In the series Bloo just feels like Cartman and Mac in comparison is the obvious voice of reason. Was this shift of Bloos character ever brought up in the show or by the production team?
Eh, the imposter parable is as old as time. Double Dipper, that clone episode of Jimmy Neutron, invasion of the body snatchers. it's a common trope. this episode took the logical route, while Too Many Pinkie Pies took the more... poetic route. plus, seeing Pinkie question her existence is both funny and really sad at the same time. so, you can't say this episode is a ripoff without saying it itself is a ripoff.

What if the sappy bloo was the original and the bloo he chose was the impostor? That would explain why bloo becomes more out of character as the show went on, he's not the real bloo.
If it was me I would take the fake Bloo he is kind and not mean like the Original Bloo. At least the fake Bloo would look out for you and not ditch like Bloo would.

Many good old cartoons that still haven't ended yet *coughfairlyoddparentscough* are starting to suck *coughspongebobcough* so i guess its good that Foster's Home didn't go through this. And we can remember how great it was, and not how much it sucks if it continued.
This show was my favorite, i watched all the episodes at least once, this show should of kept going because this show was so original and they could make any imaginary friend they wanted and make an entire episode about. This show is still just as good as i remember it.
