The wet market opens around 5am, I usually go around this hour. Yes, price wise it’s considered more expensive than supermarkets. The hawkers don’t in take the stocks in bulk, that explained it. If you prefer fresh ingredients, all the efforts worthwhile.
For morning to noon if you're in Chinatown you should go to Hong Lim Hawker Centre behind Chinatown Point, that's when it's most happening. Many good eats there!

Why does it seemed like you have walked a long way round before reaching the hawker from MRT? LOL! An advantage for being late, you can buy cheaper stuff as the vendors start to do quick sales to close stall :D Chinatown wet market stuff are very fresh no worries. Yong tau fu most wet markets will have them and NTUC too, but the stalls in Chinatown have the most varieties and cheaper. There are lots of good food in the market at level 2! It's the biggest hawker in Singapore.
Why must both of u go all the way to china town wet market where else at least 20 wet markets in singapore. U all should go nearest to where u stay wet market.save more time

其实Wet Market的楼上有很多local 的早餐吃，不需要走到“东亚”那里！出名的有猪肠粉，芋头糕，水粿，广东粥，炒米粉/面，Mee Siam/Mee Rebus, 等等.....咖啡+面包+半熟蛋都有！
街市楼上有檔專賣即做北京水餃的，長期要排隊。我去年排了半小時才輪到。出品不錯。
其实你们住的旁边就有个Wet Market了 (Bendemeer Market & Food Centre) 东西也蛮新鲜的！那里的早餐也不错！不用七早八早跑到Chinatown. Fyi, 另外一个有历史的Wet Market就是Tiong Bahru Market. 新鲜，不过价钱贵一点。

在此我想補充几点：
1。 所謂”wet market”,中文稱之为湿巴刹，因为地板上永远是湿的。
2。牛車水巴刹並不是十二点就全部停止營業。大概到两点，还有很多攤販在卖東西，包括卖魚蝦的。
3。传统上牛車水是多廣東人居住与做生意的地方。不止是巴刹，小販中心和周边的商店，用廣東话是通行無阻的。
你們 可以用白話（廣東話） 和小販交流。Wet Market 樓上就是 很好的小販中心，很多美食！
入牛車水街市唔講广府話，最笨！戲台那邊，係廣府亞伯粗口區！
For morning to noon if you're in Chinatown you should go to Hong Lim Hawker Centre behind Chinatown Point, that's when it's most happening. Many good eats there!

下次有機會可以考慮去Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre逛一下, 主要是賣剛進口的水果,疏菜及乾糧. 還有售賣有机食材的店面及附近的美食中心. 在對面不遠處就是虎豹别墅.

在台灣街市的食材是比較新鮮，這是台灣媽媽會教的事，我小時候會喜歡跟媽媽去可以順便吃早餐還可以買零食。其實台灣下午也有賣但是沒有很多現在普遍24小時在7-11也是可以買到但是新鮮有差但衛生。

仲記得每次去新加坡都有去牛車水大廈，不過係去熟食中心食野同買乾貨（紀念品），無去到街市。
其實下次去牛車水大廈可以同人講廣東話，因為牛車水係廣東人地盤，好多人識講廣東話🤣

其实Chinatown很多都会说广东话可能大多数是广东人吧。但是很多广东人大多数都会说普通话跟福建话。

牛車水大廈地下 有一間馬來西亞 皇室貓屎咖啡粉 好正
牛车水很多地方的店主、摊主都会讲粤语的。
菜市場的工作從凌晨 3 點到 4 點左右開始。他們會去Pasir Panjang Distripark或Jurong Port（海鮮）等批發商購買和收集。然後他們會在早上 5 點到 6 點到他們的濕貨市場攤位出售。
您必須在早上 7 點之前去購買新鮮蔬菜、肉類和海鮮。因為當地的咖啡店、小販中心的大排檔……會很早就購買以滿足他們當天的需求。通常在上午 8 點之後剩下的就是不那麼新鮮或好東西。對我來說，我從 NTUC、Giant 或 Sheng Shiong 購買。懶得這麼早起床和別人一起去買新鮮的東西。這些不是新鮮的（隔夜 1-2 天）或冷凍的東西。

從歷史上看，唐人街是一個粵語地區。 （唐人街的某些街道是海南人。）所以過去你在唐人街說粵語。現在不那麼廣東話了，不過老人家會和你說粵語。
真，不過宜家牛車水都算多人識講廣東話，尤其是上左年紀嘅攤販，真係好有親切感
從來不用麵包點雞蛋，兩樣是分開吃的。至少我家人朋友都不這麼做。不知為何說這是新加坡的食法。😅
