Part of a cars "personality" is the instrument cluster, the switches, the gauges etc. Allowing Apple to homogenise a very important part of the cars personality is a little strange, So I get into a Porsche or a Lamborghini and the cluster looks the same? More-so it feels the same. Not sure this is a step in the right direction.
You misunderstand, CarPlay only works when you plug your iPhone directly into a car that supports it and you enable it. Apple isn't forcing the software onto anybody, this is entirely optional.
@@ImAyeGuest No I do understand. If plugging in my phone makes the whole dash Apple when I want to use CarPlay that's a problem,. I hope the experience is selectable and doesn't immediately take over the car if you want to enabled CarPlay the way it is right now.
@@KmanAust I don't think you do, because I already touched on that in my original comment. You are not forced to use CarPlay, if you do not wish to use it you can always disable it. I'm not sure if all cars are like this but every CarPlay compatible car I've driven doesn't have CarPlay completely take over right when you connect your phone, you still have to hit the CarPlay button in the car's menu. So disabling isn't even necessary in at least some cars.
@@ImAyeGuest Dude what drugs are you on? I LIKE CARPLAY in it's current incarnation. I want to continue to use it as it is. I hope that if I do I am not forced to make CarPlay take over the whole car. Are we both speaking English? Check your comprehension.
I have a kia rio 2019
Carplay works only with old iPhones ,but my iphone 13 doesn’t connect to the car..
I don’t understand who that’s possible
So vehicle manufacturers are just gonna allow a major software company full control of their hardware including sensors which provide a multitude of data? A company who also wants to produce their own vehicle? This will be interesting!
They’ve never said they want to produce their own vehicle. That’s just rumors that’ll probably never come to fruition. Or at least not any time soon. It is interesting to see how this actually integrates with the car instead of basically casting a screen to the dash display
@@theogKavani even if that were true allowing that much data to be controlled by a third party company is risky. Some companies will be curious to try it but I don't see all manufacturers hoping on that train immediately. I mean everything computerized by the vehicle will be given full access to Apple.
@@denziiey look at the list of manufacturers announced it’s quite a bit for pre launch so you can bet more and more car manufacturers will join!
Apple should work harder with car manufacturers. Just bought a 2022 trailhawk. Car play disconnects from Bluetooth every minute. They haven’t fixed an issue that’s been around since 2015-2016
Lexus not in the picture?
Lexus didn’t adopt CarPlay until 2019, you really think they’d adopt this update
only "initial partner" toyota is also adopt applecar lately
thats how toyota does things, they are always slow to new tech and prioritize reliability first
@@jordanzs521 lol….Toyota quality is garbage now a days.
So what if I have an aftermarket double din in a older car with car play will it change
Come on Toyota get on the list !
They are slow
Why not Hyundai ? Almost all models have apple car play and newer models have digital odometers.
this will be interesting to see how/if it'll work with GMC and their denali's
So glad I saw the Honda logo there 😍 I always use Carplay, its so much faster and better than the built in system, both in maps and Spotify.
The real question is can i record sound while driving
Real question is can I watch Netflix lol 😂
Seriously my biggest pet peeve about it lol
So would my current apple car play work like this too????
Yay! We’re giving Apple even more of our information now!
Can we make a choice of which garage door to open finally? I am stuck on the least used.
This looks amazing!
Its all very nice, but not much use when you lose your phone signal - as in going over Woodhead !
Am I the only person who hates the bloated dashboard screen? What the hell do you need to see widgets in your car for? Why do you need to see a digital analog clock? Even the front facing console UI seems incredibly unnecessary. The center console is all you need and it's the only area they should be messing with with your car.
That’s the point, and that’s the beauty of software… You’ll be able to show just what you want to see how you want to see it, it’s the ultimate in personalization
Did you even watch the video? That’s the entire point; being able to customize what you want in your car. Anything else to complain about?
I still drive my 1990 Honda Accord. Y’all got a tape cassette adapter that’s compatible with my iPhone 3S?
sucks that us with 2022 cars won’t get any new features! 😭
Yes you will. This is an IOS update. It will work on cars with Apple CarPlay.
When will this start
OMG THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT IF APPLE IS ABLE TO TAP INTO MY FULL DIGITAL DASHBOARD AND GIVE ME A COOL LAYOUT
Just got an iPhone is this going to work on 2019 models
be nice if they just allowed youtube as an app you could use without any bs. would love to just chill out if i’m ever waiting on someone and just watch youtube until then.
I love this! Even if it was only accessible in park it would be cool
@@Raini2727 heck yes!
Yes bro
Where is the on screen temp for outside?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I can't wait for the future Apple presentation announcing with great fanfare that Carplay supports physical knobs because after extended market research they discovered that having a tactile feel of your options is important when driving a car.
my bmw has carplay and works with the knobs 🤡
but it isnt important
probably already does
How good are ads instead of news
Cool concept but I won’t buy a new vehicle just for this feature.
I’m going to put sugar in your current car’s gas tank
TH-cam won’t play the video just sound in CarPlay how do bypass?
I need this…
Is this only for new cars. Or will existing cars with display dashboard screen. I already have CarPlay but my dashboard is a screen with Audi UI.
I wonder if there will be any changes or new features to the standard small screen CarPlay on iOS 16. As of today in Beta 4 there seems to be no significant changes to iOS 15. Would love to see a new UI.
fr they think we have a long a$$ tv in our car haha
Can i do this with my 2018 chev Malibu premier?
Just take my money 💰 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
When this subscription will start?
Surprised to see Polestar on the list since they’re committed with Google
Yes polestar uses google car OS entirely it’s not just after tought
This will be available to late next year? That sucks
Didn’t see Toyota on the list but I think they will have it too especially on the 2023 GR Corolla which has a fully digital instrument cluster
Toyota is slow to add new technology they are just adding CarPlay in 2020/2020 vehicles
Apart from them being slow maybe, they might also go for Android Automotive, which is Google's operating system that takes over the whole car, similar to this
The new functions works on older 2020 vehicle?
Me having a CarPlay double din stereo in my clapped out 20 year old pickup.
i have a 12 year old fiat 500 and i have the 2din caplay too 😂😂
Remember putting a cd into the player and just listening?.. now it's apps and codes and pins and passwords and area reception..
WTF??
