Had extremely specific memories of this show... it's nice to hear someone talk about it! I had it on as background noise at first but then it actually grew on me. My favourite thing I remember was when Robot's grandma (?) came over and she spoke in binary, so she would just yell ONE! ONE! ZERO! ONE! or something to that effect - I saw it in my native Dutch, hence I might not remember correctly. Thought that was the funniest thing. Fun little show, definitely deserved better.
This show had some indescribable charm to it. I cannot describe for the life of me what it was. Maybe Robot and Monster's dynamic? Maybe just the writing style? I dunno, but I wish it got at least one more season; the first season wasn't the greatest show ever, some episodes kinda sucked, but it could have become a great show if the writers had more time to practice and adjust to the characters.
I'm forever grateful to Robot and Monster! After my Cat of 16 years died in June of 2012 I had a hard time sleeping so I watched TV instead, Robot and Monster typically came on really late so I watched it and fell in love with its charm. It gave me something to focus on other than the agony of losing my best friend, so thank you Robot and Monster for being there when I needed you the most!

aaw ^u^ That's so sweet, actually. I never heard of any kind of story like that for Robot and Monster. Most people just remember the big fish lady or have vague memories of it, but you actually LOVED it and it helped you feel better ^u^ I'm glad.
I remember the main characters were often grating to me, and I never found the omnipresent bacon motif to be as inherently comedic as perhaps intended. But the visuals were super original! And even though it didn't connect with me, I love that the creator was passionate about the show, and I'm so glad so many got to enjoy it!
I remember Robot and Monster specifically because it was a show I could tell wasn't getting a fair shake, since I had never seen any advertising for the series prior to release, so it basically just came it of nowhere with no warning, and reruns weren't all that frequent until the move to Nicktoons. I think this show coupled along with other series like Beware The Batman, and Young Justice that seemed to be given a rough deal by the network are what clued me in to how there's more going on behind the scenes when a series gets canceled beyond just if the show is good or not or gets good ratings or not, since sometimes they won't even get a chance to prove either of these things.

I loved the idea of the show and my favorite character was honestly Perry. Not just because he's voice by Maurice LeMarche who I can never unhear as Father from KND but also premise wise it's sadistically comedic for someone to be stuck smiling even though they are subjected to so much bullshit.
I fucking LOVED Robot & Monster! I really enjoyed how much heart the show was able to have when it tried. Robot dealing with his family reminded me of some of the struggles I had when dealing with my own family. This show really deserved better, alas.
All I remember from this show was one episode when Robot asked that stalker/friendship-starved guy how he knew Robot would be where he was and the guy just yelled out "you're focusing on the wrong details!!". It was much funnier without my context butchering lol
This show is the best, too me, it had an amazing cast! It's a shame that it didn't take off, even Maurice Lamarche (he voiced some of the characters in the show) , himself, said that the show was brilliant, and wished it was more popular. This show is my comfort show and I love it to pieces. I'm quite happy a lot of people are starting to remember it and there's new and old fans, out there. I really wish there was a season 2, I really wanted to see more of these bundles of joy.
I remember watching this show and thinking that it was boring. Marf was the best character because he didn’t have tedious dialogue like the rest of them.

And it just pisses me off that this show almost got a second season but was instead cancelled after only one season because the new Nickelodeon executives only care about awful live action sitcoms and filling the cartoons with toilet jokes and mistreating the good shows.
6:00 Studio regime changes seem to spell bad news for many shows that are just getting started. More recently three different shows from each of the big three networks suffered from this. Glitch Techs on Nickelodeon, OK K.O. on Cartoon Network and The Owl House on Disney. There are probably even more than that. The most we can do as consumers is keep the memories of them alive and show there is interest in more of them.
I enjoyed Robot and Monster when I was a kid. I recently just finished rewatching the series on Paramount+. I would love to see the second season. As, I really want to know what happened to Robot's dad and Monster's mother. But oh well, at least I have fond memories of the short-lived series. Also, I recently watch the Instagram live stream about the series, and saw the un-seen theme song and a test for the pitch to the network, it was nice.

Wonder whatever happened to that one...?" only for my train of thought to be interrupted by the revelation that both voice actors were in Dan Vs. Weird how that kind of thing happens lol

I always loved the bizarre design of the world the show is set in. Kinda like 60's sci fi but with an earthier colour palette and a really flexible bouncy movement style.
I think this might be the first show you've covered that I didn't remember. This seems like a show I would've really enjoyed, bummer I missed out on it. This show had a REALLY CUTE CONCEPT! I mean, the designs look amazing and it kind of has Rolie Polie Olie robot vibes, but not as colorful and simple. More detailed and dulled down, for a different audience (I heard some people who worked on Rolie Polie Olie worked on Robot and Monster but I'm not sure if it's true). I also love the characters in Robot and Monster, there's at least one character for everyone can relate to. Like, you could be more like Monster and the happy, optimistic one who's always doing everything for Robot but gets very little love back, or you could be relate more to Robot, who's probably got a lot of anxiety. There's the other characters too, like Ogo and them other guys, and that fish lady (DJ or JD or something?). It wasn't my favorite thing on Nickelodeon, and I know some episodes did go a bit too far, maybe sometimes the jokes were a little cringey, but it was still a good show. Maybe I should start watching it more often!
Anyone notice how its kind of a counterpart of Fanboy and Chum Chum? They're both squash-and-stretch CG animated shows featuring purple and orange protagonists, one tall and one short. The big difference though being one revolved around characters that caused chaos to the world around them, while another revolves around characters fighting a chaotic world that's against them.

I remember finding this show on NickToons when I was around 9 and I would watch it with my siblings everyday after school. It’s still one of my favorites and I miss it tbh.
I loved watching Robot and Monster when it was on TV. It was hilarious, the characters were charming, the slapstick comedy is super funny, and it had lots of good jokes. I used to watch it a lot, and I laugh so hard at it. I never missed an episode except for the one that was never shown on TV. But it is a shame to see that there are no more episodes. And it wasn't a highly rated Nicktoon like some of the other good shows. Well at least I can still watch some of them on my Dad's Paramount Plus. And it was just like old times when I laughed hard at it. Thank you for reminding everyone what this show used to be like.

there are cool concepts in the show like how they would bring home the "bacon" aka the money robot's need to acknowledged and monster being a friend this show just needed more to push it over the edge for a show to have moster and robots seems to be normal like you could replace them with humans
This was the show where on a school night, I’d wake up in he middle of the night, and this show was on. So I just ended up watching it at 3am all the time. Same with Fanboy and Chum Chum
I remember Robot and Monster. I loved that show, and it's a shame it only got one season. It was one of the few new (at the time back in the early 2010s) shows on Nick I liked since Nick kept coming out with a bunch of terrible awful (IMO) shows such as Fanboy and Chum Chum, Sanjay and Craig and Bread Winners.

Where did the years go. This was my childhood before middle school 😢. I miss those days, life was simple and wasn't as difficult amd stressful as it is now. These days I'm a senior in high-school and in 2023 I'm going to graduate. Where did it all go.

I slept on this show for a little thinking it was for little kids, only to catch the tail end of some episode where there was some Tom and Jerry level slapstick going on. I then preceded to watch the show every single time it aired from then on.

If u don’t know young justice was rebooted in the pandemic, it currently is on season 4 and the new stuff has been amazing, it’s all on hbo max now!

I actually love the show when it first came out, I missed watching it so much that I thought the whole series on DVD back in 2018, I really related to Robot

I remember finding this show on NickToons when I was around 9 and I would watch it with my siblings everyday after school. It’s still one of my favorites and I miss it tbh.
I loved watching Robot and Monster when it was on TV. It was hilarious, the characters were charming, the slapstick comedy is super funny, and it had lots of good jokes. I used to watch it a lot, and I laugh so hard at it. I never missed an episode except for the one that was never shown on TV. But it is a shame to see that there are no more episodes. And it wasn't a highly rated Nicktoon like some of the other good shows. Well at least I can still watch some of them on my Dad's Paramount Plus. And it was just like old times when I laughed hard at it. Thank you for reminding everyone what this show used to be like.

I remember coming back from my grandma's during summer break and I saw this, I thought the animation was so futuristic for tv, and tbh it still holds up

I remember this show! I watched it a bit as a kid, and i have vague memories of it. Although i always thought that Monster had a bit more fur and looked different than how he did in the show because i vaguely remember this show lol
I loved this show when it came out. I had the same feelings you did and this could’ve had potential if it was allowed to keep prospering. Who knows? Maybe even a story arc.

there are cool concepts in the show like how they would bring home the "bacon" aka the money robot's need to acknowledged and monster being a friend this show just needed more to push it over the edge for a show to have moster and robots seems to be normal like you could replace them with humans
This was the show where on a school night, I’d wake up in he middle of the night, and this show was on. So I just ended up watching it at 3am all the time. Same with Fanboy and Chum Chum
I remember Robot and Monster. I loved that show, and it's a shame it only got one season. It was one of the few new (at the time back in the early 2010s) shows on Nick I liked since Nick kept coming out with a bunch of terrible awful (IMO) shows such as Fanboy and Chum Chum, Sanjay and Craig and Bread Winners.
I like breadwinners but fanboy and chum chum is gosh awful
Sanjay and Craig sucks too but let’s cut breadwinners some slack
Breadwinners wasn’t remotely as gross as Sanjay and Craig and fanboy and chum chum but I loved all three of them equally
I didn't think Breadwinners was that bad, but Sanjay and Crag should have been BANNED!

God this show was peak, me and my sister adore this show alot and we were sad that it didnt get more episodes and only had one season, this show deserved better.

Where did the years go. This was my childhood before middle school 😢. I miss those days, life was simple and wasn't as difficult amd stressful as it is now. These days I'm a senior in high-school and in 2023 I'm going to graduate. Where did it all go.

I slept on this show for a little thinking it was for little kids, only to catch the tail end of some episode where there was some Tom and Jerry level slapstick going on. I then preceded to watch the show every single time it aired from then on.

It was a good show. You could tell it was a Nick/NickToons type show from the art style. Kind of an underrated cartoon if you ask me. I remember watching it when I was younger

I just realized that this show suffered the same fate Glitch Techs had, screwed over due to shift in management, originally had a second season in production but then got scrapped, to top that, both are obscure shows that don’t get much traction as other mainstream Nick shows.
