If you love a good story you’re going to LOVE this one. For all the original’s faults (which have apparently been cleaned up in this one), it’s pretty unanimous that the writing is top notch.

I played the main campaign but died after about 20 hours in. Now playing the first campaign from the addon. It is an amazing game. The main campaign of the first one can get a bit grindy though. I once spent 3 hours just to collect enough ressources to get from one corner of the map to the other one. The story is amazing though. Never played Oathsworn but also currently playing Aeon Tresspass. The story of Tainted Grail is just on another level. Its soooo good! But u have to work for it. Most map tiles have options u can only unlock if u accomplished some other things. So u need to take notes. A lot of notes! But its all worth it! The rules seem complicated at first but after a few hours of playing they become very intuative. U just have to get over that first hump to actually learn them. I was lucky to have a friend teach me and he actually played the main campaign the third time with me. And he said it was totally different every time he played it. All the options and all the freedom can seem a bit overwhelming sometimes though. U just dont know what to do first. So u just go for whatever way u feel like and enjoy the ride. Cant wait for my copy of Kings of Ruin to arrive
I'm really hoping to avoid the Grindy part, and I tend to skip those parts. That's why I like games like Oathsworn, they skip the grind. I have high hopes for Kings of Ruin though!
AR has good sculpts, sadly tainted grail like etherfields, you don't really get them out that frequently as you do a dungeoncrawler to make it feel worth it aside from the core box minis
I agree that in some games like Etherfields they don't use the sculpts. I hope they are used more in Kings of Ruin, and I kind of imagine they will be. Hopefully. --- I'll tell you where they will be used: Grimcoven! Their Boss Battler they just announced today. Looks EPIC. I'm already very interested!!!
I have my games that come late too, so it's just random. I do try to be among the absolute FIRST to back when I know I want a game, in case they actually give it to earliest backers first. Which they probably don't. I was like the 26th person backing Dune War for Arrakis, and my friend was like 1000, and he got his in Mapleton yesterday, and mine won't come up here in Heber till Tomorrow or Friday. So it doesn't always work.
I know, isn't this crazy? I just got Imperial Horizons from Gamenerdz, I also got another Gamerati tracking for another Tainted Grail game... so maybe there is more coming, the stretch goals and stuff? I didn't even notice. And more Primal should be here, and Divinus should show up any day as I got the tracking for that. I think that will be it for a while. Which is GOOD! I got some games to play!
Mine is as well. Just recieved iss vanguard 1 wave shipping giant box. Will recieve tainted grail fall of avalon 2.0 and kings of ruin soon. And Primal the awakening is on its way too. Then it's just waiting on Isofarian guard.

So I just got ANOTHER tracking number from Gamerait, and it says for Tainted Grail. So... I think there is ANOTHER box coming. I was wondering if they put it all in one box, and figured they must have. But now I'm thinking there is another box coming! I'll let you know and do an unboxing of it!
I feel that we are very similar in regard to Tainted Grail, slthough I am a little older. I started reading Robert E. Howard in the late 60s and continued with Tolkien and Michael Moorcock in the 70s. 1981s Excalibur is one of my favourite films and Marrion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon, one of my favourite books. Tainted Grail appealed to me so much. I love the aesthetics, the theme, the story. I spent extra on getting the art book, the fancy notebook and a beautiful laser printed organiser for it. I played the game for about 10 hours.....and hated it! I am predominantly a skirmish/wargame player and so the combat in TG made no sense to me?! I just got frustrated with the game and haven't touched it since November 2023. Not sure why I pledged for Kings of Ruin but maybe I will like it? Otherwise it will join Fall of Avalon, Age of Legends, Last Knight and Red Death, when I sell them all off?!

Next, I had a nice cannon camera, which I used for some of my best stuff, but.... it got dropped and now has some settings that won't change, so all pictures are off color. I was looking for a new camera when I started using my phone. Samsung S23. Things has been amazing, and in fact, I have to use LOWER settings than I want, because my computer (we talked about this before) can't handle the 4k high resolution my camera can really handle. So... eventually, new computer and probably new video editing software, and we'll be able to use the best my phone can do. Having said that... I'm happy with the results of using my phone lately. ---- Also, and I should speak here about my philosophy. I'm aware I don't have the computer and camera and lighting and editing I truly want. And I don't care. I'm doing something I love, talking about board games. I have ZERO care for how many subscribers I get right now. This is a hobby, it's fun, and I love doing it. I'm making friends, which is really the best part. And... yes, I get to consider how to ARTISTICALLY express myself via TH-cam, and I will authentically do that more and more. I'm also enjoying the discipline of putting out videos. I recognize that my daily (at least trying daily) discipline is a good thing to develop, but at the cost of quality. Some videos, are just put out and aren't as good as I want them to be. That's okay, because the quality is coming, and I'm exploring all that space. Just play the tutorial scenario (a prologue for Beor) and you've got 80% of the game's rules down.

I've heard Aeon Trespass is great too, which is why I'm really considerin getting Kingsdoms Forlorn as well since they are the same creators

Awakened Realms put the core game and the stretch goals into one box. That's why it's so big.
It definitely feels like stuff is missing from the stretch goals.
