Great tutorial. I’m sure everyone who watches you regularly would agree that you are very generous with your free content and I, for one, really appreciate that. Plus, you’re great fun! Thank you so much 🙏
Gum Arabic is something I have never used, but after this tutorial I am very eager to give it a go. Thank you so very much for all your tutorials I have learned so much. Also, pay no mind to those few negative people out there. The great majority of your viewers appreciate all you teach us. Love your cat too. ❤
Thank you so much for all you provide for us. I can't believe that someone had a go at you for promoting your courses!!! How else are we supposed to find out what you have? On your website I know, but when we don't know you, its the best way to start to know you. Personally I love to see in these tutorials what you have upcoming or is just about to drop. In other words - I love that you promote your courses. This wonderful instruction on gum arabic, thank you so much.
Have wondered what one would use gum arabic for, and know I know! Thanks. Also thanks to Gimlet for being such a helpful kitty -- like ALL kitties are!
Another excellent and fun video Michele. Please keep promoting everything you do! A video on Gum Arabic for water effects would definitely be of interest. Thank you!
Hi, and thanks for showing how to use gum arabic, I would love to see that about water reflections! I LOOOVE waterpaintings. I have never used the gum arabic. I wanna explore this medium, for sure.
This is coming out of left field ….. way out. I enjoy watching 2 artists on you tube, both English, and one is you Michele. Your magnolia painting reminds me of 1940’s wall paper, which I love. Beautiful bright color and a certain drawing style that to me is the best and most interesting in the world. Every day your work brings a smile to my face and I thank you.
Thanks for sharing Gimlet! sharing your philosophies of life is fun! I am taking your flower course and I already see great improvement in my paintings, i cant wait to take more of your classes!
Hair staightener! hahaha, you still have loads of hair compared to me (mine is poker strait as well). I don't like games much either. Too funny, thanks for sharing in more subject than one! love it.
Yay background tutorials! I have so much trouble with backgrounds, especially if ive painted something with little details. I often love drying lines, but sometimes if you've got a lot of detail you have to go around you end up with a bold outline of your image. "Slight feeling of madness about it, but thats just my painting style" also my living style 😅 magnificent ❤
Could you mount your camera to the board that you are working on? There is a photography tool called a copy stand. It has a camera mount in the middle and two or more lights on the sides for oblique lighting. While using a manufactured stand would not work for you, because the structure of the supports would get in your way, you could set up a similar rig, with two or more oblique lights, and a turntable in the middle, to let you rotate the painting without altering your ability to work. (Sorry, I'm a fixer. I have experience from another form of work, that I think might be useful to you. It is well meant.)
Thank you for reminding me about Gum Arabic, I like to pain reflexions .... not very successfully I'm afraid but I'd love you to explain water reflections and, shaddows, I have trouble understanding where shaddows on buildings should fall. I love your tutorials on any kind and have learned so much. Thank you.
Thank you again for another great lesson. I love the boldness of your painting style! I purchased some gum arabic for the landscape course and can't wait to try it on a background! Looking forward to the floral course, my favorite subject to paint. As a future topic, I would be interested in some ideas on how to paint foreground foliage like ferns and potted greenery in a landscape foreground.
Your mention of ants sparked an idea. What about little insect studies? There might be some interesting techniques to explore, such as how to mimic the metallic iridescence of beetles and the soft powdery-ness of butterfly wings.
I first came across gum Arabic in your landscape course, to see how you use it here is useful too. How else does one use it? I find white ( as in petals ) difficult to meister as a beginner but, it was interesting to watch. Also when I saw your name & a magnolia picture I thought, I’ve seen this video?! But, no, you’ve done similar ones with Magnolia buds etc. as I looked through them! Thanks

Love this! Love your new hairdo!
Thank you! It's more of an anti hairdo, I just stopped cutting it!

Thank you! My website is not always up to date, I need to tackle it... so many things to do!
Who goes on an art tutorial channel then complains because the instructor offers art courses? People are so crazy. LOL
Even more important: an art turorial channel that gives you FREE tutorials - perhaps we should get paid for watching 🤣
Lol, thank you!
Not to mention the British vocabulary lessons! Stodge to describe food was a new one on me! 😂
Have wondered what one would use gum arabic for, and know I know! Thanks. Also thanks to Gimlet for being such a helpful kitty -- like ALL kitties are!
Our pleasure!
Another excellent and fun video Michele. Please keep promoting everything you do! A video on Gum Arabic for water effects would definitely be of interest. Thank you!
Thank you! Will do!

I love the boldness of your florals, they’re so gorgeous. You’re looking pretty good for living on air too 😉
I'm vegan so I eat grass too ;-)

You gave me a good giggle telling us about your sponsorship offers! Thank you!
Any time!
Dragons? Fairies? I know you do more florals, but watercolor lends itself to fantasy topics beautifully.
Great suggestion!
You had me rolling! I love your tutorials and your quirky sense of humor is surprising!

Thanks for watching!
Beautyfull!! really sweet, Thank you Michelle!!
Glad you like it!
This would be great for painting adjacent sections, you don’t need to wait until it dries before proceeding to the next section.

Thank you for your tutorials, loving your cat. 😻
Thank you! 😊 I won't tell him, he's very vain!
Have one that looks like him. Just rehomed a white female today. Cat mad I think. ❤️

Thanks so much 😊
I loved every minute of this tutorial. ❤❤ Especially the rant about sponsorships. 😅 ants yes, video games no. 😊
Yay, thank you!

I did a Magnolia bud yes :-)
Loved your comment that you would choose to study ants than play a video game. So cool.
I think that on an island, you would draw in the sand.
Yes!
My Gum Arabic has turned dark brown. Time to replace?
Probably!
You could take the game sponsor and say "I hate games but these guys gave me money so if you don't hate games check them out "
Brilliant, they probably wouldn't pay me though :-)
Sorry but I’m late to the video, but can you confirm that you are using the gum Arabic neat?
It's not diluted, but I do add some water to my brush before applying.
I don’t like games either. Glad to know I’m not the only one. Don’t like anything competitive really. Cooperation rules.
Why no Christmas
I may do something yet... I have a winter landscape challenge coming up :-)
❤😂
