    I was thinking about those changes like cutting off constant being in the Internet (no scrolling), cutting of comfort foods, comedy shows, and comforting little useless chats etc...
    ... and so many people thought I am crazy, too radical, I am not a person that can live in the society. I felt I was made weird, but THANK YOU for helping me to come back to my clear vision.
    How precious is life, that it is not meant to be wasted on little pleasures that keep us from reaching to the big goals and fulfilling our destination. I am thankful for pointing out that cutting something that is not considered a grave sin can be truely liberating. Even by the church people or our relatives it can be called extremism, which is not true. Sinking into all pleasures possible in order to regulate our nervous system is really blocking us from growth, change and happiness. Being serious with those things is being serious with ourselves and our lives.

    Being aware & to better understanding our 7 human desires to be Heard & Understood, Safe, Touched, Affirmed, Blessed, Chosen, Included/Belong, can help us better appreciate the parables Jesus shared in the Gospel, and use them to overcome our addictions & sins when we turn to Jesus to meet & fulfill our deepest needs & desires.

    I still have to remind myself on a regular basis to behave when it comes to overeating. Whenever I want to have too much of something, i remember "I'm doing this with Jesus. Does He really want me to do this? Eat that? Say this?" And so on. Thanks, Father Kilcawley. ❤

    This is so beautiful, so real, not preachy does not come across as a sermon read off a script. We need to be hungry for more of Jesus. He has to be, we need him to dwell completely on the throne of our hearts. He stretched out his arms on that cross and said this is how much I love you. ❤

    I wish I could know what it's like to live "life more abundantly" or "to the full." It seems very very very much like the real definition of abundant life is more like, "remember, it could be worse." Life is a drudgery and my only hope for improved existence seems to be heaven. It has made my vision for life a bit like - just persevere in the faith, just "make it" until I die. That's not like joy, to me. I want joy in the Lord.

      Hi,
      Pray for grace and your life would be more meaningful. I believe that by acknowledging our dependence to God we can find his grace. Think about it as coming to your father, your best friend and truly the person that knows you best and just talking to him and telling him all your secrets, troubles, and asking him for guidance. Hang in there my friend. Your not alone.

    When I try to confess massive overeating the priest says food alone is not a sin and that it is only gluttony if alcohol is involved according to st Thomas Aquinas. Maybe he meant not a mortal sin but still venial? Hard to believe something so destructive could not be a sin.

    • @glennlanham6309
      @glennlanham6309 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think they understand food addiction and using food like a drug. I think that overeating has been normalised.

    • @lorleetee1887
      @lorleetee1887 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I confessed the same and the priest didn't take me serious. Unless you're a slave to bingeing on food, you won't understand how much it robs a person of the abundant life and a desire to live. Sugary carbs are so soothing, they give me wings...but take away the sky. TERRIBLE addiction
