John, I would love to read your book so I hope you pursue that goal. My goodness... all this new year's stuff... resolutions, your word of the year, vision boards... To be perfectly honest, all that stuff just makes me tired. My main goal in life is to live in aliveness which encapsulates who and how I want to be in the world. It means being awake, present and doing the work I want to do the way I want to do it. So I reckon my resolution for new years and otherwise is to keep living true to myself. Happy New Year to you both! Y'all have been a highlight to 2024 for sure so keep up the excellent work!
My 2025 creative intention is to increasingly have a portfolio and project mindset. Over the past two years I've moved from only producing one-off images to more diptychs, triptychs, and what might close to being official series. Now it's time to step back and see it all as a body of work and how it hangs together. I also want to do more printing!
Projects - that's for me. It forces me to consider, think, create, be more visionary I guess 🧐 Btw, John the question back is why a pdf? If it was me it would be a part of of a wider strategic context..... Mates rates apply too 😉
Art may only exist, and the artist may only evolve, by completing the work. I'm going to strive for the completion of more of my work in 2025, and beyond. Keep up the great talks, I'll keep this channel on my fav list.
My goal is to find a better TH-cam Channel!!!!!!!!!!!! John, I know I would not only buy your book but try to get you to sign it. Great goal for 2025 John. My life is in total chaos right now going from moving to now not moving but only after moving a lot of stuff... Unmoving is hard! So, I need some photography in 2025 to get my head back right, some time in nature with that little black box sounds like a great plan all around. That is one of my goals. Another goal is to have two good back to back workshops in Joshua Tree National Park in October. After Covid sunk the business it has taken time to crawl back out of the water but crawl out I did!
It’s easy for life events to derail us. My goal is to start creating weekly, I too have had a lot of life stuff that has gotten in the way of my creating. I’m feeling the need to create!
I am going to continue to shoot a lot of color but I have set my camera so the JPEGs are B&W so I can "learn to see" in B&W and I am going to try and simplify my composition. Other than that just shooting as much as I can.
Excellent Steve! Seeing the b&w image on the camera screen is the best way to visualize in b&w! Just be sure to be shooting in RAW and Monochrome mode!

Damn, Ellen.... That makes WAYYYY to much sense. I want to be you!!!
My goal is to have a small exhibition locally and to hopefully create a small book or a set of prints to go with it .

Well here's one opinion that Cole's background image is spectacular.
I hope you realized I was being sarcastic.... :)

How do I like this comment 10 times???
I have no goals for 2025 other than just to "roll with the flow".
You're pretty good with that James!
You know, that has a lot of appeal!

Excellent! Let us know at the end of the year how your connection to B&W went!

Visit new locations and buy new tripod. The old one broke :)
See you in 2025. Keep up the good work.
Excellent! And thank you for being a loyal follower of our banter.
