I can relate! Have you read “Jesus’ Biological Father was Joseph: According to the New Testament” by DS WAGGONER? Even just reading the few free “sample” pages shows us the church has been hiding things from us about the Christian Bible. That’s why we have to deep dive study and ask the taboo questions

Dr. tabor. Thanks for sharing your knowledge this way. It's immensely generous of you.
I'm an art historian and very much NOT a specialist in the ancient Near East. So it's a pleasure to be able to listen and learn what i might have if i had gone a different direction as an undergraduate.
I also still teach the introductory art history surveys and while they are not challenging courses to teach, i do get students with questions that would be better addressed by a specialist, on occasion. This happens especially when it comes to the three big Abrahamic religions and the historicity of the Bible and Quran.
So, I'm sure you realize just how useful a resource videos like this are. So many people want the truth about what we really know from an academic perspective - and the world is full of people shouting at each other about things they take on faith alone.

  • @ji8044

Absolutely brilliant presentation, love Tabor's work, except the Mt of Olives couldn't be the place of crucifixion.
All sources that I know of place crucifixions on main roads leading into the cities very public places because of course the purpose was state terrorism. For instance the most famous example was the Spartacus revolt and the 6,000 crucifixions along the Appian Way. Josephus describes crucifixions of hundreds, sometimes thousands and they take place: "they were then crucified before the wall of the city." The Mount of Olives is not only away from the walls, but the people's vision of a crucifixion there would actually have been obscured from below by olive trees which can grow 20-30 feet high.
Moreover, this was not a sui generis crucifixion, because as Josephus tells us about the Romans: "So the soldiers, out of the wrath and hatred they bore the Jews, nailed those they caught, one after one way, and another after another, to the crosses, by way of jest, when their multitude was so great, that room was wanting for the crosses, and crosses wanting for the bodies" Great multitudes of men were sometimes crucified at once and the crosses themselves used over and over again. You're not going to do that in an olive grove or drag bodies up a hill to it
Mark and Matthew identify Golgotha as a place where people pass by while the crucifixion is ongoing, indicating it's on a route of travel. Even John makes no mention of a journey uphill but says it was short enough for a severely wounded Jesus to carry his cross (or more like crosspiece). He then writes: "Pilate had them post a sign over the cross, which was written in three languages-Aramaic, Latin, and Greek. Many of the people of Jerusalem read the sign, for he was crucified near the city" Remember, Jesus is supposed to have been on the cross for few hours at the most before being taken down, so how could many of the people of Jerusalem have read the sign on the isolated 3rd summit in such a short period of time? They would have had to come with a few feet of the cross itself but done so while moving in order to allow others to see.
The answer to all of the above is that Jesus would have been crucified in the normal place where so many went before him and after him, on the road immediately outside one of the gates in the walls.

    • @andrewsuryali8540
      @andrewsuryali8540 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The reason why Dr. Tabor believes the crucifixion happened on the Mt. of Olives is because in Jesus' time it WAS a main road to Jerusalem for the villagers living in Bethany and other villages to the east of Jerusalem mentioned in the gospels. His thesis is that the Romans deliberately crucified him up where his main followers could see him, not the main thoroughfare used by the general public. There's another video (#10 in the series) where he outlines his hypothesis that Jesus was traveling with a large contingent of his followers from Bethany to Jerusalem and back again every day in the last week of his life, and this required him to go up and down the Mt. of Olives. Dr. Tabor is of the belief that Jesus' following in Jerusalem was nowhere near as huge as described in some of the synoptics and that it was instead concentrated in the geographical area east of the city as mentioned in the gospels, so the Romans killed him specifically in front of his followers rather than somewhere most people wouldn't know him.

Since I've been watching you, and learning more about the night christ was crucified, why wouldn't Jesus's family told the disciples "dont worry, we took his body here." If John and Jesus were tight, why wouldn't he been told? Did they not like each other? Jesus's mother Mary and the other Mary were at the crucifixion. (?)
I mean, so if I was Mary Magdalena and I went to the tomb and Jesus wasn't there, I'd freak out! I run back to the disciples, get them and then run to Mary the mother and tell her too!!
It just doesn't make sense for them not to tell the disciples or Mary, "hey, we got him." Even if they didn't like each other. They would've known it seems.
    But I'm not ejamahkated so🤷🏼‍♀️.

7:32 My position on the gaps in Mark is he’s not allowed to talk about Lazarus; whom I think is the beloved disciple as well as a priest. He’s also the unnamed disciple in Chapter 1. But he does hint at the “Bethany crowd.” And whoever they are, he presents them as being unknown by the disciples - although they seem to know who THEY were.
And I go the exact opposite on timing. Mark knew about (at least parts of) John’s gospel. Because I think large portions were written before the Temple was destroyed.

I have a question about tombs and cemeteries in general. During those times, who or how were tombs allocated for dead bodies? I imagine, as it is today, you would have to buy a moseleum. Who was building tombs, how were they purchased (if they were purchased), or who decided who got a tomb or not and who got 6 feet of dirt?
How did jesus afford a tomb? Im trying to understand the culture. Were tombs reused?

I agree with your reasoning except for Lazarus. I think he is James. And Lazarus is his spiritual name. Giving someone a meaningful psuedonym is common in the mysteries.
I have a personal story backing this up. I needed a pen name for my autobiography but couldn't think of one so l meditated and asked the holy spirit for one. While walking home alone l looked up and saw in illuminated letters in my mind's eye the words "Hope Bodes Well." My inner voice then said: "you can use this to put a godspell of hope on anything you do or say with the loving intention of helping free people from fear, shame, and despair. Hope it bodes well." :)
Yesterday l opened a 1993 revised version of the Catholic bible l inherited from my mother's estate in 2016 because a previous video of yours got me interested in the gospel of John and l saw they had an introduction. Guess what the first paragraph said? "Godspell is an Anglo Saxon word meaning good news." Of course in means more in my message but it is interesting they admit even that much. This is one of the many snchronicities that pop up in my life.

The book of John adds additional events or someone adds additional events to John……..???
A bit more research would uncover the addition of a passover which adds 2 more years to the ministry of Yeshua.
Totally at odds with the synoptics.
We should all show more respect for the original manuscript of John and not blindly accept the current form.
James, while you are drawing lines through passages you don’t agree with, make sure you draw a line through this added passover verse.

I love your videos and research. With respects to that, I have to offer another point of view from the Near Eastern traditional perspective. There's a reason Mark doesn't know as much as John. Mark created a shorter version of Matthew. Western scholars have it backwards. It is silly to assume Mark, who never knew Jesus, came before Matthew, who btw, did know Jesus. And John's gospel is different for a reason. John's gospel (message) is showing us the inner person of Jesus. It is a mystical/psychological gospel. ◇ Okay, I may share more as I listen to more of this great video. Thanks. Shlama lookh (Peace to you)

I really appreciated your sharing of the essene jubilee lunar calendar. It was cool to see how simple it was to use along with John's clue about the last supper being held six days before Passover. It was interesting to see it fell in their calendar on the exact same day as the spring solstice and that it means that in the version of the Jesus story he tells Jesus died on March 25th and rose from the dead on the 29th good friday which happens to align with the churches dates for Easter. But the Jewish Passover dates in the jubikee calendar didn't align with the dates the rest of the jews used because their calendar is a lunar one where every holiday fell on the same day ever year, but the rest of the jews used a lunisolar one. That is why he could have been arrested by the high priest on the solstice. The day of preparation fell later in the week. They would have turned him over to protect themselves because they no longer considered him one of them. He had left the religious hive mind where you have to think and speak alike and was thinking and talking like a person who had experienced cosmic consciousness.

About the beloved disciple being James the brother of Jesus... At 10:40, Dr. Tabor begins looking at the passage where Jesus charges the beloved disciple with looking after his mother. The dialog is "Woman, behold your son" and "Behold your mother." But if those two are mother and son, their relationship doesn't have to be pointed out to them. The dialog makes more sense when it serves to create a new relationship which then explains why the disciple took Jesus' mother into his own home.

John is key as he was the beloved son that Jesus entrusted his mother to. John had Christ's ear and most likely more in depth wisdom than the other Apostles. Mother Mary was a guiding force for the Apostles in the early church for 15 years. John became the Bishop of Ephesus and the author of the book of Revelation on Patmos. He definitely lived a full life.

Synoptics are 3 Same, 1 Different.
Apostles are in 3 sets of 4, plus Judas. It is entirely recursive onto itself.
      Creation is 6+1 (3x+1 where x is 2, 6 days creating, 1 not)
The Genealogies of Jesus also play with this formula, as do the events of his life.
3x+1 where X is the Subject. Knowing this is "self reference" is mind melting. This is what we use for modern encryption.

The Lord Jesus is The Prophet Foretold by Moses
Deuteronomy 18:15-19 - The Foretold Prophet
    15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16 According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
The LORD told Moses that he was going to raise up a Prophet from the midst of Israel who will be like Moses in that he would speak unto the people ALL the God shall command.
The Lord Jesus is/was that prophet foretold by Moses...
John 5:39-47 Jesus of Nazareth tells the Jews, He is That Prophet
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
The Lord Jesus was getting challenged by the Judaeans for things that he had done and said. When they he questioned him, above is the answer he gave in John 5:39-47.
Later, in John 7 the Judaeans marvelled at his doctrine - how could he say and know these things? They were answered by Jesus of Nazareth...
    John 7:15-24
15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Then after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and being seen by more that 500 brethren this occurred in the book of Acts...
Acts 2:14, 22-32 The Apostle Peter Explains to the people..
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
    30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
And in Acts 3:19-23 The Apostle Peter Confirms JESUS as THAT PROPHET
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Then Stephen the Evangelist also confirmed Jesus of Nazareth as THE PROPHET spoken by Moses...
    ACTS 7:37-41
37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
As THAT PROPHET THE LORD JESUS spake not his own words, but words that came from THE FATHER, THE GOD OF ISRAEL.

To identify the beloved disciple, it is vital to take into account the Secret Gospel of Mark where the rich young ruler is approaching Jesus at night, "Jesus looked at him and loved him!" The next scene is at Bethany and a certain woman, whose brother had died, led Jesus to the tomb, he enters and grasps the youth's hand raising him. "And the youth looked at him, and loved him." He and Jesus spend a week together in the house he owned for the youth was rich. Although no one is named in Mark's account, It's easy to see that this is the raising of Lazarus otherwise only referred to in the gospel of John. I think there was a name change. What do you think?

James. Your thesis that James was the disciple that Jesus loved is specious . Both James AND John are not named and by your own argument from absence John is equally as likely. Elsewhere it also infers that this disciple had a long life, which John fits but James doesn't. Hence your argument is specious.

The Book of Matthew says Joseph from Arimathea wrapped Jesus' body in linen. He placed Jesus' body "in his own new tomb." It was cut out of rock with a large stone at the entrance.
Mark and Luke say the exact same thing. John says the same thing too up to verse 41 where you say he is referring to a secondary tomb. I don't see why you came to this conclusion as fact, Dr. Tabor. Why couldn't the tomb in the garden have been the very tomb that Joseph of Arimathea owned? Just because the tomb was close to the crucifixion doesn't mean they are not the same tomb. Hypothetically speaking consider this: 1. They were both new tombs. 2. They were both cut out of rock with a large stone placed in front. You yourself said that sort of tomb is rare in one of your lectures. You mentioned that it's rare to have a large rock at the base of a tomb. So what are the odds of a new secondary tomb with a rollaway stone that was available? Especially when such a tomb is rare?
Also, what are the odds that they would have deposited Jesus' body in a tomb that was no doubt owned by someone else? They would have had to seek permission to leave it there. Which would have taken more time finding its owner and negotiating a deal than taking Jesus' body directly to the designated tomb. I feel that Joseph would have been anxious to take Jesus to the tomb he had chosen for him. I don't see him/them wanting to return the next day and move his body to another tomb. It's one of those things you'd want to do on the same day. I don't feel that the day of Preparation would have taken precedence over Jesus' burial that day.
Also, the linen cloths they wrapped him in were left behind. Why would they do that? It doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't they out of respect for him leave the linen cloths on him? I say it's because Jesus' body magically disappeared when his spirit ascended to heaven and the linen cloths were left behind as proof that he had risen. I also believe that the tomb mentioned in all four Gospels are one and the same. In saying that, I still enjoyed your lecture, Dr. Tabor, it was very interesting and thought-provoking as always.🧚✨💫

Thanks for the sensible post. It is my understanding that Jewish Law in the first century required post-mortem blood issues to be interned with the deceased. That was one of the purposes of a burial shroud: to retain post-morten blood with the body. The idea that Jesus' disciples carried away a 170 lb. corpse but deliberately neglected three lbs. of essential cloth does not make sense.
Dr. Tabor was kind enough to reply to my inquiry about the Turin Shroud. He places credence on the conclusion of the British Museum that the Shroud is a medieval artifact. While this is certainly understandable, it seems that 21st century research has falsified the Museum's conclusion.

Having a trial location outside the city walls makes me doubt the very existence of the via Dolorosa (not just whether the path was correct). If you’re doing trials outside the city walls, why would you bring the condemned back inside and then out another gate? You’d probably drag them to the nearest hill and crucify them there. Are there any hills nearby that are prominent enough from Jerusalem or from a road into it to be a crucifixion location?

The historic narrative about John's gospel is that it was filler information - that John was well aware of the stories that had already been written about Jesus. His gospel contains very little of that well traveled information. His gospel comes out and says that there are a lot more things that could be told about the life of Jesus.
I think Tabor is trying to get traction on his narrative by pointing out that John's gospel isn't Mark's gospel. It takes a very weak mind to fall for that kind of positioning.
"There are a million stories in the Naked City. This is just one of them."

The problem with Tabor and others like him describing old findings is they think that after those biblical figures that lived here and there, had their homes immediately covered up and preserved, knowing that future persons who dig it up will discover exactly what those previous owners lives like. It does not make sense that these same dwellings had hundreds of others, HUNDREDS, live in these same places for many many years after those figures passed away, and one of those others put in pots or added mosaics. Maybe if Tabor can provide an autobiography penned from these figures themselves saying, "oh look at this 3 foot pot I personally have in my house in this room. No one else did it. I Ananias did". Such farcical stories they weave, and you all eat it up!

I believe John only recorded what he had personally seen or heard or what a reliable witness reported to him. An example of a reliable witness, regarding Peter's 3 denials of Christ. In John 18:26,27, John records that a high priest's servant, "a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged [Peter], 'Didn't I see you with him in the garden?' Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow." So John had a reliable witness to verify Peter's account.
John does not record anything about anxious Jesus praying in the garden which is recorded in the other 3 gospels. It may be that John, he was a youngster, quickly fell asleep and did not wake up until Jesus woke them up.
In John 13:2, it is mentioned that there is an evening meal in progress, but there is no mention of what we call the Lord's Supper in connection with the evening meal. [Now John, in chapter 6, has Jesus giving an attention grabbing lesson on "the bread of life". Jesus tells us, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." ][Spiritually, we need to do our best to fully take in Jesus for Him to direct our lives.] As to not much being directly associated with the evening meal in verse 13:2; Hoever, after that evening meal, very much is associated with that day.
Keeping in mind that Jewish days start with sundown and ends with the next sundown. Whereas our days, technically, go from midnight to midnight, Jewish days go from sundown to sundown. The evening meal in John 13:2 is actually at the start of the preparation day for Passover. It is on this preparation day (for Passover) that Jesus washes the disciples feet, breaks bread (after the evening meal and feet washing) with disciples, Judas Iscariot leaves to betray Jesus, warns Peter that he will deny him [John 13]; Jesus comforts disciples and promises to send them the Holy Spirit [John 14]; Jesus teaches his disciples [John 15, 16]; Jesus prays with disciples [John 17]; Jesus with disciples cross over Kidron Valley to garden that Jesus frequented, detachment of soldiers with officials come with Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus, Peter cuts off the ear of a high priest's servant, Jesus is bounded and taken to high priests Annas and Caiaphas who interrogated Jesus, Peter denies Jesus 3 times, Jesus taken before Pilate (about noon-verse 19:14) who did not find any charge for which he should be killed [John 18]; Pilate with great reluctance gave the order to crucify Jesus, Jesus crucified between 2 criminals, near the cross were Jesus's mother, mother's sister, Mary wife of Clopas, Mary Magdalene, and apostle John-Jesus told his mother that [apostle] John was her son and told John that His mother Mary was John's mother, Jesus says he is thristy, takes a sip of vinegar held up to him, says "It is finished." and dies. Joseph of Arimathea requests from Pilate Jesus's body, after verification of death Pilate releases body to Joseph, Joseph along with Nicodemus take Jesus off cross, carry to tomb, performed body preparation, laid Jesus in tomb [John 19].
It should be noted that Jesus was entombed just before sunset. At sunset was the end of the preparation day and the start of Passover.
It should also be noted that John's chapters 13 through 19 all occurred on the same day (per Jewish way of reckoning days), the Preparation day for Passover. This day started with the evening meal in chapter 13 and ended with the burial of Jesus in chapter 19.

*Below are the Most Important lines from the Gospel of John which confirm that Jesus survived death on the Cross.*
11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb
12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

Jesus was showing his wounds to disciples and he ate broiled fish with them to assure them that they were facing neither any spirit nor any new body nor any VISION (Which Dr. Tabor usually talks about), but same human body which was nailed on the Cross. *NO VISIONS. NOT AT ALL. Even Paul met Jesus in Person on Road to Damascus* >> *NO VISION, NOT AT ALL.*
*_This is the whole truth and 100% truth, but If you are fond of fictions; no one can stop you dear. Keep enjoying your fictions!_*
Acts of Thomas show that several years after the incidence of Cross; Jesus along with Thomas was seen attending marriage party of daughter of King of Taxila (now in Pakistan).
*Your own beloved Saint* Bishop Irenaeus of 2nd Century writes that Jesus was alive even decades after the incident of Cross.
Problem with majority of Bible Scholars is: they chose only those biblical stories which they love to promote *but they deliberately ignore* those parts of Gospels, and non-Canonical Gospels which clearly show that Jesus survived death on the Cross, which means: he was NOT CRUCIFIED 4:157 because *death on Cross is a Binding Condition of the Punishment which is called Crucifixion.*

On this earthy plane, when person is asleep (or during Coma or Anesthesia), his Spirit/Soul/Ruh leaves body and make visits here there. This is why: some times dream are true. During that time, an invisible silver cord remains connected between Body (made of dust) and Spirit.
If you manage to take your Soul/Spirit out of Body (yet connected with silver cord), and then if your soul will see humans and your own body; you will stun that every human is like a Lamp. Body of every human is surrounded by Light which extends away from body about 30 cm. Normal Eye cannot see it.
On the contrary, when God decrees death for any person, he dies and his Spirit (real person) leaves the body but now that Sliver Cord which connects Soul with Body of Dust is permanently cut off, and person cannot return into his body of Dust. NO WAY. Then, there is a barrier between Spirit and body of Dust. *HE CANNOT BE RESURRECTED NOW nor can he be Resuscitated. When a Person is Resuscitated, that means: he was not died*
In order to save Jesus from dying a *CURSED death (Deuteronomy 21:22-23) on the Cross;* through a subtle plan, Essene drugged Jesus on the Cross (several top Bible Scholars has written so). Essene MANAGED to mix that drug in POSCA which was given to Jesus on the Cross.
Due to that Drug, Jesus plunged into so deeeep coma, and apparently he appeared perfectly dead. But that Sliver cord was not cut off yet which I have mentioned above (so he was still alive). Therefore; as per plan, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus approached Pilate and got body of Jesus which was later Resuscitated in empty Tomb of Joseph.

This means the Roman State did not have legal jurisdiction over Jesus , he was not one of their subjects legally in their own laws. The fact is that they executed the Father's will when they nailed him to the cross and it was finished, kinda like in accounting when the bill is canceled and is posted. I am not a Christian but I have always wondered why God would incarnate himself to one tiny spot in Israel/Palestine in fulfillment of Jewish OT writings and let basically half of the world, half of humanity (mainly Asians) live their lives not knowing, not even hearing about the Jesus story? Jimmy, the thing is, the literature of the Gospel of John is so much more interesting that your career as a Marxist tour guide. As near as I can tell is that your academic career as a popular counter-culture lecturer is based on the charisma of that iconic Che Guevara poster Back in the day, say, 1968, the guys getting laid on campus was the long-haired anti-war non-violent campus radicals. The pro-war Young Americans for Freedom corporate careerists with David and Ricky Nelson haircuts still can't get laid if they wrapped their dicks in $100 dollar bills in a Nevada Cat House.
The Gospel of John is a memoir of John Mark's relationship with Jesus from the time he was 12 years old and going through Bar Mitzvah the Passover Jesus took command of John the Baptists Repentance Crusade. John Mark would grow up to be Saint Mark of Alexandria and the founder of the first Christian publishing house in history which produced 90% of the codex we posses produced before the 4th Century. P-52 establishes that copies of the Gospel of John were in circulation as early as 90 CE to 120 CE. Before that, the conventional wisdom was that the Gospel of John wasn't even written much before the 6th Century based on a misapplication of Hegel, which most Western intellectuals misunderstood in the manner of Marx.
Marx assumed that Hegel renewed the Cartesian trajectory from Plato and Hegel's dialectic made possible by Newton, Hume and Kant, was a form of dialectical Idealism.. Marx proposed to "stand Hegel on his head" and posited dialectical materialism as history's original Contrarian.
The thing is, Hegel's paradigm is based on Paradox and employs dialectical synthesis as the dynamical modeling Chaos theory requires. Hegel's epistemology, the Phenomenology of Spirit, is Gestalt Theory and his method of inquiry, Thesis-Antithesis=Synthesis is a format for deconstruction Chaos and devolving it to Paradox. As Napoleon observed in anticipation of Hegel, The Moral is to the Material as 4 is to 1.
And that's what the Overture to the Gospel of John, This is state-of=the=Art mid-Platonic school of Philo of Alexandria. Robyn Walsh has a MythVision disinformation that the Gospel of Mark plagiarized Homer and other nonsense. Jews in Alexandria were absolutely delighted with Greko-Roman culture. In particular, Greek, which had an active vocabulary of between 250 - 350,000 words to 60,000 words in Hebrew. That's why the Septuagint was commissioned: It did for Jewish thought what Handel's Messiah does for Christmas..
John Mark's relationship, as portrayed in his Gospe was like a bat boy to Lou Gehrig, I mean, this is a very erotically charged portrait of hero worship from a very intelligent Jewish mind. The timeline of the Gospel of Mark is absolutely faithful to Roman Standard Time. The Gospel of John is measured by the 4 cardinal points of the Solar year, beginning with the Vernal Equinox that sets the meter running for Passover and Easter. John Mark is a Virgo and his birthday comes just before the Atumnal Equinox and the Fesitval of the Tabernacles. I put his birthday at September 8, which is the day Jerusalem fell in 60 CE, Both the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of John begin after the Vernal Equinox when Jesus pops up above the Roman military horizon. Mark 15 begins after the Vernal Equinox in 33 Ce, according to the astronomy. The narratives of the Gospel of John and the Gospel of Mark converge at chapter 11. John Mark is 15 and was the youth that warped naked in Mark 14,.
You are using a corrupted translation of John 18:3 that reflects the Jesus Seminar Marxist verion of Jesus. The Isiah Scroll of the Dead Sea Scrolls utterly rebuts and refutes Bart Ehrman's thesis that there is any significant uncertainty regarding the King James narrative, which does not include Roman soldiers at the arrest of Jesus, because it didn't happen, Pilate was aware of the politics of Jewish Judea and the Galilee, but he was largely laissez-faire, His primary mission was to secure the trade routes and land bridge into Egypt, Pax Romana was a Freee Enterprise economic ecology in contrast to the Free Market piracy economics prior to and fater Roman control of the Med. Post Modern scholarship tends to prefer to depict Pilate as a brute but it is useful to remember that JFK sent the 82 Airborne to Los Angeles in 1963 to back up the National Guard. Pilate was a very competent manger of the reion in a generation of competence installed by Sejanus, who was something of a personnel management and administration genius.
The thing is, John Mark was like Josephus, the child of upper crust Pharisees who inherited a passion ofr that kind of success early. Jesus wasn't a revolutionary: He agreed with Josephus that Ro Pax Romana was a better idea that a Jewish citadel. John Mark of Alexandria who wrote the Gospel of John was expelled from Judaism by the 19th blessing of the Amidah. He was expelled by the Shammai school of Judaism, which is the rough draft of the theology of Pauline Judaism.
And your Marxist version of the Gospels misses all that shit

"Hegel's paradigm is based on Paradox and employs dialectical synthesis as the dynamical modeling Chaos theory requires. "
      Thx. Really clears things up.

@@smerr5073 Well, if you have a serious interest in the literature of the Bible beyond the material boundaries of Tabor's dialectical Marxism, it will expand the literature of the Bible in your mind enormously,
Otherwise, you are stick with being snarky as a feeble ideological riposte

Mary the wife of Cleopas is sister to Mary the mother of Jesus. Perhaps a cousin? Could this James be her son? And, yes, heaven and earth were created for those who realize the love of God. As a good father, don't you want your children to know that your love is big enough to have forgiven any mistake they might make even before it occurs? These are the sons of God and the council of elohim should be composed of sons of God. For this reason Jesus could say, "Let him without sin cast the first stone." If God is searching for a few good men, Israel has been weighed in the balance and found wanting. I see the possibility that this was the actual dedication of Herod's temple.

The Gospel Of John wasn't written by John, but contains the writings and testimony of John.
    John 21:
20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

the pseudo-wisdom of the non-Christians about Christianity ... they are rather obvious the tricks used... the invariable premise is that Christianity was invented, of course - and surely not coming from Jesus's teaching - of course, if it has doctrinal importance it's late theology... like that of Paul and Mathew, for instance
