footballers.
today's football are all played by sissies. Playing for money. pfft. what a joke. SuperMokh and co (including the great Fandi Ahmad) work a normal job in the morning and trains like hell in the evening. Yet SEA footballers nowadays are considered 'professionals' and SuperMokh and co were considered 'amateurs'. these amateurs will definitely trash the shit out of the current 'professional sissies'. no doubt.
During those days i'll bet every Malay,Chinese,Indian and other races are trully a 1 Malaysia when it comes to football.....everyone who went to the stadium are full of Malaysian spirit....i still remember when i was small boy that my uncle took me to the stadium for the Malaysia vs South Korea match....it was a totally different atmosphere....when the crowd roared it was like a earthquake....i'm not a football fan when i was a kid....i did play football though but not a fan....but during those days Mokthar Dahari is a name everybody would do a commentator when someone got the ball and dribbling it to the goal post.....

Maybe the producer should have also interviewed Korean and Japanese national player such as Cha B Keum and Yamamoto who regularly played against Mokhtar at the time..it would have been something to hear from them..2 of the strongest football nations in Asia at this time..

Al-Fateha buat Allahyarham Mokhtar Dahari. Sungguh menakutkan dan berdebar jantung saya setaip kali Allahyarham mendapat bola dan menuju lari ke gawang Singapura. Waktu itu Singapura ada Arshad Khamis dan raja gelek Dollah Kassim tetapi dengan stiker kembar kita tidak mampu untuk menang jikalau Mokhtar Dahari bermain bagi pihak lawan.
Semoga arwah mokhtar tenang & berbahagia disana..

Malaysian players nowadays wont last half a day training with SuperMokh and co. A movie, biopic would be nice, specifically about him should be made. A prequel of Ola Bola anyone?

Aku nak jadi mcm Arwah Mokhtar .. aku mula ikut kisah dia lepas dia meninggal tahun 91 .. aku darjah 3 .. cuba gilap bakat sampai aku punya peak tingkatan 4&5 gi trial sekolah cikgu tak pilih.. kekawan yg sesame selection main jahat tak pass bola.. dapat gelecek keeper pun kaki kena rentap cikgu ntah rabun ke buat2 tak nampak .. Takdir

A great loss for sure. Sad that he died when his children were very young. But I hope that they are coping well. Something I need to add here. I remember at his peak probably around late 1977 or early 1978 Mokhtar said that he doesn't want to waste his time just playing for Malaysia anymore but would want someone to sign him up to play for the English division. He said that his talent need to be recognised by fans around the world. Please correct me if I am wrong. This I believe is a fact.

@lsmworld Hi Ismworld I am glad someone remembers about Mokhtar and the English division. You are saying that he was invited to play for the English division but declined the offer. Are you very sure about that? My memory tells me that Mokhtar (as he became extremely popular in Malaysia) didn't want to play local football anymore and wanted to join the English division provided some English club signed him up. That is my memory as I recall it. Can any other fans add to this interesting topic?
The England B mgr, the late Sir Bobby Robson, after Eng.B drew 1-1 with Msia, with SuperMokh scorine a gem, asked him to go to England for some trials. Also after Tehran A.Games 74, when Msia won soccer bronze, MD was also offered to play professionally in Iran or ME. Both, he turned down.

They said no one can replace Mokhtar Dahari, actually someone can replace him. SAFEE SALI. He scored a lot of goal, currently with Pelita Jaya for more experience. Because of Pelita Jaya, he's going to be like Mokhtar. But if talking about father, Mokhtar is better :)
