true the helmet could be a little bit better but you need to understand what's its made of. cardboard and foam ain't gonna give a sculpted, mold, casted looking helmet

I'm the other way around. I think the helmet looks better than the rest of the armor. I think he should have used white foam over the cardboard so you couldn't see the folds and to add some extra depth to it.

Just a fun fact on that back piece for the storm trooper you mentioned at 4:51, it's used to hold thermal detonators. That's why you just see them pull a grenade out behind their back like magic.

Ben is one of those guys who just seemed a little bit cooler than the rest of us. Ben and Dustin have inspired me to might want to work making props for movies because they are just too of the most laid back dudes who I can see just having fun no matter what. you have to realize that this is for kids and people without access to top-notch materials and with a smaller budget.
***** As a cosplayer I do love using recycled materials, what bugs me here is that he makes things overly complicated. There are several parts of the costume that could have been done easier with less effort.

4:48 in the original concept art for storm troopers, they all had those cylinder shapes on their belts because originally, all storm troopers carried light sabers. Those are light saber holsters, but they looked so cool, they left them on, even after they decided they wouldnt carry lightsabers.
The main reason they didnt follow through on that idea was the sfx for lightsabers was so time consuming in post production, they decided it would just be easier to just have Vader and Obi wan to have them instead. Lightsabers would have been like pocket knives in star wars, if the technology to make them in post had been as cheap in the 70s as it is now.
4:47 That is a canister to hold thermal detonators. The 'box' is holding it on the armor. Thermal detonators are used to open locked doors or blow things up. Basically a deadly grenade.

the back tube piece is a thermal detonator its on troopers from the clone wars to first order though its not really been seen used by first order
