Forget the Rumba, the dance was exquisitely beautiful to watch, always love that song, what a blend of delightful graceful moves with great music, well sung too, not easy to perform all round, I'm moved......10 from me.
Finally Nadiya puts a decent routine together! Who'd have thought it would be for a Rumba! I thought he was strong and showcased his lady beautifully! Decent attempt at basic moves and the expressions were well shown, hope he continues to improve as his was a great week for them imo.
Great song, great acting. The relationship between the two of them was really great. I loved the mood and the costumes. For me, he had a good hip action and there was a good a amount of content in Nadiya's routine. He needs to "brush" his feet , to work more on the movement of his arms and to settle into his hips. It was unsteady at times, but rumba is a tough dance, and he did show a good level of technique, it wasn't lacking content nor performance value. A 6.
I was expecting Nadiya to slap us with overt sexy gyrations wholly unrelated to rumba, but I was pleasantly surprised it was a very emotive performance. Davood looked vulnerable (in a good way) in this dance, and I can feel his pain (good acting there). I like the lines he created with Nadiya but I didn't see any rumba walk done (thus no evidence that he's got the latin hip action done right). But as an overall dance, it was a moving piece of choreography from Nadiya (I can't believe I've said it)... 7
I like your critique today. I was thinking exactly that, when you are dancing any latin rhythm you have to keep the movement through out the entire dance. In this case is the rumba walk. It looks funny if you are dancing rumba and then you are walking like you are going after a soccer ball. Having said that, I totally understand that those type of dances must feel really, really weird to the brits. Think about it, many have to have a drink or two just to gather the courage to talk to the person next to them in a pub. Now, having to walk differently in a dance and having to hold somebody in a way that you would never do in your every day life must be really uncomfortable. It's funny that for anybody with latin blood, usually their personal space is about 3 inches. They talk to your face. If you look at us in the USA and you guys in Britain, we tend to talk at arms lengths. And, if somebody get closer to that we keep walking backwards. So, it is amusing to see this. All I'm saying is that it is hard to dance a rumba, harder than talking to somebody while invading your personal space.
She is a WDSF athlete and not really a choreographer as far as I know, so don't expect much in that regard, it is a sport and not that much an art. However, rumba was always her strong point, not likely you will get better here, unless of course someone is preferring ballet version like last week. As about sexiness, I'm afraid you actually didn't see much of it so far, it was just usual sexiness from competitions ...
It's so hard to master the Rumba, but however this routine was beautiful to watch and it brought me to tears.😢😢💓💓 Nadiya's chorography wasn't too bad but it was a decent effort, IMO it just needed more basic steps and intimacy then it would have been an 8 for me...... Nevertheless great acting from both Davood and Nadiya so a 7 from me in the end.😊😊
I do think he could have had more Rumba and that he is better in Ballroom and I thought it was a tiny bit posy. I do think Nadiya could work on her choreography as there wasn't very many rumba moves. Do think there is alot of improvement but for a Rumba he did great. 7
7. I liked the performance, loved the song but this was not a rumba for me. It was more like a contemporary freestyle. Nadiya doesn't go a week without her choreography being indirectly criticised (not enough rumba content, being out of hold too long, overly showy spins, illegal lifts etc.). I also don't think she grills Davood enough on technique in the same way that we see Oti and Katya work with their partners and, for that reason, I feel bad for him because we'll never know how good he can be.
that's weird- I actually thought he was really good at capturing the feeling of this dance and that his acting skills made the performance really good despite the lack of rumba content...
ok I need to be honest this dance was the most disapointing one, Davood has so much potential but he got partnered with the wrong dancer. In all honesty I hope Nadiya wont be on the show next year. She is very self obsessed and has no talent when it comes to choreography, every week I despise how Davood could have been more succesful if he where partnered with a better dancer

I think he is very good especially as he has never danced before and didn't even like dancing. He has a natural grace and rythym

Loved it well done xx
I wish I looked like Nadiya ❤️ I loved this dance and I love this song!
I really enjoyed this dance thought it was really emotive and really beautiful.

Exquisite looking dance. As a performance I think it was a PB for Davood. I hear what has been said about lack of Rumba content.
Loved it!
It may of not been the best rumba ever on strictly but it wasn't as bad as the judges thought. I actually enjoyed this 💖

Stunningly beautiful.
I thought this really undermarked was quite an enjoyable dance to watch !
Nadiya - Bloody Nora!
great rumba choreo from Nadiya though

I felt like this was way under basic. A beautiful dance but Davood needed more than jus waving his arms everywhere. Rate this a 6

This is where the pro's are at fault, a new dancer doesn't know what is expected. Basics are needed not posing! 6.
to showy which as it happens should be a good thing in this dance but if you push it to far you'll fall and he was on the cusp
Enjoyed the choreo but not enough rumba stuff in there surely?
crying
Maybe not a technically perfect rumba but would have been a great show dance.
This was before Strictly slowly fell apart....don't watch it now..
I thought they were under marked.
god he is really not good at acting which is ironic
that's weird- I actually thought he was really good at capturing the feeling of this dance and that his acting skills made the performance really good despite the lack of rumba content...
Dont understand Nadiya at all, hopefully she's a one season wonder
no you don't understand, she got close to the final

got close to the final...what do you know?
