It is perhaps worth mentioning that "India formed" early. It was only called Harsha Empire (648) but more importantly Delhi Sultanate (1206) which had the biggest extent, almost today's Indian borders. It's worth knowing that the Indian subcontinent was the second wealthiest region in the world, after China, until approx. 1850. Yes, the Spanish Empire, all the colonies, everything about it -- still smaller than India (2nd) and China (1st) for centuries. The conquest of India by the British is probably one the most cunning and important chapters of Great Britain, which not only skyrocketed the relatively cheap and poor colonies of the British Empire to 2nd place, after China but also drained the wealthy Indian subcontinent of its advancements and riches thanks to a reckless colonial rule, despite a huge Indian population. Yes, Canada and the American Revolution are important to US history but relatively insignificant to the economic power of the Indian subcontinent of that time. China, on the other hand, was Number 1 until roughly the Opium wars in the 19th century, when the British crippled the world-leading economy at that time, China. When the Second Industrial Revolution (> 1860) occurred in Great Britain, it all was history anyway. But still, impressive, isn't it? Most people do not even much about it.
Delhi Sultanate got the biggest extend!!! Lol! Guess you don't know Indian History. The largest was the Mauryan Empire(322BCE-185BCE), founded by Emperor Chandragupta Maurya(first emperor of India), which had its largest extend during his grandson Samrat Ashoka's(known as " Ashoka The Great ", one of the greatest emperor in the world) rule. It stretched more than 1.5 times present India's size. As per sources it's about 5 million square kilometers.

I don't usually flex but once I had a CK2 run as Buddhist Bengal where I formed India, Conquered all of Russia, Scandinavia and England. I also managed to installed my Dynasty members as the Emperors of Rome(Reformed Byzantium), Emperors of the Mongols, Emperor of China and the Kaiser of Prussia(Titular), as well as the Kings of Scotland and Ireland.
Just before I converted to EU4, the Empires of Hispania and Ghana were the only significant independent states which were still Drawfed by my 250k+50k Standing Army(retinue + demense troops) and I hadn't called my Levy Banners of over 2 million men in over a century.
I have had multiple Map Sweeps as the Byzantines but my Indian Run was my favorite cos I was able to Preserve all my favorite Empires till EU4.
Ofcourse all the Empires except Rome(Me) exploded within 150 years of EU4 creating cancerous Bordergore everywhere.
What???
