I'm proud of James, and I hope Sammi is too. This revolving door of Sammi, Kyle, James and Ellie, Sammi must appreciate what James just risked for his brother and sister, and I'm sure Kyle will use it against Sammi eith James' trust hopefully being restored in his family.

I love the fact that you're tackling issues of mental health, but there's a deep contrast between real life care, and care depicted in Hollyoaks. The main issue is that getting help with mental health isn't as simple as getting a bed in a local hospital, for starters hospitals are packed, and mental health patients go to specific psychiatric units. They're either admitted voluntarily, or under Section of the Mental Health Act 1983, and Hollyoaks kind of downplays the process of being sectioned (speaking from personal experience) and the kind of unit you go to.
In real life Alfie would be detained under a Section 2 which is a 28 day observation period, and because of the severity of his symptoms, depending on how he reacts to medication, would likely be given a Section 3, which is a treatment period that can last up to 6 months with limited yet increasing freedoms. He'd be detained with very deranged people, violent, drugs/alcoholics, it would not be a nice environment, and I would kind of like the reality of that experience to be depicted in Hollyoaks because that's what is true to the experience in real life.
However, I understand that Hollyoaks tries to encourage people to come out about their issues and talk to people and seek help, homosexuality, abuse, depression, suicide, self harm, mental health problems, etc, so I do understand that by downplaying the actual reality of it all it further encourages people to take action, as opposed to hiding further away from the disappointing realities of real life. So I do understand why the whole truth isn't told, even though I'd like to see it.
