    Hi, I am a fan of your content, I have a big living room/kitchen space with vaulted celing, just got new drywall put on. Any recommendation for a sherwin williams primer?

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there PVA primer. It comes in 5 gallon buckets, and its cheap. If you are buying in single gallons their drywall primer is good, but more expensive (link below) Thanks for the feedback!

    Starting my painting business not sure what to charge on trim any suggestions? I’m in Nebraska. Good video thanks

      My suggestion would be to think through the job (whatever the job happens to be) and then take a solid guess as to how long you think it’ll take you to do it. Include getting the supplies, setup, prep, application and cleanup. For this example let’s say it’s 8 hours to do all that. Multiply those hours by what you’d like to make per hour. Let’s say $35 and hour (just an example) that would be $280. Then you wanna add paint and materials. It’s also a good idea to add some margin so that if it takes longer than you thought, you’ll still make some money. As you do more estimates and jobs you’ll get more accurate at predicting your time and costs. Good luck with your business!

    Hi, I just got a house, and looking to repaint the entire first floor. I was thinking of spray painting with a grace x5. What do you advice spray painting or rolling. Any advice? Thanks

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We are a primarily a brush and roller crew. If you don't have any experience spraying, then I'd advise going with a brush and roller setup. Spraying involves quite a bit more prep and skill. You can also end up ruining your house if you don't spray properly. Overspray can be a real issue. @@SuperVassarBrothersThank you. What will you say is your best primer? Also, are the zinsser primers any good? If yes, which one will you suggest? Thanks

    A more complicated measurement would be for a vaulted ceiling, what is the metrics for getting square footage? I seen people mention go pass the knee wall from the floor to 5’ and across the room to determine floor space? This would be a great idea for a clear visual video🤷🏼‍♂️
    Many Thanks,

      I just ball park it from the floor measurements. If you are on the fence as to whether or not you’ve got enough product then grab another gallon of ceiling paint.

    can I spray paint the room? I have 4 rooms. =( what tool do you use ?

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a sprayer, but that's generally more complicated than using a traditional brush and roller. Check out our series on how to paint a bedroom for a look at our process:
