The narrator has to be the best I have ever heard. Christopher Timothy. Awesome. Love the stories and the author.

Read all the books between 14-16 years old just before the start of my agricultural apprenticeship
Now some 45 odd years later listen to all James books every night going to sleep
Listening to Christopher Reading them excellently

Exactly the same time line as myself, loved these books as a 15 year old, and the original bbc series with Christopher Timothy and the late great Robert Hardy.

    Clear narration is an understatement!

For anyone who watched the Original series on PBS, this is just a joy to listen to. Christopher Timothy’s narration is just perfect - it takes you right into the scene with him. At 2:16 I couldn’t help but think: “Call Graeme Parker - The Hoof GP…he will have that Cow’s foot fixed up in no time”.

One of the best writer's, I am there with him, seeing the places, people, feeling the emotions. Obviously writing about what he experienced and being the man he was, able to relate it to his readers. Also we'll narrated by Christopher Timothy.

You’re looking to take a snarky jab, on a MINUTE mistake? No less on a well intended comment? You take umbrage with well vs we’ll?
You need to perhaps ponder the distinct possibility, that you’re BORED. Good day.

I fell in love reading Herriot's books, before bed, decades ago. This Texas gal was blessed with the opportunity to go visit the Yorkshire dales, Thirsk to be precise, in 2000. It was exactly as I imagined based on his beautiful, descriptive writings. Thank you so much for posting these. God bless you. ❤🙏

Hope you remembered that the period was before, during and after WWII which means the pace of life in the Dales hasn't really changed for hundreds of years!

Disbelieve one can be "too fond", love another too much". I normally have a cat an a dog knowing in time I will lose them both. When mt Australian Shepherd, May got cancer, died, I quit eating for a long time. In a picture of me from then I look like id been in a concentration camp. Love an miss each of them an know
    they will all leave me.

If I had to fill out all of those blasted forms, I'd sit there with pen and pencil, and write down explicitly the steps, the forms to use and who's supposed to get which one, and all the exceptions that Mr. Harcore told him about. There is no way that most of us could remember all those forms in our head. I guess James didn't think about writing it down so he kept getting in trouble. Poor guy! Too bad someone didn't suggest writing all the details down. It could've saved everybody a lot of stress! Good thing he thought about running it thru Kitty the next time.

The Heriot stories are good, very good, but ruined by all the yelling.
