    Teaching pro’s(Harmon, Ledbetter, etc) refer to what Aimee calls a lateral move as a “bump” to initiate the downswing. Her explanation as to why and what faults are caused without it really makes sense, plus she ties it together with “posting” the left leg which is critical to stopping the slide or lateral move....the first half of this lesson has helped me so much. Great explanation. In another video she mentions keeping the right elbow directed toward the target in front of the belly on the downswing. This really ties and compliments the move she describes here. She is so good, TaDa!

    Her lessons are simple and easy to comprehend. Not too much into the technical details which many times confuse the average golfers and also make the lesson boring. And the best part is Aimee truly understand the mistakes that amateurs tend to make as demonstrate by her. Thanks.

    My favorite video. Watching this lesson, I realized rotation has been the source of my inconsistent shots. After learning to use LATERAL movement, I surprised myself and my golf buddies with great, CONSISTENT shots. It's just AMAZING how this little lateral movement can do for your game. Thank you Aimee!!! You are an incredible teacher. Simply the BEST!!!

    Thanks Amie , this is possibly the best video for left leg. And the drills are matching advice from my coach. My left knee doesn’t straighten and that’s what I am working on. More power to you !

    Awesome instructions! The best part is that Aimee always illustrates the correct ideas by pointing out those common wrong ones that people tend to have in mind leading to wrong swings. The basic of having correct swing is getting rid of the wrong ones. I really benefit from the instruction. Thank you so much!!!

    Your lessons are a huge eyeopener to me, I have been swinginh the Moe Norman way with the bent left knee and wondering why my drives (mainly) are quite short compared to other players. Your ability to explain how to turn etc will make all the difference. My practice swings are already producing a much faster swoosh. Thanks from New Zealand.

    Found the English version. Love what you got here. These drills feel as if they "quiet" the body down and eliminate excess movement.
    My teacher said I unwinded the hips way too much. The swing he wanted me to do feels real "armsy " if that makes sense, but it really isn't. these drills look like they could help with this.
    Thanks for the work.

    gold! great advice about keeping the left knee facing the ball. I have tried the flamingo left leg drill and at times I could hit the ball great, but I didn't know why, just that I was pretty much on one leg, but now I know that drill keeps your left knee/ lower leg facing the ball then your hips clear correctly when you are posted on your left leg instead of just spinning out. you are the only instructor I've seen teach that concept that way! GG

    This is so helpful. I just started a month ago, but hearing the clarity of instruction is encouraging.
    Also, it's cool that this was filmed at Westridge. One of the churches I used to intern at would host their annual missions fundraising tournament there. What was sweeter was that one year, a pair of doctors won and went on to play in some bigger Audi ProAm tournaments (Yes, our missions tournament was also an Audi tournament). Great memories.

    Aimee; Thank you, Thank you. You ought to hear all the rest of the other teachers, say DON'T slide. I think it's to get you coming back for more help, which they have caused. My very best score when sliding to a post was 4 over parr, which for me was SUPER. I am having to start all over again with my posting with the slide, because I listened to the other teachers and quite the slide and had problems right away. I also think it is the cause of my pulling irons shots to the green. I will be sliding to the post of the left leg when I practice now.

    That's so my swing, divot's are coming in toward's my left foot, causing the ball to land just left of the green but with good distance, resulting in a chip or flop and hopefully 2 putt..That's the difference between shooting 40, Instead of a 50 for 9 holes..Great Lesson!

    Aimee, thank you. I noticed on a previous video you wore black trousers. Wearing the trousers made what appeared to be a deeper squat during your transition. Could you take a look at the video (the swoosh vid.
    I believe you substituted a aiming rod for a golf club) and compare your leg action to your other videos. Thanks I was wondering if the motion was a result of the drill or the black trousers making it easier to notice. Thanks again.

    Hey Aimee, thanks again for the videos. Helping me loads :) Just wanted to ask. When I swing at full power, my right foot will often slide accross the floor to my left. During the rotate. Its after I hit the ball and I still look like I finish in a normal position, I just know it's not right and perhaps something I'm doing during the swing is causing this and thus might affect my shots. Thanks :p

    • @GolfWithAimee

      +FairwayJack thank you for your comment. The Iliotibial band (IT band) should feel like it's stretched on lateral shift. You should not feel any exertion or pain.

    Is the fairway wood a swish, or an iron down hit, or something between? I was always told to sweep the fairway woods.

    • @GolfWithAimee
      @GolfWithAimee  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      th-cam.com/video/Fr5Cv-9w4Ss/w-d-xo.html here is the link to the fairway wood lesson. You should swing the same way for the irons and the fairway woods. However, the longer the club, the rhythm is going to be slightly different. and the circle you draw with the club head is bigger, so it should feel more of a "brush" through the ball.

    Aimee do the hands lead on the downswing after the hips move ?

    • @GolfWithAimee
      @GolfWithAimee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joe, the main reason for the hip turn in the downswing is to turn the shoulders. The shoulder turn will swing the hands and the club through. We want to lag and release during the shoulder turn. That being said, I wouldn’t say the hands lead after the hips move. I hope this helps! Thanks 😊
