I have both of them. For long listening, Bose 's natural sound doesn't make your ears tired for any sort of music played on it. It never muffles even on highest volume (it has internal software that automatically adjust the Bass as volume goes high). Marshall is best for Jazz and classic. And vocals.
Just listened in a store, Marshall far better, but I don't care about volume. Bose lost too much bass at higher volume and was muffled sounding at low volume. There is probably a sweetspot but I will definitely get the Marshall.
I like more the sound of marshall is more clear, the bose mini sounds a bit messi and the one speaker in front does`nt make a bigger fullfilling room sound...Marshall is the winner in my opinion...especially when you think about -what the price is...and what you get for this..
I have the Bose SoundLink mini 2 and a friend of me has the marshall emberton. I listened to both of them at a party, pretty high volume. My Conclusion: for high volume I prefer the marshall one but if you use your speaker almost daily as Soundbar/ ambient speaker with volume under 75-80% you have a clean and natural sounding speaker, which feels really good and sounds pretty good.
Speaker playing at your end, picked up by the microphone, encoded by your software, re-encoded by youtube, played through my headphone. I wish you mentioned how you felt it.

I agree, marshall emberton is much better sound quality even thou bose has better visual design. I love the feel and the look at bose but emberton wins over the sound quality

I have the sound mini 1 and the Marshall emberton that i bought for my son …..there is no comparison….. Bose better by far.:…. The emberton is like a toy beside the sound mini. Also have the stanmore 2, that is a better sounding Marshall.
Really? My Emberton sound really good for rock music. Try listening to "You shook me all night long" by AC/DC, my Emberton sounds very good, I could hear the detail and audio seperation not to mention the very wide soundstage. I also found out that putting the Emberton against a wall or corner of a room make the bass bigger but it might make the sound muddier.

Marketing leading, more than brand. 40 years ago their patents were impressive, but living on the their laurels for some time have been keeping them from really outperform their competitors. You always find something better than their devices in the same range/category

I prefer Emberton for clearer sounds and balanced bass, Bose sounds muffled and too much bass for my taste.
