That’s rainwater pipe next to the entrance door is such an architectural oversight.

Large roof over hangs are beautiful and protect the doors, windows and siding from rain and moisture damage.
Water is the enemy of buildings. Architects and home builders need to bring back large roof over hangs
Great observation. We didn't think of this during our visit as weren't personally affected however its and understandable consideration from a home owners perspective.

Hey Joseph they have underfloor heating throughout the home. We were super toasty and warm during our stay.

@@josephl9619 no worries at all. We were there in October. We came from the Gold Coast where we live now, so NZ in general is colder for us as used to the warm QLD weather. So if we were warm at The Point, most people will be more than fine 😊

There is enough solar gain in that design to heat the rammed earth wall to stabilise internal temperature me thinks

I didn't understand clearly how can you enter in the second bedroom separately... and How can I cover the bedrooms from the light to sleep peacefully? ... And Sorry... From an italian point of view that big wall at the entrance Is very ugly.

Hey Sara, we didn’t show it very clearly but there is another hallway on the opposite side behind the first bedroom wall / door you see next to the picture. Both bedrooms have blinds to block the light when needed. Thanks for watching

The third floor has only one bedroom with ensuite, kitchen, living room, half bathroom off the living room, lift. I like a nice layout, swimming pool facing the guest house of two bedroom/kitchen/bathroom.
I like well designed home architect digest type. If I give it a bit of thought I could edited a bit more…private with a few acres. Oh yeah, I like off grid living, and location Is everything.

Do the house have lithium storage batteries. If so they will need to be replaced 15-20 years and what do with used battery. Mainly throw it away. Hey thats real environmental Plus lithium is a slave child labour so ethically not great

Terrible concrete monstrosity. The surrounding is beautiful but whoever designed this neo-Brutalist crime against humanity deserves to have their registration revoked. The interior is boring as well, why do half the fancy Airbnb's in Anglo countries have this design now? Maybe the guests don't care because they have no personality and no taste. Might as well stay in a home fitted with Ikea stuff and save yourself a lot of money.

I see 23 solar panels. Is that enough for all the lights they had on for the video “during the day”. Gas cooker for food, big fireplace for heat. One tv. I’d say just about 5kw of energy a day should cover the houses electric use. It’s new so should be designed to not overheat during summers so I won’t assume it’s got ac. But would this be just a summer spring autumn type of place anyway. It’s very remote. How cold is it, can NZ get snowy during their winters?
the best part is the location and the outside of the house. the inside is totally lacking in imagination ... basically its an open space with sliding doors to separate off the two bedrooms. just to make me even more of a misery guts the over enthusiastic everso gushing excitement of .... wait for it ... underfloor heating ... and the general presentation is way over the top. understated comments would work well and would then lessen the over the top enthusiasm for what is, essentially, a box. ouch right?
It is a lovely home, however it is not extraordinary. Her description about the design and decor is over the top.

The land and sea is amazing, the Bach itself is pretty cool. The decor is quite ugly and idk what it is, but kiwis ain't really good with "interior design" work even in our most expensive homes. Don't get me wrong the back is nice but wouldn't say it's amazing or anything.

Is there anyone who can buy such a place like that if anyone can have enouch cash? For in my country there is a place like that we have so many restricted by the law and many step by step.
Hey this is a great questions and there is definitely places like that surrounded by restrictions or additional hurdles in order to purchase in New Zealand as well for various reasons. In this case, the land is indeed owned by local residence including a very nearby farm which is also located waterside they own. :)

Not too sure. However there is many things to consider when building a home for sure. Key things on ones list may or may not be as important on other peoples list for various reasons or recommendations. This home won an award for the Eco Category. An absolute beauty 🙂

Aw thanks so much Syd! Funnel web spiders are in both Australia and New Zealand. Barely ever see them in NZ but a bit more often Aussie though but they are fine as long as we keep our distance as we always do. Tornadoes aren’t a thing here thankfully 😅
