I’m a lifelong A’s fan, second generation in fact (my Dad used to go to games at Shibe Park in the ‘40s & ‘50s) The last 20 years have been repeated heartbreaks as saber metrics scored Oakland great season records only to get shut down by expensive pitchers in October.

Were you referring to Glen Kuiper or Dallas Braden? I consider Glen to be one of the better announcers in the game, but I can understand that Dallas' style can grate on some people. Overall though I think both are very popular among A's fans.
