Remember, Stay firm on your price. Do not engage in haggling. But if you do haggle make sure you price your cards 20% over comp. That way people will think they are getting a good deal. It’s all about perception. You’re gonna crush it!!
I price every card FIRM and right on market - keeps it simple.. some like it some hate it.. but I'm busy so games are not my thing.,.. it does work many buyers come back 15mins later like "your rice is right"... and I'm like I know haha
the table/case should have some organized thought around telling a story; a confusing case/table wrecks peoples' brains, increases cognitive overhead, and they probably just move on instead of scanning/staying more focused on the cards; second thought, experiment/change based on visual cues and questions; it's a physical UI design
Stranger Things collectors felt a disturbance in the force as one of the largest collections of Stranger Things cards is being dismantled for big bucks at Culture Collision. This solidifies Bob Boozle as greatest Stranger Things collector.
as I collector I have no idea how to pick from my collection cards to sell at a show… I’d be like.. no…no…no… and would have no cards to sell.. lol…. good luck… even cards I can get at anytime I just want the ones I already have… good luck at the show… looking forward to see the results in a future video...
It's possible to collect sharp cornered vintage cards and not fearing that it's trimmed. You just have to learn how to spot the obvious signs of trimming, like noticing "bat-ear" edges, etc. In other words, you can collect sharp cornered vintage cards with confidence if you educate yourself
Just overprice everything above comps like most dealers. And be prepared for kids and people to comp you to death bc everyone is a dealer at shows no matter if they stand behind a table or in front of if. But In all seriousness good luck. Make sure you have value boxes. Those are always the most popular at the huge shows
Smart of Steve to take someone that makes him look better 🤪 Alf is looking forward to some peace and quiet! Hope it’s a great show Brother! Safe travels!
Hope you and Steve have a great time - that's what the "hobby" is all about - having fun. You know what you are doing....it's everyone else that's confused....LOL. Enjoy!
I often hear the topic of curating or consolidating as a major topic of conversation. Since the card cycle has been coming down off highs, collector behavior has reacted. I believe the driving force behind the consolidating behavior is fear or greed. What isn't talked about very much is WHICH cards we should be seeking to consolidate into and WHY that is... I wish there was more conversation or enlightenment on "why" do it. Personally, I've been very disciplined in seeking collections to buy that come from lifetime collectors as selling cards help fund my collecting. However, most of my buying is from older collectors who have what I compare to aged wine in sports cards. There's a history of the "why" I spend my money on these types of collections. Generally speaking I get to see cards that don't see the light of day from a card show....I think to myself, if this old time collector kept this item in the collection for many decades, I should also pay attention to their why. I guess what I'm saying is it's wise to consider a bit of what our elder collectors say and have done that we can learn from so we know what is wise to consolidate into.
Have fun! I’m still looking to go to my first one. Was out of town for last local one and one before I forgot what day it was. I’m retired, so that’s easy to do. I rarely know what day it is. Hahaha

I like the collage going on in back... time for some shelves!!!
Wish you luck
Good luck… I recently had my first show as a dealer after 30+ years of collecting. Went well… but yes it is a lot of work to get ready for the show.
Congrats on getting a card you have been looking for on the Wolverine!
Thanks!

You have no idea what you're doing? You should open a 14,000 sq ft card store!
Another tip, ebay comps isn't everything.
Color stickers for pricing
Have fun #1 thing. Remember you cannot make everyone happy.

Thanks Jay, is it better to put the same ‘character’ or player cards together? Or mix it up?

Ahahaha :) Bob I wish you would show up at the show. That would make the weekend perfect to meet the legend face to face
Have a table helper to keep a lookout for thieves.

I’ve set up at a few. My biggest thing I can recommend is to be different. So many modern card tables and it’s nice to have something different.

Remember when all the jacklegs used to say, “level up”????? That was so cute….
Kids at card shows are RUTHLESS. They will attempt to hustle the shoes from your feet if not checked. Lol
OMG IK THEY WOUKD SAY will u sell it for this or will u buy it for $2 I’m like dude

STAY FIRM AND BE WILLING TO NEGOTIATE WITHOUT LOOSING MONEY OF ITS NOT THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOU JUST SAY HEY THANKS FOR THE OFFER BUT ILL HAVE TO PASS
U don’t im shocked
When I sold the Wolverine auto to you I made a lateral move, I used the funds to buy some vintage Arthur Adams original art of Wolverine & Spider-Man.
Was that really you as the seller? That's cool and thanks for making the deal! A card I had been searching for a long time
What up
Sell at 169% comps, buy at 69% comps, make sure you vlog every transaction and complete it with a catch phrase, and most importantly pump KD cards
I’ll make sure to reference ‘69’ as much as possible in the vlog video lol

Dont over think this. The best cards of players with the most championships and break the most records hold value over time
Have fun, get ready for phone comp checks, they'll let you know if you're too high............hahaha

You'll be okay! Enjoy the other side of the table.
I've never been a dealer but even as a buyer, I get hungry... If I were a dealer, I'd bring a small cooler with some drinks and snacks.
Was your wife happy you did this? If yes, it’s a win
1A? I see you
All cards go to zero, so it’s no biggie (even if it is nitch)……
We’re on to your angle Boxer lol
