- With Ultimate coming out very soon, I figured I should make one last Bayonetta Causing Smash 4 Players to Suffer video. It's been 7 months since the last one of these videos I made, and there's been a lot more Bayonetta controversy since then. Hope you enjoy the final one and pay respects to all who suffered in this video.

The main problem with bayonetta is that so many of her moves are mixups just from imputting them. Heel slide is a mixup, wether she'll do another witch twist or a afterburner kick is a mixup, wether she'll toss out another arieal or kill you for fighting back from witchtime is a mixup, just so much. Not to mention her counter is about as good as a free combo with twice the range.
Glad that they nerfed it.

Similar to how any other good player who is good at reading di or any other character that can kill at high percents? If you got hit at high percent, dying shouldn't be surprising.
Looking at it another way, I honestly think that playing Bayonetta makes you worse at sm4sh and here’s why.
Most of her moves have insane priority so you don’t really have to worry about trades; her recovery is ridiculous so you don’t have to worry too much about falling far away from stage, not to mention that it is close to impossible to gimp unless you make some insane callouts. To continue, in a game where the fun factor is primarily based on fast-paced combat where you have little time to think and make decisions allowing for entertaining gameplay, her counter allows for brain-dead follow-up options; free damage and 0-deaths, sometimes from extremely low percentages and to top it all off, witch twist combos (although now much more easily SDI-able) are difficult to get out of because a decent enough player will be able to read your SDI more often than not ANYWAY and still carry you off top, so you don’t have to worry about people falling out of combos either.
Because there are so many things that you no longer need to worry about in regards to actual gameplay, I think it’d be difficult to go back to playing characters where you actually have to think a lot more about your options.
I believe sm4sh is still a great game and I still have fun with it as much as I dislike Bayo, but you can’t say you don’t understand why people think she is broken and easy and then go on to reply with ‘just SDI’ because it’s so much more than that.

@@shuny3914 False, because it is possible to out-neutral bayo as it's probably the only thing that holders her back, so in a 4 stock format even if she gets a crazy combo because you missed your di/sdi you'll have the chance to make up for it with the next few stocks. If you get bayo combo'd all 4 stocks you honestly deserve it and can't SDI or play neutral for shit.

@@CarbonMalite Within 1 bayo combo you have multiple chances to mix up your DI and SDI so they can't read/react to it for free, my point stands. Outside of low level play when do you ever see people die off of 1 mistake consistently? This compilation is like 20 out of hundreds of matches where bayo doesn't kill anyone that fast because the bayo player doesn't react to the DI in a way that will kill. If bayo really did kill you off 1 mistake that consistently, why isn't she banned? It's because actually decent players know how to relatively consistently avoid her death strings.

If you removed Bayo's combos, she wouldn't be S tier. You're saying her combos can be avoided consistently? Is that why every top Bayo main mashes B in advantage state/neutral, because her combos are so escapable? That's quite an opinion there.
I personally trust the opinions of "decent players" like Esam, ZeRo and Tweek who describe the MU as "play perfectly because one mistake means big damage or a stock" more.

I don't have any problem with the Bayonetta combos, it even looks beautiful to me, but I hate the attitude of top players like Captain Zack or Lima, without Bayo they would not be anyone and they know it.

@@kendukin9725 afaik that was a glitch that gave her back her double jumps after witch twisting. If you look at the clip, there are too many double jump circles (the small visual effect that indicated when a double jump is used) appearing since she left the ground to the end of the ladder combo. Sakurai was seen groaning; he recognized what went wrong instantly.

@@hunted_man4035 I guess when you are in one of her combo's, just sdi (which you do by rapidly moving the stick back and forth). Also, look for any an opening in one of her moves, I say try to bait out witch time. Furthermore, try to take advantage of her average neutral, chances are your character has a better neutral.
@@mcprol2467 Trying to mash out of her combos isn't counter play. Witch time is extremely safe and immune to grabs. She ignores neutral, any stray hit from her can lead into a combo.

I can see both sides of the argument on Bayonetta, but you guys gotta listen, when a beginner can pick Bayonetta up and make an inescapable ladder combo to the blast zone by simply spamming the b and a buttons, I simply side with the people that dislike her. Yes, you can tell people to "Learn The Matchup". But when you get killed by a person who can carry you to the blast zone at basically 0% and proceeds to taunt after, you would get pretty mad aswell.
Well see heres the thing. Not anyone can do these strings 100% of the time.
And for those complaining about not being able to get out of her strings, it is entirely possible to do.
