    Outstanding scenery, love the music, and a brilliant piece of filming!

      +Pete Marsden Thanks for your kind comments. Greenland certainly has great scenery but hard trekking at times (and biting insects that make those in Britain and Ireland look tame). Martin

    Another excellent record of an epic trip to a place way off the beaten track. Very well done.

      +John Finn Thanks. We knew in advance that trekking in Greenland would be fantastic but nobody told us how hard it is in places. The dwarf trees are especially troublesome and the maps are barely adequate. We did some other treks for which we hope to post videos soon.

    Absolutely stunning, folks. A great trek and a fantastic video.

      +muzagmuzag thanks for your kind words. Greenland is a very rugged and beautiful part of our planet, and although it's visually amazing, the trekking is very tough going due to the terrain and vegetation.

    Beautiful scenery - that looks like a serious undertaking. No heading up into the Bluestacks on a whim there!

      +Adrian McGlynn LOL! In places, Greenland is rather like Ireland must have been after the end of the last Ice Age, when dwarf trees and plants had colonised some of the valleys and sheltered slopes, but large tracts of uplands were still rugged, boulder strewn wilderness and the mountains almost barren. The scenery is magnificent but we found the terrain absolutely brutal in places. As for the swarms of biting, stinging insects...

    Ice sea and sky moving to the time of pure genius... This place is something else. This must have taken some planning! but wow! love the shot of the pair of you jumping in the snow, thats living!! what do you think of pacer poles? been looking at them myself, well all I can say guys is thank you so much for taking your time to capture this beautiful moment :) Tim

      +savedpurplecat Hi Tim, thanks for your kind words. We greatly enjoyed this trek as it didn't have quite as many insects to bother us! The maps of Greenland aren't that detailed, so planning multi-day trips is always a bit hit and miss and we found it was better to give yourself plenty of time to cover distances which look OK on a map, but in reality are not so on the ground. This trek was no exception! Plus, videoing takes a lot of time, but we think it's worth it. There'll come a time when we can no longer jump for joy in the snow, but we can re-live it on screen!!!
      Personally, I love Pacer poles, been using them since about 2009 and wouldn't want to walk with anything else. I particularly like the ergonomic handle. The only thing I've found slightly awkward about them is on the rare occasions I might have an ice axe in one hand and a pole in another. The style of the handle means that you can't swap them from one hand to another.

    Hey, it's not possible to open the GPS of the trek. It says that there's a problem with the login. Is there another way to get to this GPS? Thank you:)

    What about the polar bear? How did you handle this? Do you still recommend to stay out there in a tent for many days?

    • @EtherealLightPhotography
      @EtherealLightPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      tZinar there aren’t any polar bears in this part of Greenland. No problem camping, except for the insects in summer in remote areas

      @@EtherealLightPhotography There have been Polar Bear sightings recently in the Tasermiut area and we understand that a gun might be required to be carried

      Glad you liked our video. Greenland is such a wonderful place to visit but it challenges your skills in trekking in extreme environments.
