Just not sure what problem they’re really solving with this. There are dozens of flight controllers and I’d rather have a dedicated ELRS receiver. That way you can install it and not have to route antenna wires off the flight controller.
Maybe HDZero should focus on making flight controllers with their vtx integrated. Or do they want to get into the flight controller business?
This will be huge for tight racing builds, means no soldering aside from motors and no need to figure out where to mount your rx. Plus put switch, h7, huge becs, low profile (all plugs on one side), etc.
Seems to me like this is aimed at racing quad builds where it's hard to find space for a dedicated RX.
The original idea of this fc, is solving high power loading from digital vtxs. Most existing fc really not have enough current output. Most fc label as 5v/2A, but this number is coming from step-down controller spec, in reality it most likely 1.6A only. Halo fc have two really powerful step-down controller for 6A, and make it work at 5V/4A, 9V/3A in real world.
Pretty cool, nice to see something different. Dropping the analog osd chip saves so much room. I get the hobby isn't ready for that on the whole but cool to have options. I prefer the rx mounting pins on the lucid FC. You basically end up with the same size package with the only wire being the rx antenna, but the rx is replaceable. Also crsf and elrs rxs have the same pinout so it's compatible with both.

More competition is always good but it looks like the main innovation here is the diversity ELRS and perhaps the H7. Is that really required now-a-days though given the strength of ELRS?!? Surprising to see the price difference between the two gyros.
MPU6000s haven't been made in years, I'm sure they're all reharvested from other equipment. The ICM42688 is completely fine and there really is no reason not to use it at this point.
@@Mangorille diversity is not required but definitely doesn’t hurt, I still sometimes get rx loss when turtling (ep1 with dipole on top plate) so could help some there.
H7 on the other hand is needed now to keep up with high loop rates, complicated rpm filters, high elrs packet rates, and fast osd refresh rates.
@ I do like the H7 but I still run AIOs that have a F405. :)
Yeah, will definitely run on lower spec fine. Just not with all of the features enabled (ie: 8k/8k, f1000 elrs, w/ rpm filters, etc). No need to run 8k/8k for good performance but racers demand weird stuff sometimes.

you are correct, no hdz baked in, but it is designed to stack tightly with the race v3 vtx

You would just need to wire it directly into one of the UART. All betaflight flight Controllers support crossfire if they have a free Rx/tx pad. Not sure I would recommend that FC if you want crossfire.

I like the esc. It's one of many out there. There is a Am32 if you want OS and there is others. The big diferance with Voltara and Fettec as well is their firmware is only used on their esc so if they stop it just means you won't get updates for that. Blheli was entirely different as it was an industry wide issue.
As for contacting them just the same as contacting Kiss Ultra.
