    CAN YOU DO A VIDEO ON LIFE AFTER AIT!!!! Like what should happen afterwards, how long you had off, etc. This video was very informative.

    What you say is spot on. Good job.

      Impossible to determine. Biggest thing is what's your comfort level with physical tasks, intellectual tasks, detailed and patience type tasks.
      If you're going NG, you can probably do 10 years in a combat arms MOS, be ok and as long as you move up the ranks in the prescribed time, you'll be good to go. Want to shoot stuff or blow stuff up, grunt life is it for you. Don't look to be glorified or have any special advantages other than telling everyone else that they are not as good as you.
      If you're looking to learn a specific skill, do some research then look up what that field is like in the civilian world and pair it up with a military MOS. You may be recognized more for your work, life will be more comfortable but you'll need to remember that whatever you do, somehow in some way supports a soldier in the field.
      Both routes are good and has its values.
      Hope this helps,
      Alex

    so do you not get the 2 week break after BMT ? how does getting your things work ? I have clothes and shoes , a ps4 that I might want to bring to AIT . should I just wait until I get to my first duty station ?

    • @otisbloo
      @otisbloo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gianni Ludd nah bro you only get 24 hours maybe. But it depends if you are graduating around the holidays then you do get to go home for a week in some cases.

    • @KazzyBabby
      @KazzyBabby 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fit Soldier so you don't get off time at all , you just go straight to your first duty station ?

    • @otisbloo
      @otisbloo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea bro if i was you i would wait till you get to your first duty station, but if you can't wait you can have your family send it to you while you are in AIT

    • @PartTime1SG
      @PartTime1SG 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For active duty, you'll have an opportunity to have to secure your stuff as you will have accumulated some leave time. Don't have your household goods shipped to you at AIT or you're going to have a hell of a time carrying that stuff to your actual duty station. They'll give you all the instruction with plenty of time to react and take care of business during your AIT.

    my son is in basic training at fort jackson and will stay there for 3 wks after that for pre req then going to fort benn for 3 wks. after that goint to ft. lee for ait. his mos is 92r. he didn't reallyvwant that but at the time it was the only job available. his recruiter kinda pushed him into doing it seeing he's only 18. Do you think he will do pretty much alright in ait?

    • @otisbloo
      @otisbloo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yup you will have to finish AIT first. You can change your MOS later but its a lot of work its just better to pick something you wouldn't mind doing for a while first

    can you have visitors during ait?

    • @otisbloo
      @otisbloo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mercedez Nash depends on what privileges they have and depends on if the visitor is in the military or not. If they have an off post pass you can see them on the weekends. If you are in the military you can just come on base and plan on seeing them when they have free time or not in class.

      @PartTime1SG 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you active or NG?
      Let me tell you, every unit has a 92Y and by far the second most challenging job for lower enlisted. Supply makes or breaks a unit. It's 1SGs top priority along with Pay and food as it can significantly impact training and readiness.
      People will both love you and hate you. Get used to it. Keep your paperwork straight, know what you have and always anticipate what you will need and you should be good to go. Also, always ask for help and ensure to maintain positive control of your area so you don't lose anything.
      Hope this helps,
      Alex

      PartTime1SG Glad I got to read your comment. I’m on my way to Fort Lee right now for AIT as my MOS is 92Y as well. As being in the reserves, is the demand high or low for deployment? Does it just depend on my unit? I was just curious, thanks!

    how long is AIT?

    • @otisbloo
      @otisbloo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it depends on your MOS. Each MOS has a different length of AIT, Mine was 9 weeks long but some can be 1 year like for some medical jobs etc.

    • @meztliambriz7037
      @meztliambriz7037 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope you're not suppose to consume alcohol while still in training even if you're off post, if they catch you or test you then you will get USMJ and subject to being kicked out. Trust me i know i've seen it happen to other soldiers.
