No place in the entire Northeast has as much land as FRO. They still have mountains and mountains that are not open yet. Day passes were stopped because people from outside the area were trashing the place and also why prices were raised. Last I checked. Reading Anthracite really does not make much if any money on FRO.
I dropped my membership in ‘22. I picked it up last month. They are marking all the trails, they are hosting events, they are keeping the riff raff out with proper check ins and parking. As a dirt biker it’s getting better and better. I’m unsure if I was a SxS person that I’d renew. I also do full size stuff(jeep) and there just isn’t anything all that challenging for 4 wheels. But amazing for dirt bikes. Constantly changing. So 4 wheel stuff? Eh, not worth it IMO. Dirt bikes? No brainer worth it.
Agree 100% on day passes. I would rather pay $50 for one day. I live 6 hours away and can't make it there more than once per year so the $200 is just out of hand. It's great for locals though
@@TheBeatenTrail They had a big problem with vandalism and trespassing onto private property. It seems people have slightly more integrity when they are dropping $200+ to ride.
I know someone probably has a more accurate date, but I kept hearing 2025 so I wouldn’t doubt if it’s 2025 or 2026 once they get all the approvals and signs and everything else going. Anything with dcnr usually takes a few years.
Hey, thank you for watching. Appreciate you liking subscribing and commenting! Well, it’s hard to say each of them have their own character, but I’d have to say anthracite outdoor adventure area not only because they gave us a press pass, but I feel it’s good that you can know how far away you are and where you are but famous writing outdoors was always fun in the beginning because we didn’t know where we were and you could just go get lost for the day until you ran into a property line so probably a tossup but I pick AOAA first.
Well, this is just my personal opinion, but Hatfield and McCoy trails are much more manicured in most cases unless you’re speaking about the more difficult trails just recently the royal blue trails have gone through a bit of leveling and rut removal and extra drainage so I would say that the very comparable but I would say that Royal blue trails are rockier in most cases then Hatfield McCoy but again it’s hard to compare thousands of miles of trails each system has. I like them both. I just started to enjoy Tennessee more because they were not as repetitive as the Hatfield McCoy trails all of the Hmt systems, I hope that makes sense
@@TheBeatenTrail Absolutely makes sense, I appreciate the comparison. We'll have to make a group decision lol. Keep up the great videos and safe riding !! Thanks again.
I would love to ride there but honestly too expensive for the 2-3 trips I’d make. Especially with my two boys its simply too expensive. AOAA is my spot.
I would not ride in old coal fields because the dust gets stirred up and I dont want black lung . my mom was a director of nurses at a black lung hospital . and there were some young guys there that had not worked very long in the coal mines and got black lung .

Bring back the days passes.. always fun at fro for the day. Great place to test runs and prep ur rig..
You got that right!

There won’t be day passes in the foreseeable future. They tried it and it was a disaster. FRO doesn’t have a central parking lot like AOAA.
What "failed" or didn't work with the day passes when they did it at Darkwater?

Great video. Love the content.
Appreciate it!
I cancelled my membership earlier this year.
My renewal was up June 2024 and I did not renew, instead I decided to travel further for a better riding experience and it was a good decision.
We're always trying to find new places and trails.
I know I’m off topic here and it doesn’t relate to FRO but has any word been discussed when the old paragon adventure park will reopen?

Thank you for your videos, I'm sure you get this a lot but what is your personal favorite park?

@TheBeatenTrail thanks I appreciate that. I'll be looking forward to more videos.
I’m 40 minutes away. Our gang will not be renewing either when memberships expire
I hear ya. Maybe some day in the future, but for now, just not on my list.
Great video, How are the royal Blue trails compared to Hatfield McCoy ? thinking about it for next year. Thanks.

Less SxS’s the better. Lost trails is insanely boring…
Agree 100%
Bye Bye
