I gotta give Alec mad props for this. As someone with anger issues and is bad at Guitar Hero, I would’ve broken my controller way before I could ever consider doing this
When I was younger my anger issues were terrible. I legitimately almost killed my brother as a 6 year old because he had done something minor to annoy me. If nothing else I'm glad the anger issues were always there so I was able to learn how to deal with them when I was younger. I would hate to see how bad it would be if they came in when I was a teenager or even later.
So this and the ttaf speed up run make me wonder - I get that on console your polling rate is locked at 60 hz with the framerate, so what does that plus the engine make the "actual" hit windows for each note? Like, what is the timing you actually have to hit? Is it more accurate to what the notes show, or is it like the strumming in the outro is actually varied by some specific amount as opposed to straight like it's supposed to be. I'd be pretty interested in the answer.
basically on console whenever notes get extremely fast, you'll have to start playing a lot more accurate because of the poll/frame lock. 19 notes per second might be a breeze at 300fps and 0ms input lag but when it's 60fps with ~16ms input lag you'll have to play "in the future" a bit to make sure that your inputs will line up properly, if that makes any sense.
Referring to the Building It Up section: I’m confused, is it because there’s no grace notes or is the charting so fast that the game can’t register the strum bar being used like in GH2? Or is it both?
Building It Up is a nasty combo of ramping speed, random/unnatural fret switching and it's max speed reaching 19-20nps (which can become a physical limit). Plus that's all over a pretty long section. Trogdor needs a lot of precision because of the strum limit in the game but the rhythm and pattern is easy (all fret switches are down strums), the max speed is only ~17nps and its a much shorter section
