@@pf5658 you clearly didn't 😂 His ceiling fan was on cause it was hot. He built the box because of a draft, then he insulated it because OUTSIDE HEAT was getting in. Tone your harsh down. You never know when you'll be in the wrong 😜
I have exactly 12 inches of depth in the ceiling where I want to mount this. Only one foot between my ceiling sheetrock and the second floor above. Will that be enough space when fully closed to conceal a projector that is only about 2.5 inches tall? Or could I cut/shorten the four metal rods that hold up the ceiling plate to decrease the overall depth.
jameskovach >> you could def cut the rods. Just remember that the projector will be mounted upside down on lift. If you have manual controls like I do on my Epson, might be hard to get to. You will have a tight fit since you’ll only be working with 12” of space. But if you can build, you can def make use of that tight space.
Gorilla Jones - the base plate measures 20”X20”.. The unit base plate is 20” above ceiling Sheetrock. That’s more room than needed. So when lift is in closed position/up, there is roughly 20”of space between ceiling plate, manual projector controls;zoom, power button etc..projector mounting bracket, scissor lift mechanism, lift motor. The ceiling is 9’, the max lowering of unit depends on lowering limit switch. I have mine set to lower to 30”. Can go as far as 36”. Also account the space above ceiling line. You can sub the ceiling plate (nice square sheet metal looking thing) for whatever you like to accommodate your projector size. My measurements of inside box are 23X23x20.
@@vgnope Thanks, I don't have quite that much space. I've got 17.5 inches between floors, so not as much space as you. Still trying to find something for the 5040 Epson.
Gamecock 24 - I have it plugged to a surge protector. 8plug. So I can on/off all electronics. ie reciever, projector, lift, everything for home theatre system. I didn’t think it would be good to have unit always plugged in
@@vgnope I have the same projector lift but can’t figure out how to program it. Can you be more specific on how you programmed it as the instructions are junk. Thanks.
@@procutmediagroup I don’t think it had a program to it. Only power to motor which allowed the lift to raise/lower. You can change the position of the limit switch which limit the amount of travel /power to motor allowing the lift to function. Check video @ 2:15 ish. Limit switch screws are top left of picture.
Vadim Shapiro there’s limit switch connected to unit. That when there’s power, the rollers that extend/close the legs will trip the limit switch disconnecting power to motor
Sweet! I have a drop ceiling in my English classroom and I'm going to do this to get rid of the old video cart.
I have the same mount.. yea.. directions are worthless.. so there are 4 springs with this.. what are those for?? Great video ...
Springs are for the ceiling flush mount plate.
Very nice, but shouldn’t you be venting the box instead of insulating it to get rid of the heat though?

But its not on when inside the box. Wont be any heat. Why need ventilation
@@sensedesignarchitecture543 Did you even watch the video?

Hi! How accurate is the projector mount? What is the difference on the screen in mm. each time when you move the projector?
The projector was mounted solid in the lift unit. No need to reposition after lowering unit.

nice work, do you have the dimensions of this lift? I need to hide an Epson 5040ube which is 21x17x9. Can you control how low this drops down?
thanks!

How is the lift connected to power? Plug in or hard wired?

Strong work! Looks like you synchronized the projector lift and screen movement with each other. If so, how’d you accomplish that? Thanks.
