    China recently took over from South Africa as the world's leading gold producer.
    With demand strong from both Chinese jewellery buyers and gold investors, production is increasing.
    STORYLINE :
    These gold bars each weigh 14 kilograms (30 pounds) and cost a small fortune.
    This mine worker is handling some 800,000 US dollars a piece.

    The mine looks good. Is it close enough to a city or town where you can sell the crushed rocks as aggregate too? I bet you could make more money on gravel than you could on the gold if you have the right location

      Because it's in high demand. In jewelry, electronics etc.

      Almost nothing on earth is valuable because of it’s rarity. It’s all about demand.

      Demand and country reservation. Not all gold were sold to people only 10%. 90% of gold are keep by every country government.
