I love this!! I made a video about shooting in small spaces, and it is literally so different from your ideas and tips! It's fascinating to see how two creative people solve the same problems differently. I talked about using a mirror to add depth to images, shooting with a wide lens and other things that you didn't go over. Your tip about shooting from a low angle I was like "whoa, yes of course vertical space!" I hadn't even thought of that 😅
Haha it's so funny you mention the mirror thing and wide angle, because as i had was editing this video I literally slapped my head in my hand as I realised I wanted to add in the tip of making your own DIY reflector haha :DD Oh well, another video then! Yes they definitely take some patinece and practice to get right, another maybe a bit easier way to take overhead shots is to just tape your phone to the ceiling, or if you have a camera make a box with a hole in it and tape that to the ceiling and put the camera in it. I've never dared to try it with my camera because it's so heavy i'm afraid it would fall down but I know lots of people do that 😅
Hi! I shoot in RAW format on my camera so when I imported the image files to my computer I was able to increase the exposure quite a bit and raise the curve of the shadows quite a bit to get a more of that "vintage" feeling. Haha yup Bella was napping the whole time I was filiming the video :D One thing to try is to make a DIY reflector by for example using a large white sheet or paper or mirror that you place close to where you will take the photo, The light surface will reflect the natural light that already exists and will hopefully help with the shadows :)
Ah are you shooting in RAW format or JPEG? If you have a camera I really recommend shooting in RAW format because then you can increase the exposure a lot when you edit the photos for a more airy and light aesthetic :))

Hi! I use Adobe Phtooshop on my laptop, but you can try out the photoshop fix app or photoshop mix, both are really good for editing pics on your phone:) You can use the "clone stamp" tool to make a wall larger for example if the "content aware fill" tool is not available in the apps :)

The challenge I'm facing is that I live in a small space with minimum natural light. It's like I have to switch on my bulbs and tubes in the daytime too. It makes taking photos or practice photography so difficult.
You could try making a DIY reflector by placing things close to your windows that will reflect light to get more of it. For example just using a big white sheet or a mirror or other things that could reflect light, or if you need to use artificial light you could try to make that part of the photo idea? :)
@@Kutovakika thanks for replying Kika. Yes, I do have a speedlight but donot have the triggers. So have to use it on the hotshoe. It is hard to understand how the light from the speedlight changes the photo unlike constant light, but definitely doable. For these type of photos I often shoot on 35mm or even wider, I find that it's tricky to get a photo from really high up so a wider lens is almost the best, but if it becomes too wide it starts to distors so much so I try to keep it at 30-35mm ;) I shoot with a lens that is 24-70mm and I find that works for all the type of pics I do :)
I would like to see tips on taking pet photos. My dog is really cute but she refuses to pose. She is not a camera ham. When I photograph her she is always sleeping or pretending to be. I need ideas.
