The front ensemble plays some of the melody from Jupiter's chorale section after the big V set. Also going into the big V set there's a quick chord progression from the end of Jupiter that is then followed by a Mars chord progression
I wish they kept the tempo change in Music of the Night like in this video. This show is amazing and the slow tempo makes that hit feel a lot more massive.
Unfortunately, it was nowhere near as good as Cavaliers, 1986...music, colorguard contribution and accentuation, and from flags to SIXTEEN PAIRS OF CYMBALS among the COLOR GUARD, rotating while boxed in and contributing cymbal crashes with the music during the presentation of this musical feature that SCV is playing in this clip! Look it up - Cavaliers 1986 DCI Championship. It might be a bit difficult to find; for some reason some stuff from that year is not well-represented. Still, I always appreciate SCV...in fact, look at SCV's 1986 production of Russia of the 19th Century...amazing show with a UNIFORM CHANGE ON THE FIELD while the drum line fills it! ...a little old-school flavor for your eyes and ears, folks...stuff was HOT that year among several corps!
snare break was ridiculously clean
They always have the best percussion! Insane.

I always think im doin alright in band... and then I see DCI bands and how everything they do is so perfect
Spring training is a month or more of just 12 hour rehearsals. Every. Single. Day.
They start somewhere, just like you, dude.
It’s cause they spend 3 months straight of 8-12 hour days rehearsing and performing. Everyone starts somewhere.
U said it right. Dci bands. An abomination of drum corps
One of the best closers of all time
LOL
Nice! This is def my dream corps, I love their shows.
If you liked this one search Cavaliers Planets Mars for more great DCI moments.
+Pepin Chen they are yelling "Vanguard!!!"

Awesome Show but whomever named this clip had the wrong planet in the solar system, this piece was "Mars" NOT Jupiter
Bob Boehmke it had jupter in it it was another piece in the suite
***** Music of the night is from Phantom of the Opera not Les Miserables
my high school's show 2 years ago was the planets with mars, venus, mercury, and jupiter
0:37 was probably my favorite moment so far of 2012 DCI
10 years later. still one of the best

Bogus, this Mars.
Watch when the Cavies did this on the G-bugles. That was worth watching. Indoor band instruments just can’t project. Down vote.
STFU
I don't like this arrangement of Mars. I like the version the Cavaliers did in 95.
That sucked
