- Penn State vs Illinois Highlights (Illinois vs Penn State Football) | 2024 College Football Highlights. Penn State Football and Illinois Football played in week 5 of the 2024 College Football Season.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
If you’re looking for high quality sports content, then this is the channel for you! I’ve covered Baseball (NCAA, LLWS, Professional), Football (NCAA, NFL), Softball (NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), and much more!
The best part of my work as a TH-camr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other TH-camrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Kicker has one job and. And do that. Get rid of him
PSU kicker needs some bench time.
+1
Should've been permanently benched after last year against West Virginia
@@chuckyjamesamartin1968that was a different kicker wasn’t it?
is it just me, or did the camera make the PSU kicker look kinda... fat?
Penn state left at least 10 points on the board and still won comfortably, which is a good sign for the potential of this team.
You can’t leave points on the board against USC and Ohio state though
😂😂😂 they suck!
@@Chon999 they have one of the best defenses and running back duos in CFB. They beat a very good team by a good margin while having major kicker issues.
@@zacharylieberman6098 Probably won't be improving much in the kicker department though. PSU probably loses two close ones at some point.
winning by 10 is comfortable?
Altmeyer is unathletic af and too small. Illinois lost because he couldn't see past the line or escape the sacks.
When he’s not getting his hands held by the refs he tends to lose games. Nebraska would have wiped the floor with these frauds if the refs weren’t up their asses playing us. Shitter team
No Illinois lost bc their coach decided that he wanted to be like Dan Campbell and go for it on 4th and long rather than punt it when they’re down a touchdown with 6 minutes left in the game
@@Jasmine-jl9kb Ngl, Altmeyer chucked that ball at Harris. A.J. was just standing there and Luke threw it anyway 😂
smooth brain comment
Illinois needs to recruit a dual threat quarterback. If they continue to have whatever Altmeyer is they'll never win big games. You either get a massively buffed up o line or you can go for a more athletic qb
Dumb mistakes from Penn State this shouldve been a 27-7 or 34-7 type score
Illinois played a terrible bit of football at the end of the first half. They have no one to blame.
Sucks having a top ten team and then having a horrible kicker.. both team will suffer in close games because of it…kicking will win you a national championship dumb coaches!! Recruit one..!!
Best comment I’ve seen here. No excuse to not have a better kicker.
At 13:53 in the video, if that is not a block in the back then I don't know what is
Illinois fan here and YES that was 100% BITB
But then Penn got that pass interference that lead to the 2nd TD.
I don't think either team can be happy with the refs.
The better team won and we got a reality check on where we really are.
@@tonywilson4713 7:22 I think this is what you are referring to. It wasn’t pass interference it was “holding”. Yeah total phantom foul there.
Actually, watching the replay, you can see Illinois #34 holding PSU’s tight end right on the line. I think they just got the number wrong.
Watching the game, you'd think Penn State should at least be up by 20, but somehow it was a close game. They got a lot to clean up.
FACTS
Geez the kicker for penn state seems to have the yips.
Fanbase for illinois needed to be humbled
Says the school that always chokes at Ohio State.
Fr they thought they were the shit after beating Nebraska by 1 score in a game they had the refs literally sucking their dicks. Total frauds.
Im not a penn state fan@@thebigreeseproject76
PENN STATE KNOCKS OFF ILLINOIS 💯! PENN STATE IS REALLY TALENTED
Is that a shock? They have 4 and 5 stars across their roster. Illinois has 3 stars
@@chuckyjamesamartin1968 And maybe a 4 star somewhere. the potential in recruiting 3 stars is that they are less likely to just transfer out of the program after a year or two and will continue to grow and get better, and eventually will become 5 stars.
Gotta go and recruit a legit Dual threat QB who can run, pass, and go through his reads and progressions. Also helps to have a good O line.
Cool, the 94 team was in the house, they got robbed that year, they would have beaten any team that season.
That qb sneak on 4th by Illinois altmyer fell short of the line and the officials marked the ball 1 yard past the line to gain. Not sure why it wasnt looked it
Illini fan here - May be the refs were making up for that bullshit pass interference that lead to Penn States 2nd TD. You at least have to make contact.
I don't think either team can be happy with the refs. Someone else pointed out a blatant block in the back they missed - see 13:53.
The better team won and we got a reality check on where we really are.
Why does Penn State always play down to decent teams they should easily beat?
You think that its easy to beat a top 20 undefeated team? Where is your head at?
@@johnjackson8709 Nice try, this isn't a top 20 team. They are right now because they haven't played anyone
Combination of Altmeyer & Illinois coach doomed Orange team. Absolutely nothing done to counter Penn St's aggressive defensive rush. Altmeyer thought that by fumbling or rushing in the wrong direction, he could appease Nittany Lions. Coach suggested throwing interceptions or keepers. Altmeyer's top speed of 5 miles/hr. proved insuficient, as Penn St defenders typically nailed him before he got into 2nd gear. The Illinois coach thought that the referees should have made the Penn St defense tested for traces of aggressivanyl substance abuse in their blood.
What is it with all these college coaches trying to be Dan Campbell as of recent with these dumb decisions to go for it on 4th and long. You’re down a touchdown with 6 minutes to go! Just punt the football Bielema! Even Dan Campbell wouldn’t go for it there! No wonder you couldn’t find a head coaching job in the NFL
That's the thing, as a Lions fan it's hilarious to see everyone trying to copy the same thing. Campbell takes calculated risks, these other coaches are just going for it when they feel like it and think because Campbell sometimes does it they should do it too. Awful, awful decision making.
I thought our kicking problem was over??? I guess not!! WE ARE 🏈

P.i. Should be a spot foul in college otherwise you might as well tackle on every deep pass
Honestly. It’s not worth getting beat and giving up a td. Just take the 15 and be done with it
Congratulations to Penn State.
Of course you are playing Illinois. If Penn State plays like this against any teams in top 5 or 6 they're going to get smoked.
I love they scored on the 1st drive. The the offense turned in to Cant Get Right!
Penn State needs to clean up the mistakes
DAMN the game was close early on. I was asking myself where was the Illini defense stopping Penn State in the 2nd half. Too many penalties this game that cost the Illini the game.
Was that Micah parsons 2.0
978 Kling Crest
990 Bins Valley
Say good night
WE ARE!!!
We saw a lot of people excited about Illinois even picking them to win, but now its time to just sweep that under the rug to maintain the narrative that James Franklin doesn't win big games, as everyone has done for many big games he's won as head coach.
Beating Illinois just doesn't seem to be a big accomplishment. Or is it a big game because the last time the Illini came to town they won in multiple OT's? Strange to think this was a game where one advocates for Franklin as winning "big games".
You think this is a big game??? you want James franklin to get cool point for THIS win!?!?!?! beating... ILLINOIS!? lordy
All of these top 25 matchups at Penn State are huge games that Penn state is picked to be upset in and then teams get blown out and everyone says those teams suck. And the 🤡 in the comment section saying “you think this is a big game?” Like yea man, top 20 matchup in week 5 is a big game. If it isn’t then no game is. Cuck
Beating an No. 19 Illinois team by just two touchdowns and having your FIVE STAR QB throw for a pathetic 135 yards and ZERO scores all game is NOT “winning a big game”. Franklin has done nothing but LOSE big games since 2016. Beat Ohio State or Michigan and then we can talk. The bald clown should’ve been fired YEARS ago. Hell, he should’ve been fired after our 9-OT loss against this very same Illinois team in 2021.
@@jacobsekela8691 this is your “drugs are bad” moment man. Find Jesus please
The Illinois QB is pathetic, did you see the intercept?
He’s always been shit when the refs are not holding his hands
Penn state can’t beat Michigan or Ohio State though 😂 they only beat the other teams
Ohio State maybe. But Michigan doesn't seem that hard to beat this year. Too bad we don't play them.
Penn state doesn’t play Michigan. Ohio state hasn’t really played anyone yet. So we will find out how good they are
@@carlmorningwake1095 penn state hasn’t either, West Virginia and Illinois aren’t that good and they almost lost to bowling green
@@JoshIsFootballCrazy we will see who the best team is on November second
@@JoshIsFootballCrazyA lot of ranked teams have had close games with non ranked teams. Some even lost. But we're still focused on PSU almost losing to Bowling Green? Talk about being singled out.
I love Penn St and I am enjoying the nice win. Soak it in, because when the tough teams show up, we dont.
If Illinois would have adjusted and turned to screen passes, they would have done much better. Penn State's defensive frontline simply ran rough shot on Illinois' Offensive frontline. Just saying...
If Brent Beilema wasn’t dumb enough to try to be Dan Campbell by going for it on a 4th and long rather than punting it with 6 minutes left in the game, Illinois would’ve had a chance
Penn State couldn't tackle and couldn't stop getting penalized.
@@chuckyjamesamartin1968Penn State won. Boob.
Learned something about PSU again, they dont have a prayer against OSU
We had poor first half defense and unusually conservative play calling and still won comfortably. The osu game will be close.
Despite beating Illinois Penn State really struggled offensively
375 yards at 6Y/P and 240 on the ground is struggling? Ok sure 👍🏼
Penn state would have won by a lot more if it weren’t for stupid mistakes and penalties… not to mention multiple missed field goals
You just don’t know CFB Illinois was a heavy betting favorite to cover the 17.5 point spread. Their defense is stout and so is their team… do better
@@BSTVsports I do know college football
@@minaeldiwany3215you do not.
Wheels is gay
Franklin is 3-17 vs top 10 teams. From my fellow Penn State fans, I heard how underrated Bowling Green was (94th in the country) when we barely beat them at home. BG lost at home today, to powerhouse Old Dominion, who is ranked #73. The same old story with Franklin, he doesn't have a clue about offense. Against the elite teams we don't have a chance with this guy.
