I just realized how well they kept to the books in the first few tv series. And you can see the faces in your mind wile listening. And Christopher Timothy’s voice is the only voice that could do it justice. Thanks.
Unlike the most recent one, of which I only managed to suffer a few episodes! Neither the characters nor the storylines bore any resemblance to what Herriot had written!

I have this book on my shelf, I watched the PBS series and this was one of the only forms of entertainment for my elderly father before he died. Geez I just remembered I got the tapes from Blockbuster. wow. Thanks for these hours of enjoyment.
Siegfried can be insufferable at times, but by gaw he is absolutely fearless, he knows his stuff, never doubts himself, and he is ever loyal to his bunch. P.S.: When a girl gives you a friendly, steady-eyed smile, NEVER discount it as merely friendly!
He cleared his throat in a ( couldn’t understand) manner and…. No that is not how it ended. Swell of music makes it hard to hear but no at least a sentence is missing.
Thank you Sweetings, I've been enjoying this hugely after new job of 3 month calf raising ... some things stay the same... and if the last sentence is missing well I've been enjoying all the other sentences loads so, ta very much XXX 😌🌞🐫🍄🤗😁🤩🌈
Last few sentences … Mr. Allen cleared his throat in a marked manner and I turned back to the job at hand. ‘Right,’ I said, placing my calipers against the beast’s neck. ‘Number thirty-eight, seven millimeters and circumcised,’ I called out to Helen. ‘Number thirty-eight, seven, C.’ ‘Number thirty-eight, seven, C’, my wife repeated as she bent over her book and began to write.
well, you’ve cut off the end also. must be a reason. although after posting the whole darn book except the last sentence to escapre it being erased altogether, doesn’t make any sense. it would be nice to know what the last sentence is. we’ve not all read this before. thanks very, very much though. loved the book and the terrific reading :) 🌷🌿🌼🌱🌷 🐶🐈🐄🐷🐴

Brits have many common expressions everyone says all the time. Americans have not one. Except nowadays too many say"like" in EVERY sentence every 3 words as if stupid.

Great storytelling voice. I love to fall asleep to audiobooks and this one has been especially good. I look forward to reading the book.
Did you especially enjoy the loud blaring muic that comes in suddenly and startles you?

The 1970s-80s series is on BritBox.
These are brilliant. I've cancelled my audible subscription. What's the point when I can get such stories so beautifully read on here?!

Very few besides these.
Does the original audiobook end so abruptly? Seems incomplete.🤔
