    Can you elaborate on the dye line? What does that mean? Can you not print from any software?

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The dye line is simply a guideline in which to place your artwork. You can use any design software

    Great tutorial.
    Could you give me a couple suggestions on a beginner mug press only?

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how much you want to spend. We sell a Geo Knight mug press which has a 3 years/3000 mug warranty. I know of no others with that good of warranty. Most only have a 6 to 12 month warranty.

    Can you print on regular canvas bags like book. Bags.? And items that will not get wet or does it have to be special items? Thank you

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what the canvas is made of. They would need to be made of a poly canvas.

    hi awesome guide video. one question how you know if the pressure is correct on these? the instructions say med-heavy pressure at 4min.

    • @9thstreetdesigns807
      @9thstreetdesigns807 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll want to tighten the pressure to the point where no gaps are showing between the green pad and the transfer.

      I'm glad you found our video useful. I believe the only way to sublimate the bottom of a mug would be to use a 3D vacuum press. We don't have one of those presses so I can't guarantee that it would work completely due to the height of the mug.

      Are the plastic mugs that you are doing, from JDS? You won't do the plastic ones as long as the ceramic. Here is the video on the plastic mugs. th-cam.com/video/Laho9J57Tn4/w-d-xo.html

    Do you have to use sublimation Ink or can you use regular ink with Sublimation paper? THanks

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES

      You need sublimation ink and paper. Regular ink will not transfer properly and will wash off immediately.

    The important question you printed on a dishwasher, microwave safe mug after you print on it is it still safe or will the image ware off after use in the dishwasher?

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If put in a home dishwasher, put it on the top rack only. If you put it onto the bottom rack, it gets much hotter and the mug will actually unsublimate. Also, do not put them in a commercial dishwasher - those are way too hot.

    Can we use any ceramic mugs in a mug press , as long as it is of good quality

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES

      No. Any product for sublimation must have a polymer coating on them in order for the ink to bond. Regular mugs do not have the coating.

    how come you need special inks for mugs but for t-shirt printing you can use normal ink?

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean by "normal" ink? Sublimating on t-shirts also needs special ink. For true sublimation to take place, the shirt needs to be polyester.

  • @itoldyousofacts
    @itoldyousofacts 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you use regular transfer paper like printing a t shirt?

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular heat transfer will not be as durable as sublimation. Regular heat transfer will eventually scratch off whereas sublimation is actually inside the poly molecules. That is why you need to use poly coated mugs for sublimation.

    why is my ink bleeding after i remove from heat press

    • @JDSINDUSTRIES
      @JDSINDUSTRIES  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you putting the mug into warm water after you take it out of the press? The ceramic stays hot for so long that the ink will actually bleed out if not cooled down quickly. Be sure to use warm water, not cold.
