I trained as an auxiliary security police officer in the Navy, meaning we could be called out in an emergency, or in circumstances where certain skillsets were required (such as needing someone with a higher security clearance than the "standard" police had). Getting tased is no fun at all; neither is getting hit in the face with pepper spray or bear spray, but it's all part of the training. They do it so you know what it feels like to the person you might be called upon to deploy it against; it's MUCH letter if a suspect can be arrested without resorting to these, or other more deadly, tactics. It’s even better if the situation can be de-escalated without ANYONE going to jail.

that first underwater "training" was NOT Navy SEALS. Some sort of civilian competition or professional team. I am saying this because one of them is a woman and there are no women SEALS or even allowed to try out for BUDs/SEAL. Also, the second water training video wasn't SEAL training, I THINK. Fatigues are the wrong pattern and some of the firearms are not what SEALS would train with. That looked more Easter European. The last one is the only one that was actual SEAL training. Not bitching, just letting you guys know.
@@iHasCaek Nothing against the troops who bulked up, but realistically you'd be better off with a more wiry muscled physique if your genetics permits. Not only do you have to carry the weight of the extra muscle, you need to eat more to maintain it. Easy enough in garrison, or when you can hit the FOB DEFAC every day, but if you were going to be out in the field for a long time with limited resupply not so great. That said, it's nice to have a couple of guys like that in the unit.
