This engine sounds great too, I have the 3.2 version in an A4 S Line. The 4.2 V8 in the S and RS models are just awesome though. Definitely upgrading!

Great video, but are you sure this is the right firing order? This seems to increases variation of the crankshaft speed during operation.

@AdrianosFidi Basically it is animation of what VVT is. variable valve timing. shows u how it is achieved by the variable cog on the rotation of the cam

Very interesting visualisation - it looks like the BKH engine to me? I think I need to watch this through a few times to improve my understanding of how this engine works. I have an oil leak at the top left hand side of the engine as you look at it from in front of the car. Seems like it's the intake cam cover based on your visualisation. Maybe safe to remove this cover and try to reseal it with RTV.

Ludicrously complex timing chain assembly and it's on the back of the engine to boot. Why. Why would they ever design it that way. Have to remove the engine to service it (or pull the transmission and try to repair from underneath?)

      CLS Power
The year 2005 car was rated at 255HP and 248 TRQ. This engine increased in power to around 265 in some models, (I believe the Q5 and A5). I have 105K on the 3.2 and runs like the day I got it, (but fuel mileage is a little better).
