Here's a a few ways to remedy the double feeding: 1. Change the spring in the mag motor to be a little tougher. This just stops it from accidentally double pressing the button which happens if you pull the bolt back slowly. 2. Cock your shot pointing the blaster at least horizontally or up in the air. This might seem a bit silly but it does help as gravity makes it a little tougher for the gels to get pushed into the barrel. This is the most effective way of stopping it from double feeding. 3. Grow your gels as close to 7.2+mm as possible. I found that when I tried undergrown gels compared to full size ones it makes a big difference in how it feeds. Not that you want gels way undersized compared to the I.D of the barrel, but if there's a couple of small ones in the feeding tube they will get pushed in. 4. Tighten the feeding tube screw on the end closest to the barrel (the screw that holds the halves together). It seems to be a bit loose by default, and making it that bit more snug helps stop smaller gels sneaking in as much. The main issue though is the motor in the mag turns on for too long which is annoying because they programmed it that way. If it powered the mag for less time or even a little bit later, it wouldn't have any issues with it. Either way hope these few things at least help reduce the double feeding.
Bradley Phillips that’s why i hate electric mag... happen with airsoft also but because the mag design for full aeg so it hard to counter once for awhile. This time they use bolt + electric mag and the electric mag is sensitive
Hell yeah you're exactly the person I want to see a gel blaster sniper review from. It's really great to see how well these things can shoot from someone experienced in that kind of play style. Also for the double feeding, it might be compatible with the JY AWM mag. It's also an electric mag but instead of having a timer on the button, it just runs as long as you hold the button down so you could fairly reliably single feed by priming it faster.
That fires pretty well for a gel blaster. I guess one of the other advantages of single shot is the ability to be very quiet in doing so. You wouldn’t easily give up your position like full auto will. It would be interesting to see if you could legally own one of these as a replica firearm in nsw as they’re a copy of a bolt action centerfire rifle (category b).
bolt system tends to wear down causing the blaster to not load at all, the metal sear latching onto the nylon piston in the bolt shaves down the nylon making it impossible to pull back without it slipping resulting in no fires. Its a great blaster but i would personally order in a metal bolt assembely aswell, the AWM bolt seems to fit exactly the same btw
Interesting to see from my persepctive as an airsoft player in the UK. Given the overall realistic appearance of these gel guns I really can't for the life of me understand why airsoft is still banned in Australia. The general build quality appears to be on a par with where at least basic airsoft guns are at although issues like range, accuracy and that double feeding are problems rarely found in any half decent airsoft replica these days. Overall I have to admit that much to my surprise I'm quite impressed by what I saw.
Because an Australian politician was scared of them and decreed they be banned and Aussie politicians are never wrong, so they refuse to revisit the issue on it's actual merits. We have a few pollies in favour, but they are rare at best.
Gel blasters quality actually don’t hold a candle to a reputable airsoft replica. Since most of the gel ball companies have to tone down the build quality of the blaster by swapping metal parts with nylon to meet customs since u know their directly targeting communist I mean strict countries which don’t allow for more realistic looking gun

Ive just got mine, and i think ive found something no one else has seen. Under the cheek rest, there is an allen key that has a 4mm end and a 5mm end so that you can change the barrel without needing other tools.
Shit, the BBs flies strangely around in the air. I'm curious but the about 300 fps does not say much for someone coming from airsoft when I have no idea what the BB weight is, what does it shoot in joules?
I never owned an msr but I’m just trying to help. If itdouble feeds, try to replace the barrel with an aluminium tightbore or replace it with hard gels like the alpha king. And try not to pull the pull for too long because it may pull more gel balls
Double feed fixing wouldn't be easy for any type of magazine, the problem mostly caused by the gel balls when they stucks in the magazine's tube. You can apply a little bit water in the tube, that will reduce chance of double feed but also reduce the mag and the gun durability. Double feed yes can increase your chance of hitting target but it does reduce gelbal FPS so we have the shorter range
They have.. Senyu M24 gel blaster. I have one, full metal bolt, barrel, only plastic on it is the faux wood stock. No double feeding issues with the spring loaded mag, just lower capacity.. about 12-13 gels. 300FPS all day long.
Hey man I followed these steps no problem but found two square nuts loose that dropped out that fit in the stock so make sure people are aware that they slot in for front cap screws.
I tried removing the rubber on the mag..somehow it works better, also the gell ball gets loaded better without the mag rubber on.. Hope it works on yours..
i believe the cause of the double gel firing is maybe the gell isnt soaked fully and sometimes if the chamer of the gells go in if one goes in then gets pushed bit forward then another gell could go in and thats ehy but it happens to me also
Great video thx man. To fix the double feeding, you should try using different gel balls. Some gel ball types work much better than others, and they can also change the fps of the blaster. Also at what range have you found that can you shoot this blaster the most accurately?

The only time I get a double feed is when I hold the bolt back to long and or I don’t slide it all the way back to its seat and pull down, if I pull and push back and it sits just before the safety on the right and I then lift up on the bolt and push I hear the mag cycle, if I avoid all of that I never, NEVER get that
Maybe you should ask the company to try and install a ball detent like the one's used in paintball marker to stop double feeds. Just a suggestion. But the rifle looks awesome

hmm, this is kinda cool, now its starting to make me wonder if you could convert the T piece into an airsoft style hop up unit instead of a hop up at the end of the barrel. i never worked on/ used a gel blaster so yeah.

So, when your sniper double feeds, its probably because either, the gel balls are small, either from de hydration or the ball just being small when it got manufactured, I don’t know if there is a fix but I doubt it. Just try to hydrate your gel balls if you don’t already know that, hope this helped

Well what we have here...a nice master piece Bolt Action Rifle...maybe soon i want to have one of this and convert it to AIRSOFT...hmhmhm...i got a AWM JieYeng Gel Blaster and made it out successfully also i made the FPS much higher at 400 loaded of 0.30g BB's...i just add some thick rubber from a ballpen grip to the Piston Spring and change the O Ring fitting on the Piston Head from a O Ring motor engine oil gasket coz the stock of the piston O ring is White so i replace that with this black O ring and that's why i get a much better compression.

( like how high you have to aim above their head if they are a good distance away from you). Edit: btw great video, unfortunately i live in Victoria, australia so I cannot purchase a gel blaster.
My scope doesn't have a built in rangefinder so mostly I just guess and watch where the shot went and then adjust for my next shot if it's too high or low.

@Bradley Phillips in this video before the spring replacement, did you change the barrel as well to fit the hop up or did you keep the one it came with and added the hop up on that?
Using AKA: Mine would misfire randomly and after a misfire it would double fire. Found it to be the barrel being to close to the cylinder ratio and that I had the misfire gel stuck near the end of the barrel. The next shot would then throw it out. Sometimes if have a triple fire haha. ShotGun Snipe 😛 I’ve cut my barrel to 400mm and haven’t had a misfire yet, accuracy and FPS went up too. I am how ever still getting a random double shot though, think the area in the T piece is big so the electric mag fills the area while the nozzle is all the way back. Might see if I can drop some hot glue in the top of T piece to lower the volume

TacToys are sending all the TH-camrs things to review. I don't think it really matters who it comes from. I'm reviewing the JY MSR which is sold by multiple retailers. It's not the Tactoys MSR.
As for retailers shady practices there's heaps who are sub-par on that. I'll leave reviewing retailers up to people like Gelsoft Warrior and stick to reviewing the toys themselves.
It doesn't really bother me which retailer sends the products. No others have offered at this time, so for now it is Tactoys supplying them. But people want to know how these blasters perform so even if they don't like Tactoys they will watch the video to learn how it performs and then they can buy from somewhere else, that's up to them.

As far as the piston. from what i have seen from disassembly vids about gel baster. Alot of time their 1 on 1 direct same in some areas as airsoft guns. Maybe a airsoft piston will work if allowed? I know AS gun are banned but what about parts?

Hi Brad - Upgraded the spring as per your video and initially no issues - 20 or so shots worked well. Now when loading, the bolt is not required to be pushed back to the load position once pulled back as it just shoots back on its own. Any idea what has gone wrong?
I recieved my remington today. I followed your video instructions, but could not get the metal spring rest out. So after a while I gave up on getting the metal spring rest out and put the blaster back together. But after putting everything back together, it doesn't fire anything anymore. I didn't even touch the spring or any mechanical parts. Also I broke the back of the bolt, and now that is missing it's nub. Any ideas of what might be wrong?
The MSR mags feed for 1 second regardless of how fast you rack the bolt, it's a timer in the mag. Trust me we tried cycling it faster and slower and both gave double feeding.

Good review. JY definitely improved this blaster over the AWM. Not sure why you're getting double feet issues. Other reviews I've seen they dont have that. Again, I'll be heading to other retailers because I dont trust tac toys. I've been burnt by their nonsense and I wont be taking my business to them ever again and I suggest you do the same when there are many other retailers that treats customers right. Just not tac toys
The pinned comment shows you that other people are having the double feed issues, and almost every person I've spoken to who owns one of these blasters has the same double feed problem. Possibly the other reviewers omitted the issue.

What is the point of a sniper rifle if its doing 2 meter groups at 20-30 meters? Is there anyway to make the gel balls more stable in flight?
There's some small improvements you can do but even with those changes you could just do the same to an AEG.

You doesn't need to glue every barrel you got to the T-Piece. Electrical Tape good enough to make it stop rotating when you pull the hop up.

Apparently the metal upgrade kit helps prevent double feeds by having a longer nozzle. Will try that next.

Because the feeding is electric, for the full duration of the bolt pulled back, it will be feeding. try priming faster

Yeah the water was drained prior to use. These days I would use Ultra Elites.

The hopup you can search for Rizer V2, multiple retailers sell them. As for the mock suppressor I searched for them on eBay and chose one, but there's a wide variety you can pick from. Hope this helps!
Pretty awesome but I don't understand why people use gel blasters when airsoft exists. I think it's cool that there are other options out there but for the loss of accuracy, range, and general performance can someone explain to me why you choose to use these? Not hating on anyone, just genuinely curious. 🙏
People choose to use these because Airsoft is illegal in various parts of the world. Basically these were created as a legal alternative.

Which suppressor and adaptor can be used? Mine has no screw on thread just a removable cover that the muzzle break goes on.

To solve the double feeding issue I found just using it seems to run it in and it sorto of stops double feeding after a while

Mine would misfire randomly and after a misfire it would double fire.
Found it to be the barrel being to close to the cylinder ratio and that I had the misfire gel stuck near the end of the barrel. The next shot would then throw it out.

I’ve cut my barrel to 400mm and haven’t had a misfire yet, accuracy and FPS went up too.
I am how ever still getting a random double shot though, think the area in the T piece is big so the electric mag fills the area while the nozzle is all the way back.
Might see if I can drop some hot glue in the top of T piece to lower the volume
I did some math on the ideal barrel length and it's ridiculously short at like 350mm from memory which would have it end in the handguard

Most people aim for a 1.7:1 ratio, the dimensions of this cylinder's usable volume is 90.7mm x 18.1mm
Personally I've ordered a bruisemaster the same length as the provided barrel (483mm) so I don't have to cut anything and can still fit a hopup

I just find it odd that on youtube you have no problems supporting tactoys by giving out discount codes, but on the forums you are so adamant against tactoy's shady business practices, garbage refund policies and faulty "premium" products.
I'm just concerned you're playing both sides but more towards the retailer than the players... and I do hope you don't pull a tactoys and hide criticisms :/
TacToys are sending all the TH-camrs things to review. I don't think it really matters who it comes from. I'm reviewing the JY MSR which is sold by multiple retailers. It's not the Tactoys MSR.
As for retailers shady practices there's heaps who are sub-par on that. I'll leave reviewing retailers up to people like Gelsoft Warrior and stick to reviewing the toys themselves.
It doesn't really bother me which retailer sends the products. No others have offered at this time, so for now it is Tactoys supplying them. But people want to know how these blasters perform so even if they don't like Tactoys they will watch the video to learn how it performs and then they can buy from somewhere else, that's up to them.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT You are right that its up to us where we buy from but by saying that you can buy from any retailers, BUT dangle tactoys' 10% discount just feels like manipulation on unwary consumers to go with tactoys and further perpetuating the issue. Tactoys wont change their tune and improve their business knowing that influencers are still sending customers to them. You know very well how shady tactoys are yet you will send your viewers over to them, its just not right.

As far as the piston. from what i have seen from disassembly vids about gel baster. Alot of time their 1 on 1 direct same in some areas as airsoft guns. Maybe a airsoft piston will work if allowed? I know AS gun are banned but what about parts?

What's the best gel balls to use with this rifle, and how long should I grow them? I just got one for christmas and I'm having a lot of feed issues (either not feeding at all or feeding too many at once. I'm new to gel blasting so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
I'd probably suggest iHobby gels and make sure you load the gels with the bolt action nice and quick

Hi Brad - Upgraded the spring as per your video and initially no issues - 20 or so shots worked well. Now when loading, the bolt is not required to be pushed back to the load position once pulled back as it just shoots back on its own. Any idea what has gone wrong?
Guessing the piston has worn down where it catches. There's a metal upgrade kit you can get from Zhenduo which should solve the issue.

I recieved my remington today. I followed your video instructions, but could not get the metal spring rest out. So after a while I gave up on getting the metal spring rest out and put the blaster back together. But after putting everything back together, it doesn't fire anything anymore. I didn't even touch the spring or any mechanical parts. Also I broke the back of the bolt, and now that is missing it's nub. Any ideas of what might be wrong?
Possibly where you broke it the safety is stuck on?

I think I saw on another video if you rack the reload fast it stops the double feed
The MSR mags feed for 1 second regardless of how fast you rack the bolt, it's a timer in the mag. Trust me we tried cycling it faster and slower and both gave double feeding.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT OK fair enough mate, you have the rizer 2 hop up, is there much difference to just the rizer one, they look similair from the video, they only had the rizer when I went to tac edge so I got that one.
@@teamgt7690 I've had both, plus the AKA metal and new Warinterest Z2 hop up. Rizer V2 is the best out of them all.

The MSR is probably a little more reliable because of its timer in the magazine that stops gels feeding continuously if you leave the bolt open

Good review. JY definitely improved this blaster over the AWM. Not sure why you're getting double feet issues. Other reviews I've seen they dont have that.
Again, I'll be heading to other retailers because I dont trust tac toys. I've been burnt by their nonsense and I wont be taking my business to them ever again and I suggest you do the same when there are many other retailers that treats customers right. Just not tac toys
The pinned comment shows you that other people are having the double feed issues, and almost every person I've spoken to who owns one of these blasters has the same double feed problem. Possibly the other reviewers omitted the issue.
