Hey, I live in Belarus, 300 kilometers from MTZ plant, my friend works there and tests new models of MTZ . The name of the plant is "Minsky Traktorny Zavod". MTZ is produced in BELARUS in MINSK!!!
That sure sounds like a gutsy little two stroke they use to start it. This system was used on older International TD 24 Bull dozers, You never had to worry about a flat battery on cold mornings. 5 Stars - Excellent Video
Glad to see you guys are picking up the F-word from us! That old bird starts just like an old John Deere diesel or cat with a pup motor. Not a bad idea when you live somewhere that it gets really cold.
@Torvikholm Yes, you are quite right of course, I was not being totally serious in my last post. plus of course two-stroke petrol engines do not have any sump oil to jellify in extreme cold either
Well, thats a hell of a way to start a tractor. Here in America, we stick a key in it, or push a button, or a starting handel. But whatever way you cut it, Russian tractors suck.
so is that a gas two-stroke starter engine to start the diesel? we just put the tractor inside, plugged in the block heater, and left it running 24/7 (-22ºf -30ºc hasn't got that cold here in 12 years). gas starter, that's smart.
to start this tractor at winter you need 1fill radiator with warm water 2start 2stroke motor with hand or el. motor 3 turn on the cluch whos conect little engine and big engine4 you need to off the clutch and turn off the little engine when big engine starts. After work you need to empty radiator because ice will broke radiator and engine.
@mrspivvy OR, a petrol engine you can just fill up with gas, when you need to start the Diesel during the cold Siberian winters, rather than spendign a week to charge the all to cold electrical battery. I presume you know that a battery looses capasity in cold weather. I doubt that a battery has enought currensy to start the diesel during the cold winters of Russia.
@andy72xbox yes they callthem a pony motor because there small cat john deere mtz those are a few tractors and dozers that use them they work good but are a little slow at starting
@joskaaa I don't know any person, who uses winter cooling liquid in these tractors, since all hoses in them are leaking :D But it's still a good machine, cheap and simple.
so let me guess, there is a 2 stroke engine(weed eater or chainsaw) that you started via a rope on the flywheel then once the mini 2-stroke was running you engaged that into the tractors flywheel somehow then turning the tractors engine over. wow.
Do you think that MTZ's/Belarus Tractors are high quality tractors? Do you think that they're (among) the best tractors? Are the old MTZ's high quality?
so it isnt cold in siberia(russia)? and i agree that the u.s and the UK should get with the program and use the metric system. i think the problem for the brittish is that the metric system is a french invention.
Stare modele MT3 miły rozrusznik spalinowy, chyba taki sam jak mają DT 75 turbo (tak mi się wydaje po dzwięku silnika rozruchowego bo taki sam jak w moim DT75)
nothing too funny - he is just fixing it,starting from engine directly. This tractor is cheap like nice bike in America and still does what it needs (it is actually old model - older then most of the commentators here)
MTZ is a russian tractor! The Belarus is the small brother of the MTZ, what is not russian but the MTZ is RUSSIAN. And the other brother of the MTZ is the romanian UTOS tractor. xOlIiEkIlLax - the starter engine is a 2T, but the master engine is 4T diesel.
ur buddy needs to do better work then somehowthal alwous fail to start witout a other tractor mtz engine is the worst engine there is its like my spelling

Ew no, it’s an effort to start it up
This starting method is very good. In very cold winter, a tractor as old as this, which is started by starter won't start, but this will start :)
these are some of the best tractors look how far they have came there all over the world
What? The Belarus tractors?
Glad to see you guys are picking up the F-word from us!

it is like starting an early catapillar tractor petrol donky engine first to turn over the main diesel awesome
DP-12 "Dvigatel' Puskovoy 12" has 350 cc cylinder and a power of 12 hp.
ништяковый трактор. неубиваемый
that's the same way how I start my lawn mower :p
@Torvikholm Yes, you are quite right of course, I was not being totally serious in my last post. plus of course two-stroke petrol engines do not have any sump oil to jellify in extreme cold either
Thank God for Glow plugs and electric starters, haha Would not be fun startin the tractor like that everyday lol
Its a petrol running starting engine wich you start with a rope..
Well, thats a hell of a way to start a tractor. Here in America, we stick a key in it, or push a button, or a starting handel.

seperate engine to start the main one?
@joskaaa No you wrong. You have to worry. You need to fill the radiator with warm water.after use fill it on the floor because ice will broke him.
so is that a gas two-stroke starter engine to start the diesel? we just put the tractor inside, plugged in the block heater, and left it running 24/7 (-22ºf -30ºc hasn't got that cold here in 12 years). gas starter, that's smart.
@joskaaa it also heats big engine a bit because they bouth have a common cooling system

All the John Deere's on our farm had donkey engines when I was growing up....start the donkey and then use it to start the diesel. Old tech.
Muy buen video, yo tengo un Sidena M310, original Belarus mexicanizado. cuan es su verdadero nombre en ruso y si hay algun video por ahi.
Good job!
Ist das eine fahrbare Kettensäge? Zumindest hört sich das so an.
in reality is was much longer but I cut out a minute.. lol
A 2 cycle tractor?! Soviet agriculture, says it all (shakes his head).
@andy72xbox yes they callthem a pony motor because there small cat john deere mtz those are a few tractors and dozers that use them they work good but are a little slow at starting
hehe davei davei roboust technic very good
Haha, 'normale' good job!!
added f/f
Two-stroke twin-cylinder pony motor, just like on a T-150.
sweet i wish i was there
@joskaaa I don't know any person, who uses winter cooling liquid in these tractors, since all hoses in them are leaking :D But it's still a good machine, cheap and simple.
1:03, and just before that when the pup engine quits.
thath sounded like a chainsaw
so let me guess, there is a 2 stroke engine(weed eater or chainsaw) that you started via a rope on the flywheel then once the mini 2-stroke was running you engaged that into the tractors flywheel somehow then turning the tractors engine over. wow.
MTZ-80
Do you think that MTZ's/Belarus Tractors are high quality tractors? Do you think that they're (among) the best tractors? Are the old MTZ's high quality?
@BikesXtreme that's right
Most of russian tractors had a 50cc engine to start up the main engine...
so it isnt cold in siberia(russia)? and i agree that the u.s and the UK should get with the program and use the metric system.
i think the problem for the brittish is that the metric system is a french invention.

The starter engine is 2 cycle, but main engine is 4 cycle diesel
Starting sounds like a chain saw.
yeah right.
@BikesXtreme which is still russian cos belarus is in russia, i got a belarus 920 old shape and a belarus 560
actually,the starter engine is 350cc
what? i live in the uk and we already use metric. its only the old folk who grew up with imperial that still use it.
im not on about the country mtz tractors are badged as belarus in the uk here
newer Belorus tractors don't need these donkey engines anymore - my father owns 1998 model and it uses electric starter
and Danmark the capital of Europe :-)
jak to jak odpalił?

@BikesXtreme Well i guess he mean't the soviet union.
He pulls starting engine.
ok, so this tractor uses an engine to start an engine?
It is a 2 stroke!!!
MTZ is from Belarus.
ja on go odpalił i

xOlIiEkIlLax - the starter engine is a 2T, but the master engine is 4T diesel.
it's not a russian tractor but ok

Leave it to fuchin Russions to put a rip cord on a tractor
ur buddy needs to do better work then somehowthal alwous fail to start witout a other tractor mtz engine is the worst engine there is its like my spelling
