I've built half of my glow bag with MVP. Great glow. Kasta glow is also consistently outstanding. My newest fave is the recent Glo DD from Discmania, the glow is awesome and the disc flies really really well

I throw a lot of MVP just cuz pretty much all their discs are flat, have smooth edges and good rigidity. Molds fly pretty consistent from run to run and flight doesn't vary too much between plastics. As a rec player it's nice to know what I'm buying is gonna do what it should
Really true for every brand. The people that claim massive differences in the same mold are the same people that can't throw the same shot twice in 10 tries.
I haven’t bought an mvp/axiom disc that matches what the flight numbers would suggest. They have all been consistently more overstable than I’d expect. It may come down to how flat the discs are, but they sure need to figure that part out.

MVP understates their stability. Innova invented flight numbers but their discs basically make their flight numbers a range.
Aviar, whale, aviarx3, pig, toro, roc, roc3, gator, jay, mako3, teebird, eagle, TL, leopard3, thunderbird, firebird, sexton firebird, tern, shryke, wraith, destroyer and Xcal all see play in professionals and casuals bags. 22 molds, with tons of people liking sharks, wombat3s, polecats, teebird3s, chargers, mambas, savants, novas, Rhynos, max’s and whatnot. 7 molds aint it.
I found them randomly a few weeks ago, they were my first discs so I can't compare a lot(and I'm terrible), but I've really enjoyed them so far and feel the quality is better solid.
This was fun! It was good to see someone who has seen a lot of discs, molds, plastics, etc. to rate them against each other, and I mostly agree! I would love to see a similar video about a lot of the smaller and newer companies which are breaking onto the scene, even if they are manufactured by another mother company. I LOVE Clash and Mint, and I’d love to see companies like Doomsday and Lonestar on here
I love Thoughtspace and I’m glad you mentioned them at the end. Just wish a disc or two would have been featured but I get it you can’t be throwing all day. They’re discs feel so great and look amazing and funny enough I only bag one mvp disc right now but hope to try more soon.
I think you were pretty spot on with these top companies. Would've liked to see Clash get a shout-out. I think they have a top 5 or better plastic & feel, although some of their molds are hard to get a hold of up til now. Also the Royal line from Lat 64 is a top plastic imo. Great video Trevor. 👍

I've been an Innova Boy for over 35 years and have all my slots filled (phrasing) with discs in various states of wear. But I've struggled with finding consistency in fairway drivers. I just don't have the time to break in 3 or 4 to have enough to practice with. I found the Arrow from Gateway for that "flat-to-flip and not burn over" slot. I also found a nice disc for longer anheizer shots that will still fight to stay fairly stable in the Oxygen by Element, a new company. And you can't go wrong with Prodigy's F7 for rollers. I gave up dicking with new putters and currently bag a beadless Aviar that's close to 30 years old. This old dog is always willing to learn new tricks.
I swear fission waves does have that effect that goes further. I can throw it 50ish ft further than any other distance driver that I have. As for the other molds I’ve tried from mvp, I can’t say that it has that effect lol. I think it’s just cuz the fission wave is understable and I love throwing on hyzer. For reference I normally throw 280-300 and the fission wave I can throw around 325-340ish
A local shop has a library card type idea and I’ve tried out lots of prodigy discs. The a3 pa5 pa3 m4 x3 and x2 all have a home in my bag. Their plastic feels amazing as well.
(I’m partially bias being on their street team) but the 400 plastic for prodigy is the best plastic I’ve felt, perfect amount of flex & great grip. I think 90% of my bag is 400 or 400g.
Trevor, outstanding job on this video. Very judicious review and rating system, on top of a nice little history for each company. I’d love to see a part two of this where you dive into the “niche” manufacturer market. It’d be cool to see each of the attribute rankings, for companies such as: - Gateway - Legacy - Clash - RPM - Viking - Divergent - Finish Line - Elevation - Doomsday - Yikun And Prodiscus! A lot of those brands have been around for a long while - several of them longer than MVP.
The innova R pro pig is the most unique disc I’ve ever thrown. It is reliable, overstabl, and once it hits the ground it just stops on a dime. Amazing disc. I have a few other approach discs but this is a must have in my opinion. A solid overstable mid or zone type disc is a must have to pair with the pig just to have a slide in os disc because pig doesn’t slide at all. Which is lovely if you have the air space. I also bag a berg-x for forehands. The prodigy pa-5 rounds up my approach discs as the understabls e compliment to the berg-x.
I've always thrown Innova, but I've noticed some sharp edges underneath the disc. That's why I'm here because I want to branch out. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that as well. Great video btw

Recently started throwing their Construct driver and it is fighting their Mantra for my favorite driver. Interesting to know MVP and Thought Space are connected, no wonder I also really like MVP Neutron plastic. MVP Inertia is also a driver I like a lot
You can get effectively the same thing from any of them, even if the flight numbers vary a bit. Every needed bag slot can be filled with an absolutely viable disc in a variety of great plastics.
Started out with a Discmania starter set. Really decent set to begin with but I lost all the disc 😂. Now I’m throwing mainly Innova and Discraft. Have a lot of MVPs now as well, I find it doesn’t really matter what brand they all make good discs!!
You should check out Essential discs out of Michigan… they have their over stable approach called the honey and and under stable fairway called the oxygen…. Both great discs!!!!
Thanks for this video. Educational. I’m an Innova guy with some Discraft sprinkled in but I’ve been getting into Westside and MVP discs lately. I agree that Westside is often overlooked. I find their discs have great grip and glide well.
I started with Innova like everyone else. My bag's purely MVP and Westside these days. MVP started bumping Innova molds long before Conrad even knew they existed, and I have enough Bears and Swords to start my own shop.
As a Discraft only thrower I think their biggest weakness is not having premium plastic in all their putters. I would love to throw challenger. Challenger OS and SS in ESP. That or not having an Athena OS yet
Agreed, the esp ringer gt is crazy underrated, and would be way a better stock plastic than jawbreaker, but they only run stuff like that for ledgestone. 😢

Innova really does feel hit and miss with quality control. I have a shryke and thunderbird that are amazing and super true to flight numbers. Meanwhile a roadrunner I picked up is super overstable.
House of discs isn't examined correctly my guy. House of discs OWNS Trilogy, Discmania and Kastaplast. Trilogy is still manufactured by trilogy with trilogy plastic, Discmania is manufactured independently and so is Kastaplast. House just owns these brands now, but their molds and plastics are unchanged outside of in house innovations.
Innova, all over the World? Have you seen their international shipping? It costs more than the discs. Meanwhile, Latitude64 ship anywhere for 20 €/$ in less than 2 days.
Thought space athletics is my number one disc golf brand. Don’t get me wrong I have a mixed bag. But thought Pace athletics is definitely overrepresented in my bag. I all of the companies you talked about here. But thought Pace athletics does really cool stuff with the art on their discs. They also have some really good discs like the Mana or the pathfinder.
Interesting, I like the looks and feel of Discraft.. I find they also have better names for the Discs than for example Innova and I don`t like the outer rim look from Mvp, though some of mvp stamps do look good but Discraft is more consistent.. I also need to take in consideration mainstream availability, reliability and pricing, that all being said I believe its Discraft for the win with no doubt..
The biggest thing I've learned transitioning from competitive (league) Ultimate to disc golf is that there aren't any great discs/companies, only great players. Fix your form, and any disc will do the job.
I thought you should have mentioned the most unique thing about prodigy disks, how easy it is to identify and compare them. Need a more stable driver than the D3? Move up to the D2. Beginners select the higher numbers, srtonger players the lower numbers. It is intuitive, but lacks aesthetics and character. Same can be said for Disk Mania?
You didn't even mention the history of MVP and it's artists collaborations. If you go to MVP team page on their website, you will see a seperate bracket for their sponsored artists team. I'm not biased, but I'm an artists myself and this was important to me when I first noticed 10 years ago with Zam, Mike Inscho and Skulboy.

MVP's a newer company in contrast to Discraft and Innova, both of which have been around since the '80s, but MVP's been around for 14 years already. To be fair, they really broke out when Conrad hit the Holy Shot. All in all, I appreciate your ratings and you justify them well. Personally, I'm not a fan of Innova plastic, but give me MVP's neutron or Westside's VIP and I'm there.
Anyone ignoring Gateway is suppressing the pinnacle of their experience - start with Magic, a straight hovercraft of an approach. Then get spellbound with the Wizard. Well thought out presentation Trevor, enjoyed it - Foundation plus Gateway Wizard collab on tap, really...... you'll like it now, and love it later ! Unlimited Konnor cos-play on the Wizard.
It’s a brand new mold which takes the old name, and replaces the old venom. Not a retool of the old mold. Trevor is well aware of this fact, unlike you. You truly are ”that guy”. Clueless and overconfident.
I would not recommend Innova to anyone. You cant recommend a brand that makes discs that mostly needs to be modified before its in throwable condition. Obviously same goes for prodigy.
When mentioning MVP, you can’t leave out the diversity with their non-overmold lineup in Streamline. Still under that same umbrella and fill a few different gaps that the overmold doesn’t fill yet
I’m a brand loyal guy. Discraft is all that I bag with some Trash Panda stuff. Started with Innova but leaned more to Discraft. Love Dark Horse marketing…….go head and roast me lol
Innova = classic plastic and molds, ages like a fine wine Discraft = old school molds and plastic Trilogy = buttery plastic, very domey & glidey MVP = high quality plastic, very flat & stable Prodigy = haven't thrown much...
There was already 1 speeds with tons of glide way before the Glitch and Watt; MVP didn't innovate that, they just replicated discs people long forgot about.
Personally I feel like innovas plastic feels like one of the worst to me, star is okay but esp feels better, champ is pretty good but lucid or c-line feels better. Don’t love their putting plastics either, just my opinion

I concur. The MVP, Total Eclipse glow colors are the best, brightest, and longest lasting.

Lattitude royal / DD supreme is top of the line imho. Also MVP's artwork with multiple foil colors as well as their colors/swirls are killer!

Thoughtspace is amazing, my main drivers are Mantra and Construct, my go-to understable mid is Mana, and my go-to putting putter is the Muse

I love the new fractal plastic and color glow. I bought so many of the KJ PA3s in color glow and I will never switch from those putters

I like them all . I throw more innova than anything else. I do have some latitude 64 and westside disc as well
Axioms neutron plastic is my favorite feel, period. But in general, I just grab an Axiom/MVP disc and they feel at home in my hand
That AB color glow Teebird3 is a collector and my favorite run of any disc.

Old innova plastic is the best and it got pretty bad for a few years but I think the halo plastic really saved them

Anyone ignoring Gateway is suppressing the pinnacle of their experience - start with Magic, a straight hovercraft of an approach. Then get spellbound with the Wizard. I have the stabilizer and it has become the approach disc over my zone. Also the jet is such an effortless disc to get distance with

I would not recommend Innova to anyone. You cant recommend a brand that makes discs that mostly needs to be modified before its in throwable condition. Obviously same goes for prodigy.
When mentioning MVP, you can’t leave out the diversity with their non-overmold lineup in Streamline. Still under that same umbrella and fill a few different gaps that the overmold doesn’t fill yet
I’m a brand loyal guy. Discraft is all that I bag with some Trash Panda stuff. Started with Innova but leaned more to Discraft. Love Dark Horse marketing…….go head and roast me lol

Innova = classic plastic and molds, ages like a fine wine
Discraft = old school molds and plastic
Trilogy = buttery plastic, very domey & glidey
MVP = high quality plastic, very flat & stable
Prodigy = haven't thrown much...
There was already 1 speeds with tons of glide way before the Glitch and Watt; MVP didn't innovate that, they just replicated discs people long forgot about.
Personally I feel like innovas plastic feels like one of the worst to me, star is okay but esp feels better, champ is pretty good but lucid or c-line feels better. Don’t love their putting plastics either, just my opinion
What about Discmania? I think they are one of the top 5 manufacturers! And I think a lot of their plastics are a notch above the rest…
