They cut the part where two little boys accidently dropped their base ball in the street, and the Batmobile stopped for them to pick it up , then drove away after they do. It was classic cliff hanger.
Love the special effects. When they leave the catapult, they are going horizontal at about 20 mph. Should land about 20 feet from the launcher. Then a still drawing of them flies through the air for a while, executes a de-rotation pivot to land on their backs. Take THAT CGI! :)
"Nevermind, I just remembered it." "As you recall, Robin, I spent last week testing the remote control unit of the Batmobile." Like Robin remembered that.
As with Batman and James Bond, all those elaborate death traps. In real life criminals just shoot. Not talk alot, not setting up devices to kill an adversary.
I guess none of these super crazy intelligent villains thought of just shooting Batman and Robin while they're tied up? Or hanging around to make sure they didn't wriggle out of the trap? Or taking their masks off to see who they really are?? AARGH must turn off logical part of brain...
I must have missed the part where he also programmed the Batmobile to deploy a catch net. And the part where they got untied somehow. And the part of physics class where the cubed root of Pi has anything to do with trajectory computations. And when did they check the launch energy imparted by the catapult? Maybe last week while he was programming his doo hickey? Still... pretty awesome!
They started playing this on WADL in Detroit in 2009. It's AWESOME! Just like catching the re runs in the 70's on Detroit TV! Cat Woman was smokin HOT!
Loved how when the Batmobile got to the street where Batman and Robin were to come down, the trunk opened and the net unfolded just seconds before they landed on it. Holy close one!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not always!! :) You'd think Penguin would've at least. This is his trap. :) Mind you, I think he meant to let them live since they're still technically using the movie production company as a front.
Clock King took their belts when he trapped them in a hourglass. Jocker locked up his gadgets in his belt when his henchman roped them. Catwoman removed the belts when she trapped them in a echo chamber
Batmobile just happens to have a catch net in the trunk for this very occasion. Gotta love it. This kind of campiness still survives in The Flash, where Cisco just happens to have the right gadget or the ability to make one for EVERY situation.
What I remember is : Batman and Robin appearing before the show telling the camera "Batman cannot fly" .. "Holy broken bones Batman". They must have put out those messages for a reason.
I first saw this show in the 70s as a really young kid. Concepts such as sarcasm and camp are completely incomprehensible to you at that young an age. So because I thought I was just watching an action/adventure show, I didn't understand why my older brothers and sisters were laughing hysterically at scenes like this! 🤣
I think this was edited. The funniest part is missing. I swear the original had the batmobile coming to a stop at one point to let some old lady cross the street.
Two kids actually. One was bouncing a ball, then dropped it. He ran to pick it up then moved on. All the while, the Batmobile stayed stationary but was bouncing up and down. It's better seen than explained, haha!!
The edited part has the Batmobile stop so two small boys with a baseball can cross the street. Also, the Batmobile safely makes its way to the rescue by not speeding.( The bouncing was because it was anxious to get to the rescue on time and waiting for those kids to get out of the way.)
@TheNewWorldMan69 ... You know, after diligent research, studious consideration, learned consultation and sober reflection I have at last arrived at the conclusion ... You may indeed be right! The events depicted here do not seem entirely plausible. Thankyou for your sage insight.
LOL! How Adam West and Burt Ward ever did this show with a straight face is beyond me. Hilarious, campy FUN! This is why the 1960s Batman is superior to all other Batmen.
When I was a kid about six years old there was an older kid in the neighborhood who we thought was sort of odd. He kept saying that he wanted to fool around with Robin. Back then we didn't know what being gay was. We just thought he was a weirdo.
@dankerthanclanker that's true. it would most likely just throw them down onto the floor and break their ribs, as their hands are tied up and they cannot break the fall.
They're not tied to that catapult -- only their legs are tied together. It would take about 5 seconds to roll the hell off! "Holy we are idiots, Batman!"
1) why didn't they just roll off 2) why didn't they just untie themselves before they were launched because it was so easy once they landed in the net 3) why is this still awesome reguadless of previously stated facts
So the on button is red and the off button is green? Shouldn't it be the other way around. and btw, the way Robin says "What are you doing" is hilarious at 0:09
I love how intensely stressed Robin is in this scene!
1960s Batman: One of the most entertaining and hilarious shows ever created
Even in the campy 60's batman's an unstoppable mastermind

This has got to be one of the funniest shows ever created. I was seriously dieing laughing at about almost everything that was said.
"Nevermind, I just remembered it."
"As you recall, Robin, I spent last week testing the remote control unit of the Batmobile."
Like Robin remembered that.
The good old remote control. Gotta love their gadgets.
Robin: "Remind me to give the Batmobile an extra quart of oil next time we change it "
Classic 😂
"And now we got to get our hands on a certain oily bird."😂👍🏾

Just shooting them would take all the fun out of it, so it needs to be an overly elaborate, somewhat escapapble death.

Don't question the batman!
Don't forget using green for off and red for on... not that anyone would ever see those lights, anyway.
@@d4b Batman must be German. That is how German electrical switchgear lights are. Red means energized, Green mean off.
@@fastacker2 Ahh!! Of COURSE!!
Forgot the part when the Batmobile stops so those two kids can safely cross the street, once they cross the Batmobile swiftly speeds on its way.😂

This was the Best Show on Television.

Awww...the part where the Batmobile stops for the kids running into the middle of the street was cut out :(
That's TV Land for you!! :(
His calculations were in error but the bat mobile corrected for their landing zone area.
Que genial era esta serie, después de décadas la miro y me sigue haciendo reir.
The bad guys always forget to remove Batman's gadgets.
Not always!! :) You'd think Penguin would've at least. This is his trap. :) Mind you, I think he meant to let them live since they're still technically using the movie production company as a front.
Or they can just shoot them.
@@patrickpettyjr.3134 Luckily, they forget that also.

An extra quart of oil?.
RIP Adam West.
This batmobile is better than the current one.
That is a great clip.
This is my Batman from my youth.

*Superman looks up* "I feel....one-upped..."

Holy liability insurance, Batman! Impressionable kids will try doing anything!
The oily bird gets the worm. :)
"Never mind i just remember it....."
Dont let robin near your car.
Bat-Logic at it's finest.
An extra quart of oil?
Robin..it will blow a.gasket!!.
Thats just epic one of the modt delightfull posts ive seen in a great many years well done all envolved.😅😅😅😅😅😅
The same way they dressed themselves on the way down the Batpoles, MrManfly

I remember that too, or was that in another episode?

Oh
"Remind me to give it (the Batmobile) an extra quart of oil next time we change it."
Wouldn't that harm the engine?
Definitely
Another happy landing.
I wish we could return to this Batman. Realistic villains have become so dull.
Fantastic!
Batman behave - this is not the time to get your hands on an 'oily bird'.....
Don't you just hate forgetting the cube root of pi?
+NEKROS 1.464591888.....
Next time Robin changed the batmobile's oil he ruined the engine.
ive never thought that robin's outfit can be better than batman's one o_o
Woo! Look at the Batman fly!
Wasn't there a part of this episode that showed the Batmobile stopping at red lights or for kids in the street??
dude, that trajectory and power behind it would not get him across a city, barely get them a yard.
An extra quart of oil not a good idea Boy Blunder.......blow the seals on the Batmobile.
I'm computing our trajectoryyyyyy...
Kids nowdays find this hilarious, they thought this was a Batman parody, people back in the 60s, was too naive.
God damn!
Holy production-value!
acid test LOL--they were prob dropping acid like crazy on this show
That is hysterical.
ADAM WEST (R.I.P)
LOL! How Adam West and Burt Ward ever did this show with a straight face is beyond me. Hilarious, campy FUN! This is why the 1960s Batman is superior to all other Batmen.
I wonder if People back then considered this cutting-edge and realistic
The little kids
I wish he would have said what the cube Root of pi is. Now I wont get any sleep
Adams west R.I.P
how did they manage to untie themselves in mid air??
When I was a kid about six years old there was an older kid in the neighborhood who we thought was sort of odd. He kept saying that he wanted to fool around with Robin. Back then we didn't know what being gay was. We just thought he was a weirdo.
It's still being a weirdo
If the catapult throws them into the air, that means they aren't tied down to it in anyway, so why not just roll off the catapult?
Go away
@dankerthanclanker --TRUE! But when I was a kid, that catapult looked HUGE and I believed it!!
He said computations anyway. The word came up on my iPhone automatically so it must be an actual word! Ha! Batman is right again!
@49bobbyk --Thanks for posting that---I just asked that very same question!
i can see this working.
that could never happen in real life.
I WANT ROBINS SHORTS!!!
The batmobile has a massive net in the boot? wtf
IllegalTacos
yyug👙👙👙👙👙👙👙🎩
Yeah it's true Batman can fly in dear Batman can fly
@dankerthanclanker that's true. it would most likely just throw them down onto the floor and break their ribs, as their hands are tied up and they cannot break the fall.
cube root(pi) = 1.46459189
I didn't have the internet when I was a kid and seen this show the first time :)
They're not tied to that catapult -- only their legs are tied together. It would take about 5 seconds to roll the hell off! "Holy we are idiots, Batman!"
You cut the scene! There's more to it, including the kids with the baseball!
...Couldn't they just roll off of the catapult?
I mean, nothing is really stopping them.
good ole GPS.
OMG that guy that does Robin is a damn good actor! I'm impressed.
Burt Ward.
1:21 jajajajaj no mames, cómo es que ésto no sale con el batusi ni el tiburón ni la bomba hahaha
Since guano is so valuable Batman could sell his turds and give the money to the homeless.
Hahahahahaha.
loooool
😂😂 I’m gonna get my hands in an oily bird when I get home!
acid test indeed
The fact that Batman can pull this kind of shit out of his ass while dealing with the face of death makes him the Badass of all time.
What in the actual Fuck!
LOL
robin should have said holy flying superman
i DONT UNDERSTAND WHY GOTHAM CITY TRUSTED THESE TWO HALLOWEEN COSTUMERS TO SOLVE THERE CRIM?. LET THE POLICE HANDLE THAT.
Watch the show. The Gotham City police couldnt catch a Jay Walker or a litterbug without Batmans help
Pretty realistic....
Here's the full scene (in better quality!)
th-cam.com/video/8kzWAMqLj8U/w-d-xo.html
and it would have worked too had not a traffick jam delayed the Batmobile by minutes :)
1) why didn't they just roll off
2) why didn't they just untie themselves before they were launched because it was so easy once they landed in the net
3) why is this still awesome reguadless of previously stated facts
This was part of a three part episode that actually started the week before. They had to make it believable. :)
Batman always got out of ropes and traps! Suspense!
this is exactly like iron man 3
So the on button is red and the off button is green? Shouldn't it be the other way around. and btw, the way Robin says "What are you doing" is hilarious at 0:09
It would have been funny if they had Superman flying around and save them
Just roll off the catapult
Batman talks like Sheldon! xD
Wow only Batman and Robin could pull that off and make it believable Lol
batman was great back then.. we had no internet no mobile phones..and lucky to have a tv.. interacting with people was actually meeting them..
