    Peter, I tried your simple 3 step process and the results were simply astounding. I am a 71 year old student of golf and have fought a slice my entire golfing life. I have learned to play with it (7 handicap), but the lack of distance has been disheartening. With little practice, and a new (used) driver I took it to the course and was in places I have never been before, including some fairway bunkers I once thought were unreachable. I am at least 20 yards longer, with a couple of “bombs” at 240 yards. You have made me a fan for life!

    Peter, I am four months into your senior swing. I saw immediate results and finally achieved my “Project 72”, shooting my age at my local country club, Kings Creek in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Going to the greens with shorter irons I had 3 birdies (alas, one double) to shoot 1 over on the 5,700 yard, par 71 course, slope: 130. Thank you again.

    30 years ago or more Wally Armstrong talked about creating that tension on the back swing by letting the trail knee resist turning in the back swing. He called it coiling like the rubber band on kids wind up air plane.....by holding the trail knee in the as in the set up position you build a lot of tension the farther your turn without letting that knee come un-locked or straightening.

Having watched this video and applying the techniques I was able to consistently drive the ball 30 plus yards longer and straight. I hope with regular practice that might increase further , great video great technique. Many thanks.

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check how much you are rotating your body (hips and shoulders). The rotation shouldn’t be inhibited too much by your shoulder as you are focussing on spine rotation.

    I like the ideas but I wonder about the idea that you don't need to finish in a good position. Would love to be able to finish like your finish. I feel that I drag or sway my upper body too far forward as the club approaches the ball (in other words, I am not turning around my spine as I swing the club toward and past the ball) and that that causes all kinds of problems. Could you address or suggest some drills on how to achieve your finish, please?

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ben, the intention behind the comment about follow-through is that you shouldn’t force yourself to a complete follow-through. The momentum of the club will take you to where your swing finishes. If you’re not turning around your spine correctly it sounds as though your upper body is probably too dominant in the swing and that’s causing your body to shift around.

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Pressure should begin to move to your front foot just before the backswing ends. This is one part of a swing that most players find tricky to get that first.

    • @sparkdog44
      @sparkdog44 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a baseball image. Imagine throwing a ball. The motion starts with a shift of weight to the left foot (right hand throw). Close your eyes. Address an imaginary ball. Swing the club. Feel the weight shifting as you swing the club. Improper weight shift leads to loss of balance. No balance, no rhythm. No rhythm, no game. An old pro told me that years ago.

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ciao Adriano, it is best to have clubs best suited to you, just in case you need something other than a standard club. Just get a few to begin with and you can add to them as you progress. There is a slight chance that you’ll need different clubs as you improve, however there is only a small chance of that. I’m sure the lessons will help your golf.

Can do 20 nice practiceswings after each other but when the ball is on place: impossible!! Smack in the ground or topping. My goodness this is disgraceful advice for senior players. For someone with any kind of back issue or indeed a senior wanting to avoid a back injury, do not try to generate torque by twisting your upper back against your lower back 🙄 Instead, concentrate your efforts on building a swing without reverse spine angle and rotating your hips and back together and you'll play more golf by getting injured less.
